  1. The wonderful part about it from my perspective? Once someone new has made the "adaption," then it becomes easy for them and I have very little moderating to do. Of course when we do we jump on it right away, and actually take action--but I rarely now have to resort to that because of this superb community that I enjoy. Some are now beginning to realize that this is the one site to come to if you have an opinion that is waaaay out on the spectrum, away from the usual. Because no matter how far-out the opinion is....everyone still has to be nice to you. And for the rest of us--seeing those out-of-the-mainstream views can help us come to a more reasonable stance with our own opinions.
  2. Thanks, and this is going to be a blast--having fun already!
  3. John Canzano is not everyone's favorite writer, but I don't link his negative ones. However these are his thoughts about of the Pac-12 Executive Committee in charge of finding a new commissioner and determining the objectives of the conference going forward and duties of the new commissioner. His impression of the Pac-12 Executive Committee: "Smart, tuned in, and a big-time Pacific Northwest feel." A Pac-12 Commissioner Candidate?
  4. Good article, and it is refreshing to read. It makes me wonder if the next step for the Chargers is huge, or if it can be made this offseason with enough draft picks, trades or free-agent signings? Yeah....I like a lot of pictures from this game!
  5. Experience counts, and I would like to think this will help overall. The article is right here, and what are your thoughts?
  6. Whoa. This is a great article with tons of information--not only about the JTT recruitment, but many other aspects of recruiting. More Instagram followers of Oregon than Ohio State and Alabama put together? Whew!
  7. I LOVE that ball movement as it creates easier shots; Graves is great about teaching the penetration of the defense and then kicking it to an open cutter or shooter. When I grew up in Corvallis...no teams passed the ball as crisply as Ralph Miller teams. Now...they had other issues, but won a ton and a big reason was his insistence on not dribbling but passing and doing so quickly.
  8. IMHO....you cannot end up in the Top 15 consistently in wins/results if you do not average at least a No. 20 ranking in recruiting. But the bottom line is that we have to perform on the field as OSU and Cal should not have beat us--as you know. Interesting that Chip Kelly is No. 3 in the conference? That is quite a change from the recent past...
  9. Boy! Eight players? I guess it is best against the Beavs, as we have a better chance to win than against Arizona, but darn--if we lose? How lucky can OSU get?

  11. I did not come up with that idea, as I have to credit the tweet. Besides...I am not sure it makes sense there anyway. California has the most Pac-12 teams and there are remote places in that state with cheap rent...
  12. And maybe that is why we did not get him, as we would not provide the McDonald's bag?
  13. Great article and some great candidates with Oregon ties... Shaw is pretty smart and could be a shrewd pick?
  14. This is a hilarious video! The same type of "experts" who knew Justin Herbert was going to be a bust give their "expert" take on Josh Allen, who is leading Buffalo in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday. There is another lesson in all of this....none of us are right all the time. Even the most informed and sagacious in any business gets their lunch handed to them on occasion, and this is why when someone posts "the" opinion of which they claim is the final say....I roll my eyes. (I personally have been humbled so many times...)
  15. Is NCAA President Mark Emmert looking into his Alma Mater?
  16. Very cool for the former Duck, and the article about the award and how this is the second Duck to receive it is right here. DeForest almost getting the Bruin handoff....
  17. Whew! Now that is a great point, and one that I kinda forgot about. The Leader... The Harrington type is what Oregon needs right now. One inside guy told me that the reason that Helfrich lost the team in 2015, is because Mariota was now gone. The team so respected Marcus that they performed well in 2014 to make to the Natty, and the leader of the team was not the coach, but Mariota. THAT is leadership...
  18. I wish 30Duck's suggestion could happen, since it is proven to work well for Division 2 and Division 3, not to mention basketball.
  19. Boy...we cannot complain about lack of respect! That is a very generous ranking considering our last performance, and goes to show that if Oregon plays well--we will be considered for the top ten much easier than in the distant past. Lee Corso always loves Oregon...

  21. That play gets to me in so many ways; note how Tyner starts in the Shotgun and then ends up going straight ahead....like a Pistol Plunge? Only the spacing is closer to the LOS, and LOOK at the hole! We did that variation of the Inside Zone Read over six years ago and both Clemson and Alabama do it currently. It is the "Bang" option out of that altered Inside Zone Read and I did an analysis of it right here; see the view from above and in front....whew! It worked so well that Cristobal doesn't need it... Thomas Tyner
  22. We have discussed the enigma of running back recruiting here, as well as in FishDuck articles such as this one, but it is a topic that is always relevant. As for DTs....we are going after one of the best in JTT, so I cannot fault MC in his recruiting efforts.
  23. This is an interesting game in that WSU is so physical, and between them, USC and Arizona--the Ducks better get ready for it!
