I am still stunned that the B1G has not come in and offered Cal/'Furd something ridiculous, like 10 million a year to join the B1G and finish the west pod....

Makes a ton of sense that the Huskies may not have it as easy on offense this fall. It makes us Ducks grateful for all the experience in the 2023 offensive line.

An alternative to playing Portland State?

Rather than go to the Mountain West...wouldn't they still be better off adding teams to the Pac? The media contract would still have to be bigger than the MTW, and they have the NCAA Basketball revenue coming in along with a slate of teams for the late Saturday night window. Although if they added Fresno State, Boise State, etc...there was a reason why the MTW contract was not very much. Interesting thing to ponder, because if I was stuck in that scenario--I'd rather be in a depleted Pac-12, than in the Mountain West. Right? Look at the bright side....they'll be favored to win the new conference next year!

I really don't think Oregon State and Washington State fans/admins want to continue the games out of spite. I don't think it will be an issue later. Let it go a number of years until they miss it...

That was the No. 1 item cited by B1G media as what they thought of when thinking of Oregon. And I have the helmets to prove it!

For an OLD FART like me....it hard to remember that it is not the actual marketing tactic used, but the Social Media reaction to it--is what gives you tons of coverage. That is how someone can have a silly take in "X", and yet becomes a viral star. It is the reaction to what was done or written. It is an adjustment of thinking for me about marketing; it is not the tactic, but the reaction to it that brings discussion about you. I shouldn't admit this publicly...

I have been highly critical of article site, Ducks Wire, for their ongoing small articles that often contain blah-blah that I do not allow FishDuck writers to engage in. If you read a full transcript each day of the interviews with the coaches--you will get the information of the next three days of Ducks Wire articles, as they will take a small blurb and then add some blah-blah to make an article from a sentence or two from an interview. Thus they can take one coach's interview and make four articles from it. (As a publisher, I know the strategy well) But Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire wrote a super article about the billboards, and absolutely nailed it along with some further insight that I think all Duck fans should see below. Forget the Heisman; Bo Nix’s billboards are about Oregon recruiting DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM “At the University of Oregon, you’re going to have the opportunity to be recognized. I am very grateful for all the time studying and creating these analyses by Coach Boles. I suspect we will have a whole lot more to break down this season, and with my new busy schedule--hope I can still do one on defense once in a while.
