  1. If you consider a typical class of 25 players, they are halfway there with only one four-star player. By the time it is over, I don’t think they will even be in the top 30 in the nation, which is not that great. Compared to Chris Peterson, that is not good recruiting, which is what my point was.
  2. By the time Mari is let go--he will be quite rich and set for life. He can then coach at a backwater school in Florida for fun. Oh. He can't go there because Willie Taggart has that one taken.
  3. Washington just had a string of new verbals...as they have 12 verbals, but 11 are 3-Star, with only one 4-Star on Rivals. By contrast Oregon has eight verbals with half, or four of the 4-Stars, with more coming. The Huskies have more points because they have more verbals at the moment. We will have 25 commits eventually, so I do not hit panic button this early. I am not trying to be dismissive of your concerns, but I believe they are premature. I have been following Oregon recruiting closely for nearly 25 years, and continue reading everything about it on the two subscription Oregon sites. I have also written quite a few recruiting articles over the years as well. I am not saying I am always correct, but I do believe your concerns before July 1st are a bit early. We will get ours.
  4. "Prevent Offense" was coined by our own 30Duck here on the OBD forum, and it perfectly described the offense under Cristobal.
  5. This is great stuff from our new friends from the Big-12, and given us a ton to consider. Please check in and post often, as you are very welcome.
  6. Websites that report news are hard-up for content, as that article is just a bunch of "blah-blah" that we already know. "If Moore comes to Oregon--it will help further recruiting!"
  7. I vote with Oregon State as the Trap game, if we accomplish what I think we can. Will we be "full-of-ourselves" by that time in the season and not be ready? Due to their massive stadium remodeling--there will NOT be many Oregon fans allowed, as visiting teams will be given far fewer tickets, and allow OSU fans priority first.
  8. I am quite surprised that Oregon has more fans than Alabama? Over 5 million? Wow.
  9. Nemec is simply reading 247 and ScoopDuck and copying what they are reporting; he has no sources. But 'Hop at SD has it happening in the next two weeks...and that could start a set of recruiting dominoes that are thrilling for Oregon fans.
  10. I would love it, but don't see it happening because it is not a "get-ready-for-the-NFL" type offense. In particular, with all the motions and the difficulty with keeping track of who has the ball--defenses have to put more in the box, thus the receivers are one-on-one of which can create big plays. Franklin, Thornton and McGee could clean up with the GoGo, but as much as I would like to see it--I doubt we see much if any of it. It was great fun to interview Coach Marion for those articles, but again--it is a longshot at Oregon. But it could kick-butt...
  11. I am quite convinced that between the buzz created by this coaching staff, and what recruits see on the field this fall--that we will get our 25 signees. And I think it will be top-ten class...
  12. A Red Raider! Great points, and welcome to this forum. Do post your thoughts often, although this was a great start. You make a good case...
  13. Sewell Named Walter Camp Preseason All-American - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM Oregon linebacker Noah Sewell has been named a 2022 preseason first-team all-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
  14. This is typical for recruiting, and Oregon generally does not have tons of commitments by now, although we have great momentum at the moment. Eight commits before July is pretty good for us.... Recruits go home to discuss, and they also need time to have their video made for Social Media, and want to announce nowadays with family as a community event. Now there may have been silent commits over the weekend, (and I'll bet there was) where they tell the coaches that they are verballing, and will do so now in the dead period for recruiting. Right now does not give a true picture; the December signing date will. Patience. As for your other questions on other threads....Google is your friend!
  15. Okay, that is a very reasoned response, and while I don't like it--I'd take it. In particular, it would drive Husky fans crazy!
  16. OK...that surprised me. Think of it...the Pac-12 is the first conference to have 500 National Championships, the first conference to have 200 womens championships and the first to have a school at 100 championships in UCLA. But now Stanford and USC does as well, and it is pretty impressive. Four Pac-12 teams in the top ten... List of NCAA schools with the most NCAA Division I championships - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
  17. We are the leader at the moment, and it is a long time until next February...but getting a verbal is 90% of the challenge.
  18. I don't think that will happen under the new coach. As DazeNconfused wrote in another thread...DeBoer has quite a confusing offense with all the sets, and will give opponents issues. But can he recruit well enough to return the Huskies to the top of conference again? THAT is the question...because if he cannot--they slide into becoming another "Cal."
  19. He is very comfortable with who he is, and that is part of the “genuine” vibe people feel from him. Refreshing!
  20. No. It is just that he is a big recruit, and when 5-Stars have epic fun at Oregon...it is a good vibe. We are on a great track with Lanning!
  21. This is the vibe I was referring to...
  22. Completely agree. Who knew our pinnacle under him would be the Rose Bowl win, when it felt like the beginning at that time? "Mario Cristobal held the Oregon offense down better than any defense since Auburn of 2010!"
  23. I am not a betting man, but you sure tempt me. No way (IMHO) that happens; he has been given positive reinforcement to the tune of 8 million a year to do it just as he did at Oregon. "I'm smarter than everyone else and 8 million a year proves it."
