I bagged on Ducks Wire with the Dye article, but this one is superb with all the quotes. Love what he said about his receivers, his gratitude toward Bo Nix, and...it sounds like this staff is making football fun again! "It’s so much fun. I get so much joy out of doing it right. And, you know, putting in all the time that I do, and then it shows up on the field. It just makes me so happy. So I mean, that’s part of the reason I’m out here enjoying the sport. So much is because I’m really like obsessed with what I do.”

Travis Dye on Transfer to USC: "It was Tough"
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
He better make the most of next year, because I do not think he will be super-welcome at former player/alumni meetings in future years. Thanks for what you did here, Travis, but you are going to be remembered as a traitor in the end. Going for the NIL may not work out so well... -
Travis Dye on Transfer to USC: "It was Tough"
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Another Ducks Wire blah-blah article with quotes from the other day--and this nonsense about "being close to family?" If he makes an NFL roster....how close will he be then? So this is being close to family for ONE YEAR? I think he lapped up NIL... -
Fantastic! Now let's go kill-it with your speed Patrick!

I had to pass this along, although it is much more applicable in the SEC than here...

Is Ware Going to be the Answer to Oregon's BIG Dreams?
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Prehm makes a good point; it takes a year or so to become a dominant force. None of those guys started that way... (Well, Bol Bol wasn't around long enough for us to see) Jordan Bell -
Amen Duck-Brother, as we are hearing the most encouraging things about our offense since....Willie Taggart! (Before you snarl....even with Herbert hurt--Taggart scored more than Cristobal averaged over his four years) Under Chip/Helf, we took it for granted and loved it. And to me...the code for "creating matchups" means the passing game. It happens with a slot WR on a linebacker or safety for example, or a speedy running back beating a covering linebacker down the sideline for a wheel route. Fun to watch for!

Coach K’s Final Karma for Unethical Behavior Ends Career
Charles Fischer replied to AllOregon's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
We allow "commentary" about anyone/anything of a personal nature with the exception of current players and coaches. We can be negative about the player performance or coaching decisions, but we cannot get personal about current players and coaches. Everyone/everything else is fair game. While it would be nice to limit some of that--it is a nightmare enough enforcing a standard not known anywhere else on the web as it is. -
My friends, this is a fun article written four years ago, and I hope you enjoy it as I did! What the Oregon Ducks are Giving up for Lent | FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM Kim Hastings of FishDuck.com provides some humor about what Oregon fans should give up for Lent. Do click on the boxes that appear as videos because they are videos...and that first one...I just love.

I don't understand, because when I use an incognito window--I can see it. Oh well...we need a replacement for Thibs, and DJ needs to make the most of this year--so this works for all parties. --------------------------------------------------- Against Ohio State on September 11, 2021, Johnson had one of the most remarkable few minutes you can imagine for a college football player. Johnson wearing No. 12, on offense, caught a crucial third-down pass, as a tight end, with 2:41 remaining in the game to give Oregon a chance to ice the game. As a defensive lineman, Johnson ended the game with a sack of CJ Stroud a few minutes later. Johnson finished the year playing both sides of the ball, finishing with 11 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack. Those events lead us to this year and the revolving door: where is DJ Johnson playing this season? New defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi has the answer. "I know DJ (Johnson) was doing kind of a lot of things and sharing both duties and playing tight end and after evaluating the film, as to the day we decided to take this job, that was certainly going to change, in my opinion," said Lupoi on Thursday. "As long as the head coach signed off of that, I wanted DJ to play defense. So I think he's got the right mindset mentality. Obviously, having to share duties and play both ways and stuff, there's going to be some stuff that we got to improve with him. And I've been really impressed by how he's attacked the process, especially the mental aspect of the defense and the concentration to go get better. You know, this guy is on a mission to improve every day, that's obvious to me." So far, in spring practice, Johnson, faithful to Lupoi's words, has been lining up with the defensive ends/outside linebackers. He has slimmed down noticeably and looks to be ready to make his impression known. "As far as what I'm asked to do (with the new defense) it's to play how I play," said Johnson on Thursday. Johnson has certainly made his presence known to other members of the outside linebacker group, including projected starter Bradyn Swinson. "DJ Johnson," said Swinson about who is standing out so far. "He was at tight end the last few years, know he's transitioning back. It's like he hasn't missed a step. DJ came back fast, motor is fast, fast-twitch, fast get off, everything is fast. He's out there working. He's out there trying to outwork anybody running to the ball, and I'm just excited. I'm excited to see that." Johnson will be wearing No. 2 this season, lining up on defense but admits that "everything is a possibility" on where he could play for the 2022 season.

"I think they're excited to not get loaded boxes," he said. "There's nothing wrong with that philosophy it's just not the philosophy I have." Yeah, baby! DAT v Devon: Who Runs a Faster 40?
Charles Fischer replied to DuckPhan19's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
By contrast....Tyner was supposed be a sub-10.00 guy and we did not see that kind of football speed. Good speed, yes, but not like DAT or Devon Allen. -
It is what he said to his assistant coaches that would interesting to hear....as he pointed to the Bruins and said, "THAT is where I want our pitching to be in the future." He is coaching hitting superbly, and once he gets pitchers here like that--look out! For now, I think the pitchers we have are coached up wonderfully, and are competing so close...but in the end the UCLA pitchers did not blink and Oregon's did. We are on the right path at Oregon...better days and lots of wins ahead of us!
