  1. Dan Lanning putting "little-boy" Colorado in its place... As I stated before...."I know an easy team to schedule for a P5 Non-Conference game!"
  2. These teams are tough, and their coaches are good. Yet it is a perfect schedule to make the Playoff; win these super-challenging games vs. ranked opponents and we are in. Difficult? Sure, but this experienced savvy team can do it! 12-0 Baby! Mr. FishDuck discussing the Ducks...
  3. Amen Duck-Buddy. So many of these writers do not even know the Ducks very well, and provide what I call "blah-blah" articles to fill their assignment to their publisher. As a publisher at FishDuck, I do not allow such articles, and insist upon our writers offering something new in terms of facts or a perspective that has not been covered, thus the reader is rewarded for taking time on a FD article. And thankfully...none of our writers want to write nonsense articles. They are all-volunteer, and want to contribute something to fellow fans. I love them dearly! Now about the receiver room--you are right on in that anyone who does not see the real state of the receivers at Oregon is just uninformed. Gary Bryant Jr. had receiving numbers at USC in 2021 that was better than anyone at Oregon, and he was a raw freshman. Last year he could see after two games that Riley was going to use "his" guys brought from Oklahoma, thus he quickly stepped away to transfer. He is going to be money for the Ducks. With him on one side, and Troy Franklin on the other with Will Stein's offense? Bombs away, baby! Now, throw in Tez Johnson who resembles a DAT-Light to me, Kris Hutson, and we have a core of wide-outs who are going to score often.
  4. Nope. I let the other sites cover it, and I thought they did a good job. Fun to read about some prospects…
  5. The pressure this play puts on the linebackers is brutal, as they can't cover them all!
  6. My reaction to a click-bait two-paragraph article like that? More nonsense...yeah, Clemson and Florida State are going to break their ACC contract this week.
  7. Right. It was in a thread posted this morning...
  8. In the end...our TV numbers are based upon those in the west who watch the telecast, and those numbers have been more than enough to support all the athletic programs. It was documented a while back how an Oregon State vs. Arizona State game played in Corvallis drew a slightly larger audience in the 7:30 PST slot than two good Big-12 teams playing in prime-time. It seems you are grasping for something to be negative about. I'm sure I can find something else that is gloomy...
  9. But do we really know that? What if the media deal turns out to be pretty good? And we find out later why things got held up...and it all made sense? I cannot say his leadership is bad until I see the facts. Colorado could not wait for the facts--they just wanted out, and any reason will do. If Arizona leaves before even knowing the facts of the deal--whose bad leadership is that? I look at the facts, and spin positive from them. Some people, in the absence of facts--like to assume the worst. (The leadership is terrible, the Pac-12 is toast, we are a crap-conference, etc.) There are too many positive facts between the conference, and Our Beloved Ducks for me to go all-negative as some of our Duck-Buddies have.
  10. As I stated in another thread....we have 20 verbals and it is not August 1st yet. Has that ever happened? The remaining scholarships will be distributed on a highly selective basis, and with the season I expect to see--Our Beloved Ducks will be just fine when we have the major signing day in December, IMHO. The media deal will be concluded, the Ducks will be on fire and we will flip some big names, in addition to what we are currently pursuing. (I believe) Now I will put down my Pom-Poms...
  11. Splitting hairs on terminology? My point is that we have seen HUNDREDS of posts on this forum over the last year proclaiming the inevitable demise of our conference by pundits, trolls, fans of other conferences, and a boatload of OBD members. I am sick of it, especially when we have no proof yet of that occurring. For crying out loud my Duck-Buddies....wait for the facts and then bemoan our doom. It is easy to wallow in the negative. It is harder to stay positive, regardless of what occurs...thus why most cannot. And no matter what...Oregon will be fine.
  12. First of all, I remind everyone that the current Pac-12 has five ranked teams going into the season. That is tied for second with the Big-12 and only one behind the SEC among all P5 conferences, and I do believe we will have four, if not five ranked in the top 25 at the end of the season. Yeah, better than the ACC and the B1G... Isn't that what characterizes what a good conference is? Winning on the field? In 2024, I believe we will still have five ranked, even with the loss of USC because I think Dilly at ASU will put them in the top-25. Bottom line? We will remain a strong conference whether Colorado, Arizona...whoever leaves because we have five great coaches in this league, and they are not going away. Oregon will make the Playoffs later from the Pac-12, and we will prosper no matter what.
  13. Don't you hate it when disgusting people are right once in a while, thus you cannot disregard everything he says? Is he right this time?
  14. A shrine to the Ducks, to the fans, to college football? For a fun two minutes....

  15. He is unranked, and could provide some depth...he will be a Preferred Walk-on. Ryder Hayes, 2024 quarterback, commits to Oregon Ducks WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM An unranked prospect out of Grandview, Texas, Hayes committed to the Ducks on Saturday as a preferred walk-on

  16. Adrian Wilson just de-committed from National Runner-up TCU to verbal to Oregon at the Saturday Night Live event last night. He is a Rivals 4-Star who was offered by TCU, Utah, Miami, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and a host of others. Adrian Wilson, 4-star 2025 receiver, flips commitment from TCU to Oregon Ducks WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM The 6-foot-2, 173-pound Wilson was among the players to attend UO’s Saturday Night Live camp. Adrian Wilson | DuckSportsAuthority N.RIVALS.COM Adrian Wilson - 2025 4 Star Wide receiver for Weiss (Pflugerville, TX) on Rivals.com This gives Oregon three 2025 verbals already with two of them being Rivals 4-Stars.
  17. We have 20, that is twenty....that is TWENTY verbals and it is not even August 1st! We are ranked No. 6 in the nation for our recruiting class on Rivals, and we will finish in the top ten, my friend. The window on the remaining scholarships is tight, and when Oregon has the season that I believe we will? The conference won't matter, because we're OREGON. You'll see.
  18. Oh goody. Let's get into an even longer and worse contract... But the athletes would get to spend a ton of time on airplanes!
  19. I appreciate the thought given as to why the Big-12 and Oregon/Washington are not a good fit from either side's perspective. I like how it is written a couple of times how "Oregon is striving for the Playoffs." This is good branding of the present goals, helpful for ranking voters, recruits, and national respect. "But anyone expecting bold action from the Pac-12 presidents is setting themselves up for disappointment. The group talks about a strategic approach that anticipates “where the puck is going.” In reality, it’s unable to see the puck until the conference gets whacked in the mouth." Do you feel that you have been misled by your sources inside the Pac-12? Wilner: Not at all, and here’s the reason: To a significant extent, our coverage of the media rights process has leaned into 1) sources in the sports media industry who are unaffiliated with the conference and 2) on-the-record comments by the university presidents. I suggest reading the rest!
  20. Ha! Jon will confirm how I often say to him...."Jon, we are dinosaurs!"
  21. Yep. And now we are supposed to apologize the Big-12 Trolls who predicted umpteen times that Colorado was leaving...and it did not happen until now? If a media deal is announced later this week--does that mean that Canzano is a liar for all those prior times...or right because of this time?
  22. From my own limited experience with player/coach/analyst interviews in the past....often you learn a TON in those interviews that you just cannot share with the audience. Maybe they are waiting on some final approvals, or signatures or some last-minutes revisions to be answered, thus he cannot reveal that. I have heard some juicy stuff that never saw the light of day, or I lost my source forever. Only years later do I tell someone, and even then--it often turns out different, thus what I heard was accurate at that time, but events have obscured it, and thus it remains buried forever. I am quite sure John hears a lot more than he can share. (IMHO)
