  1. And he is targeting coaches with ties to the west coast for recruiting. I did not know that Coach Dillingham was from the Phoenix area originally.... Lanning Intends to Target Assistants With West Coast Ties by Eric Skopil of Duck Territory 247 Tosh Lupoi
  2. Can you say "practice squad?" Like Pittman, he has a much higher opinion of his abilities than they actually are.

  7. I don't know how I feel about this, as he recruited key defensive players from Oregon to Cal when we really needed them for the 'Natty. Yet is he a good coach?
  8. So...I guess the offer did happen on Friday and on Saturday morning. I have real concerns about the judgment of Rob Mullens...yet he hired Lanning! Go figure. Cal’s Justin Wilcox Responds to Why He Turned Down Oregon Offer by Jake Curtis of Cal Sports Report
  9. (Press Release from Oregon Athletics) EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon men's basketball team built some momentum entering its showdown with the top team in the country, beating Portland in Matthew Knight Arena on Wednesday, 96-71. The Ducks (6-5) enjoyed their best offensive performance of the season so far, with a season-high point total on 53.6 percent shooting. That was a welcome performance three days before hosting No.1-ranked Baylor at MKA on Saturday. "We know they're really good defensively," senior Quincy Guerrier said of the Bears, who allow the third-fewest points in the country. "So we're going to have to really execute our offense and make sure everybody's on the same page." Four Ducks scored in double figures Wednesday, including N'Faly Dante with a season-high 20 points and De'Vion Harmon with a season-high 19. Quincy Guerrier added 17 points and Will Richardson scored 16. How It Happened: The Ducks (6-5) began to pull away from Portland early, scoring on five straight possessions to build an 18-8 lead. That run included three-pointers from Richardson and Guerrier and five points from Franck Kepnang, who along with Dante gave Oregon a decided edge in the post. Dante finished an alley-oop from Richardson and Eric Williams Jr. followed with a three-pointer for a 27-11 lead, and Dante and Richardson scored on back-to-back trips to put Oregon up 31-13. Pretty passing from Harmon to Rivaldo Soares to Isaac Johnson helped the Ducks break Portland's press as Johnson finished the sequence with a dunk, and Guerrier scored in the post on the next possession to make it 35-18. Oregon led 46-30 at halftime. Portland hit three-pointers on four of its first six possessions after halftime, but Oregon started the half 6-of-6 shooting to lead 61-43 on a Harmon three-pointers. A miss broke the hot shooting streak, but the Ducks ended up scoring on its first 11 trips down the court after halftime to go ahead 70-48. That was Oregon's biggest lead until Johnson hit two free throws for an 86-63 advantage, and a three-point play by Dante with 3:33 left gave the Ducks their biggest lead of the night, 94-65. Who Stood Out: Dante made 9-of-11 shots and also grabbed nine rebounds during his 20-point night, and Harmon was 3-of-4 from three-point range on his way to 19 points. Guerrier had five rebounds plus three assists along with his 17 points, and Richardson finished with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists. Notable: Dante is now shooting 72.1 percent on the season. … James Coopers and Brady Parris made their UO debuts off the bench in the waning moments of the game. … Lök Wur missed his fourth straight game. Up Next: The Ducks host Baylor on Saturday (7 p.m., ESPN2).
  10. Joshua....thank you for stating what needed to said up-front; playing Cristo-"ball" will not win a 'Natty, and that is one thing Lanning should not emulate from his mentor. GREAT article...
  11. This is going to be an AWESOME OFF-SEASON! So many questions,.....like being a child and looking in the shop window at toys before Christmas and wondering...."will I get this or this?"
  12. This guy is a legit Rivals 4-Star and someone needed and wanted badly by both the departing and current coaching staff. He was expected to sign, but you never know until they do and he is KEY to me. Offers from: Arkansas, BYU, Florida State, Michigan, USC and....Washington! (More lunch money!) I did not see this picture until I did a search and WOW...this is what every recruit should do before leaving...see how big-time Oregon is!
  13. Whew! Another key defensive lineman that Scott Frost and Nebraska wanted bad, as they flew him and his parents in for a last second visit over the weekend. Coach Lanning could play "closing pitcher" with all the "saves" he is making. Big one! Offers from Nebraska, Tennessee, Baylor, USC and...Washington! (Again...the list of all are in the thread that Annie started and so many have graciously added to, but I wanted to highlight this one I personally was quite worried about.) 14. This guy shouts another DJ Johnson type of athlete, that while is a Rivals 3-Star, has a high upside. Not expected, but needed. This is Lanning's first official recruit, while the others were "saving" what we had. (And yes,...this is in the thread about LOIs, I thought I would call attention to a pretty important first victory for Coach Lanning. Keep posting articles all!) Offers from: Texas, Miami, USC and....Washington! 15. Posted last night already...scroll down to see it and the discussion. But good to see you! And keep posting--thanks.
  16. My FishDuck Friends...this article below gives you a small taste of the Dillingham offense, but tomorrow you get a full meal of what to look for in the Dillingham offense complete with actual key plays. We are putting the finishing touches on it this afternoon and it will publish early AM Thursday. It is a sweet article and Tina Turner was right about FishDuck's Coach Eric Boles..."You're Simply the Best!" 17. Harrison Taggart signed, and you can keep track by clicking on the link that Annie provided at the top through the day.
  18. LB48...let's look at Rule 26.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- No. 26: Do not get personal in judgments of the Players or Coaches: We allow commenting about players and coaches as that is what message boards and forums are all about. Second-guessing coaches and judging player performance is what everyone does, but we must not get personal or nasty toward them. Questioning a play-call or whether a tackle should have been made (Performance-related) is fine, and give your thoughts as to why in one direction or the other. Whether a coach should be retained or a player replaced is also fair-game because they know they are in the public sphere and that goes with the territory. Let’s discuss, but Ad Hominem attacks on them are forbidden. No such rules with coaches at other teams, their players or their fans. Go for it and have fun! -------------------------------------------------------------------- LB48....the rules pertain to current members of the team. Micah Pittman is no longer on the team, and has not been for nearly a month. This case was actually discussed among us Moderators about how to handle it because tons of forum members wrote how he was selfish, and I gave it a pass since he left the team before the season was done. This was a great example of trying to justify bad behavior through the video and it backfired on him. Members of this forum can go after the players, coaches, fans--anything of other teams. We cannot get personal with members of the forum, writers and management of the forum, and current players/coaches of the team. ------------------------------------------------------------------- When I call or check with someone on a rule violation--I do it privately by phone or email. It is a shame you could not do the same, LB48. I would now suggest you look at Rule No. 3 before you respond.
  19. After watching the video and pondering on it....I am now back to being convinced that this was completely a selfish act by Pittman. C'mon...he was on the inside. He knew better than anyone before this year what Mario wanted to do. Note how he spoke often of the NFL in the video? Sorry, but I do not think he is NFL talent. He is correct in his determination of the Cristobal intent and offense...but he knew it already. Yes...Cristobal fed him a bum deal, and we agree. So transfer at the end of the season! Note also that he spoke of, "what if I get injured and enter the portal as damaged goods?" It's all about ME baby! He spoke how his head wasn't in to it...."oh geez, life is so tough. You are an incredible athlete that has four games left to play before you take your talents elsewhere, but you cannot wait?" "Your head wasn't in it? You poor baby!" Geez...is that the epitome of today's spoiled, entitled athlete? I do not blame him for transferring AFTER the season was over. He bailed on his teammates because of his own selfish desires. And bailing like that was a distraction that hurt the team, and ultimately will be recognized for what it was.
  20. You did not see our analysis articles apparently. One receiver in this offense averaged 21 yards per catch! To stop the run--defenses play the WRs one-one-one and it creates huge explosion plays from the match-ups.
