  1. We have had over 60 new members over the last three months, and I have not been able to greet all of them when they post. (Most do not post, and I don't know why! It is the only safe place anywhere to post) Great to have you in this superb community, and do post your thoughts often. WELCOME!
  2. If there was ever a year to win at least 10 wins to continue the brand....this is the year. To me the two biggest components (beyond the excellent suggestions you made) are winning big now, and the confidence exuded by our head coach about the Oregon Brand, and how it will be strong no matter the conference. If you say it with confidence, it is reassuring, and then when you win big--you confirm it. Do that, and much of the rest will fall into place, IMHO. Just WIN Baby!
  3. I thought I read that they either were not invited, or advised to decline by the Pac-12. Not sure though... The President of Oregon was not there either, although many other university presidents were. Trying to stop leaks before they happen? Or not wanting to answer for giving Larry-Living-Large a pass as long as he did?
  4. The projections show that in seven years....the TV revenue given to B1G teams will be over 100 million compared to the projected TV revenue to Pac-12 teams at just over 50 million. You cannot be buried like that and compete for long... My preference is to stay in the Pac as well, but if the invitation is made to Oregon, we should take it to remain competitive and relevant. (And I think we will do fine in the B1G)
  5. I don't even think the contract should go that long, since things are so fluid. A three year contract that is amendable and flexible in case Oregon gets a B1G invite.
  6. This hack starts out with..."Unless U.O. can consistently make the College Football Playoff, they’ll probably never get respect from major networks," and that is just nonsense. Oregon is No. 7 among all colleges for the biggest global brand, and also has more fans worldwide than Washington--by a mile. "Seattle may not be No. 2, but they’re in the same weight class as L.A." More Husky hubris.... The writer then does a ton of one-sentence paragraphs, of which is fine for a post, but for a published article? That is not good writing, IMHO.
  7. Q: HOW LIKELY WILL THE NEW MEDIA DEAL COME FROM A NON-TRADITIONAL PARTNER (AMAZON, APPLE)? GK: "Without talking about individual potential partners, I would say it's highly likely that we will end up with a big digital partner for some of our rights and that our rights will be distributed in a way that's unique, different and new. We're excited about that." Everything George Kliavkoff said during his Q&A portion of Pac-12 Media Day 247SPORTS.COM Following George Kliavkoff's opening statement, he, along with Merton Hanks and Stanford AD Bernard Muir, answered questions from the media. Here is a complete
  8. It is not just what he says, but how he says it... Lanning says Oregon 'can stand alone' against negative conference realignment recruiting 247SPORTS.COM Lanning says Oregon 'can stand alone' against negative conference realignment recruiting
  9. Our running back room is superb, and young....without Richard. And we have the No. 6 running back in the nation verballed to us for 2023 as it is. It was good-or-good to me, as we do need some offensive linemen! Dante Dowdell is pretty studly too...
  10. He is referring to an article/analysis I created that will be published in August about Bradyn Swinson. Thanks for your words, and thanks for the superb analysis of defensive starters in another thread DZC!
  11. Oregon at No. 9 is close to the No. 7 in global fan base, and the only complaint I have is TAMU ahead of us? When Dano gets us going--we will be in Top-5? Ducks ahead of Notre Dame? Wowsa...look where USC and Washington are. 12. This is a really good article....looking better for us with patience. A Big 12 merger was never the answer. That was a band-aid on a bullet hole. Duct tape on a sinking ship. The Big 12 has a couple of decent properties left, but I’d argue they are in worse shape than the Pac-12 minus the L.A. schools. Oregon, Washington, Stanford and even Cal have pretty significant value. Both in academics and media markets.
  13. That was very nice of you to let us know--it is people like you that make this forum special. My thanks.
  14. Agreed. Our new writer and friend DazeN is killing it right now, as he has a string of great articles coming out in August. I kinda forgot how good Williams is, and I am grateful for this article; now I will follow him that much closer as a result. Yesterday's article by DazeN about Dilly was valuable to put us Oregon fans at ease with his experience. Great stuff coming from DazeNconfused! And I hope you all saw the announcement at the bottom of the article... FishDuck is going to articles being published SEVEN DAYS A WEEK beginning the first of August, this Monday! Great stuff for discussion now every day!
  15. I believe we have already looked at the numbers in the forum a couple of times, and merging the two will not do as well as what the Pac-12 is and will be. I believe Oregon is best to stay in the Pac-12, unless we get an invite from the B1G, which could happen.
  16. Oregon is heads-and-shoulders over HALF the teams in that conference to start... Illinois Minnesota Purdue Indiana Northwestern Maryland Rutgers And we should take a pay cut? Don't even think about it.
  17. This was not my research or work, as new FishDuck writer, DazeNconfused blew me away with his facts, reasoning and passion for Our Beloved Ducks. You will see a TON of great articles from him over the next month, as he is on FIRE. To me, this was a very important article for all of us to learn from, and realize that Dilly is much more experienced than we thought. My thanks to DzNc!
  18. I am also one of those who believe USC will be very good later, as Alex Grinch is a great Defensive Coordinator. Give them a few years to get all their personnel, and they will be tough in any conference. I had just looked forward to epic match-ups with them in our conference. Great article Darren...thanks.
