Oregon RB Coach Carlos Locklyn Given Raise, Contract Extension Through 2026
So happy about this, as he deserves his increases. He has been a target of other teams, and will continue to be. Love his attitude...

Stunner: Oregon Beats No. 1 Seed Arizona 67-59
Down 14 in late first half? Outscored the Wildcats 44-26 in the second half? Shelstad goes crazy hitting threes? The best part? It was almost an entirely Arizona crowd there, and now they left the arena...torqued at Oregon AGAIN.

New CFB Revenue Model: Beavis and Butthead Get LESS Than 1%!
Oh darn! They can't steal any more? 225 million wasn't enough? Group of 5 schools get a ton less with the new Playoff contract, and rightfully so. Are they going to really be contending for a 'Natty? No, so 360K is too much.

When asked about what coaching strategies he employed in the first half..."It’s not coaching if nobody’s listening,” Altman said after the game.

2024 CFB: Power-4 Dark Horse Title Contenders
Great article, well researched, and sound reasoning. I always learn a lot from your writing, Jon, and this one got me pondering. In the B1G, I figured you might slide to Wisconsin, and your Trojan pick surprised me. But you made a great case…could we face Troy in the B1G championship game? My thanks!

New CFB Revenue Model: Beavis and Butthead Get LESS Than 1%!
Whoa...did I read that right? Oregon will get 21 million a year--just for being in the B1G, who is part of the Playoffs? For perspective....remember how not long ago--Apple offered us 22 million each for our entire annual media contract. Meanwhile this Playoff revenue is EXTRA and beyond the our B1G media contract? Yep. I did read it correctly. "Under the new CFP arrangement, Big Ten and SEC members are set to each receive about $21 million annually..."

Diamond Ducks First Home Pac-12 Series Begins Tonight!
Oregon (11-5) is taking on a highly improved Cal squad that is 11-3 and coming off a victory over Stanford, and SWEPT UCLA? Whew! Their coach formerly was at Stanford, and took them to Omaha in the past, so the Ducks have their hands full. Oregon's pitching is...not great. Our starters are very average, and our reliever depth is not as good as I'd hoped thus far. Oregon suffered a jarring loss at home on Tuesday to Portland, 15-5, where every aspect of our game was not good. I am looking for improvement, and I'll bet we see quite the fight in Our Beloved Ducks this weekend! (And it will be PERFECT weather for Baseball! Go to the game or watch it streamed by going to GoDucks.com, then Baseball, then Schedule, and the scroll down to the first Cal game, and click on the link)

Our share is better than what we would’ve been in the PAC-12.

Canzano Gets It: Dan Lanning Humor...
Q: What is the one thing that Dan Lanning most needs to prove in the upcoming football season? — @johnniethek A: That he knows when to kick a field goal. Also, he needs to prove he can win big games. He’s got the rest down. I am not worried about Dan Lanning figuring these things out.

Wowsa. Oregon Football Has 30 Newcomers at First Spring Practice? Whew!
More notes from On3, ScoopDuck.com.... On Thursday, Noah Whittington was in uniform and spider pads, participated in warmups, and fielded kickoffs during the portion of practice that was open to reporters. “We’re being conscientious of where (Whittington) is at,” Oregon head coach Dan Lanning said. “They’re doing a really good job with the treatment program — he’s way ahead of schedule. He’s done a really good job there. But we’ll be conscientious with him through the spring.” Junior cornerback Jahlil Florence delivered a breakout season last fall after locking down a starting spot opposite Khyree Jackson. But, toward the end of the year, he dealt with injuries and was not available for the Pac-12 Championship Game or the Fiesta Bowl. On Thursday, Florence was in street clothes. Lanning also noted that senior offensive lineman Faaope Laloulu has moved into a student assistant role with UO.
