  1. To me, the difference is entirely the choices of the Athletic Director, as he has made the choices that have worked out for us. I always use the example of the late 70s when Oregon State had three final candidates for a new football coach and it was down to Craig Fertig, Terry Donohue and Rich Brooks. What if they had selected Brooks, and then Brooks brought Bellotti to Corvallis, who then brought Chip to the Beavers? All our history could be theirs due to a decision of the Athletic Director? But I do agree with you in that there is luck, as our AD had lucked out at times too.
  2. I think so, but I do think Mario has a bit more to prove before his salary is doubled...
  3. Thanks for the special discount Alex, and I will pin this post at the top after this weekend so people can take advantage of the savings for the Oregon State football and basketball games.
  4. Straight on, that is correct. But the key word in the Tweet was across the field, which adds distance and difficulty. Or we can disagree; no biggie.
  5. Gosh Utah....I just love your takes on topics. Your observation above about Shaw points out ANOTHER area of Cristobal that none of us give enough credit to, and that is while Cristobal isn't 100% at hiring coaches--he is pretty darn good at selecting and recruiting them. Count our blessings!
  6. Oh gosh it is great to have basketball back! And our Ducks are going to do a TON of winning! 7 footer Isaac Johnson in the background and JC All-American transfer Rivaldo Soares as No. 11.
  7. This is kinda cool...do turn up the sound and catch Joe Moorhead at the end!
  8. You gotta see it to believe it!
  9. Not many expected Noah Sewell to be this good at pass rushing, but it is another pleasant surprise on defense!
  10. Mario Cristobal and Staff Evaluating Redshirt Decisions With Big Matchups Looming by John Rustic of Ducks Digest The article above filters down to the most difficult redshirt decisions for Cristobal... Oregon Ducks Mulling Potential Redshirt Candidates by James Crepea of OregonLive The article above actually names the 21 players left who could redshirt, as well as offer more quotes from Cristobal about his redshirting decisions.
  11. At least Ohio State and Oklahoma are on that list too! College Football Picks, Games, Odds for Week 11: Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon on Upset Alert by Shehan Jeyarajah of CBS Sports
  12. I always like their takes on games and he brings up some good points. I also like his prediction, even if I think it will be closer... Washington State vs. Oregon Football Prediction and Preview by Kyle Kensing of Athlon Sports

  13. I am still basking in the glow of beating the Huskies, and Mario is 3-0 against them and is swatting away the challenges.
  14. It's at 8:00 PM tonight PST on the Pac-12 Network! The fellow in the picture above is Jacob Young, younger brother of Joseph Young who was quite an All-Star for us years back. Well Jacob looks to be bigger and thicker, but he showed us that he has the "Young" touch the other night as he was a good shooter. I love this cross-over time period between football and basketball.
  15. As you can imagine....if anyone is in full agreement with that statement--it would be me! Great to see you Notalot, and nice to have another astute view from South Carolina.
  16. Thanks Alex, as part of the fun of being a fan is watching a newbie have a game where he realizes..."I can do this. I can play at this level." After he gets that confidence--look out. We saw that happen with Bradyn Swinson and Jeffrey Bassa on the defense and it is great to see!
  17. In the process of renewing my season tickets for 2022--I told them my story and about how FishDuck and the OBD forum are 'killing-it in page views right now, and the AD came back with a ticket special to pass along. Usually it is for a local business and their employees as a way to finish out sales of tickets and it is a way of saying "thanks" to those who advertise with the Ducks and have a business relationship. My contact knew of the sites, and felt that yes, we have been Ambassadors of Oregon Football, and thus this ticket discount offer is available to all who read this post. Go to right here to buy the discounted tickets, as this break on ticket prices is applied to the Oregon State home football game, in addition to the Oregon State Mens Basketball game as well! I hope this gives you incentive to fill the stadium to cheer on Our Beloved Ducks! And have a blast singing "SHOUT" at the end of the third quarter! And watch Will Richardson and Our Beloved Ducks have a very special year!
  18. All white pants are blah....I do like a stripe!
  19. In his first couple minutes of action--he created two defensive plays! A blocked shot and he took a charge!
  20. Four who are 6'11" and taller...when Dante returns in 6 weeks. Post player depth like we've never had...
  21. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! You know...some things just don't work out as planned....
  22. Is it Mr. Green-Jeans time? (You have to be old-as-dirt to understand that reference) Uniforms will announced tonight...
  23. Any help in the secondary for the Pac-12 Championship or Bowl Game/Playoff would be great! Bennett Williams Has a Chance to Return this Season; Justin Flowe Likely Out Until Spring by Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire
