Mario Cristobal REJECTED by Another OC Candidate at Miami
This would have to be THE WORST offensive coordinator position in the nation. You will look bad, and the fans will boo you. Then YOU, not the head coach will get blamed? He will be now looking for a stooge who has nothing to lose.

Oregon Football: Jarwarski Beckum Hired As Director Of Speed And Performance
This is all I ever asked for the article a few weeks ago wanting the Oregon "Brand" back, and I got vilified on other sites for it. So nice to have a GREEN REFUGE, where civility reigns--even when people disagree.

A Primer: Defensive Differences Lanning Brings to the Ducks
Coach Boles, this is outstanding to give us the basic differences in alignment that few would ever look up and understand. I had read about the "Mint" alignment, but had not done the homework to understand what it was, so THANKS for that. This is a wonderful base article that is easy to read and understand, and will be the beginning of a new section in the Oregon Analysis Library explaining the Lanning Defense at Oregon!

Oregon Football: Jarwarski Beckum Hired As Director Of Speed And Performance
(From Oregon Athletics Press Release) EUGENE, Ore. — The University of Oregon athletic department announced on Wednesday the hiring of Jarwarski Beckum as the new director of speed and performance for the Oregon football program. Beckum comes to Oregon from Ole Miss, where he spent the last two seasons as the assistant director of football strength and conditioning while working with new Oregon head strength and conditioning coach Wilson Love. “We are thrilled to have Jarwarski Beckum join us here at Oregon,” head coach Dan Lanning said. “He is a tremendous addition to our strength and conditioning staff. His experience working with Wilson Love the past two years will really allow him to hit the ground running here in Eugene. Coach Jaws has done it all in the weight room, but truly specializes in speed training and development. I am fired up to welcome Jarwarski, his wife, Davida, and their two children, DJ and London, to the Duck family.” Beckum reunites with Love and joins a staff that includes Shaud Williams and Mark Davis, who are both staying on at Oregon as assistant strength and conditioning coaches. “I want to thank Coach Lanning, Coach Love, and the University of Oregon administration for this incredible opportunity,” Beckum said. “When you think of speed and college football, you think of the Oregon Ducks. I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to play a role in continuing that tradition. I can’t wait to get to work with our elite student-athletes and the terrific staff Coach Lanning has assembled in Eugene. Go Ducks!” Ole Miss went 10-3 overall in 2021 with Beckum on staff, knocking off Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl for the second straight year and earning a trip to the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The Rebels were one of the more explosive teams in the nation, ranking in the top 20 in plays of 10-plus and 20-plus yards. Prior to going to Ole Miss, Beckum spent three seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Nevada. The Wolf Pack made back-to-back bowl appearances in 2018 and 2019. A graduate of Mississippi State, Beckum began his career as a volunteer intern at Alabama before being promoted to an assistant strength coach role. While with the Crimson Tide, he served as the speed coach for football, women’s basketball, and softball. Beckum went from Alabama to Grambling State, where he spent three seasons as the director of strength and conditioning. The Tigers football team went a combined 20-3 in Beckum’s final two seasons in 2015 and 2016, going undefeated in conference play both years and winning the HBCU National Championship in his final season before going to Nevada. Beckum helped develop seven all-Americans, 14 first-team all-conference players, and nine future NFL players while at Grambling. Beckum holds certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as USAW and USATF.

The Beginning of the NFL Minor League
Human nature is to know that the cliff is coming, but we delay and wait until we get to the edge of it....look down, and decide, "we have to come up with a solution without plunging into it." I am confident that human nature will play out; we will wait until it gets REALLY BAD, and then some event or two (the cliff) will finally prompt reform. And I will cheer Our Beloved Ducks on... NIL, Portal...no problem.

Cool! Ducks No. 16 in D1 Softball Preseason Poll
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon will open the 2022 season ranked 16thin the D1 Softball preseason poll and will be led by a couple of players ranked among the nation’s top 100 by Extra Inning Softball. Defending national champion Oklahoma led the D1 poll, released Tuesday, followed by Alabama and Oklahoma State. The Ducks were one of five Pac-12 teams in the preseason rankings, including No. 4 UCLA, No. 7 Washington, No. 15 Arizona and No. 21 Arizona State. Coming off a 40-17 record and an NCAA Regional final appearance a year ago, Oregon will be led by Brooke Yanez and Allee Bunker, who were both listed among the nation’s “Elite 100” players, Extra Inning Softball announced Tuesday. Yanez, a fifth-year senior from Ventura, Calif., was an NFCA third-team All-American and a first-team all-Pac-12 pitcher in 2021. She finished second in the Pac-12 with 268 total strikeouts and led the conference with 10.29 strikeouts per seven innings. Yanez, an NFCA first-team all-Pacific Region selection, went 22-6 with a 2.11 ERA in 2021 while holding opponents to a .185 batting average in her 182.1 innings of work. Her 268 strikeouts are third in UO single-season history, behind only Cheridan Hawkins, who holds the top two spots. Bunker, a senior from Huntington Beach, Calif., earned both all-Pac-12 first team and all-Pac-12 defensive team honors at second base in 2021. She was also named to the NFCA second team all-Pacific Region team. Bunker led the Ducks with 49 RBIs, last season and tied for the team lead with 10 home runs. She hit .342 with 10 doubles, two triples and 36 runs. She was also one of the most difficult players in the nation to strike out, fanning six times in 200 plate appearances. Yanez and Bunker are two of the seven starters Oregon returns for the 2022 season. The Ducks also return catcher Terra McGowan, who hit .308 with 26 RBIs a season ago, outfielder Hanna Delgado (.302), Rachel Cid at third base (.288, 30 RBI) and outfielder Ariel Carlson, as well as infielder Jasmine Williams (the former Jasmine Sievers), who redshirted last season, but was an all-Pac-12 player for the Ducks as a freshman in 2019 after batting .326. Season tickets for the 2022 season are on sale now. Reserved seats are $150 and general admission is $100. The Ducks open the 2022 slate against Ole Miss Feb. 10 at Fullerton, Calif.

This Sucks: Logan Sagapolu Enters the Portal
This is a blow because he was a future O-Lineman star in my mind, and perhaps he could see he may not play a lot this year, and thus is leaving? Or doesn't mesh with Klemm? Or perhaps the style of offensive lineman doesn't match-up with the new offense? Who knows?
