Who knows what to believe. It's all smoke until its done. Although many sources are now reporting it. Just for discussion. I suspect that if Colorado leaves it's not because they don't know the media deal.......they probably know or suspect and are not happy. If they leave it makes the remaining deal worse. I continue to believe Oregon needs to cut a deal with the Big 10 or ACC and bring Cal, Stanford, Wash with them. Or St and Wa St should join the mountain west. Oregon is in a strong position to demand a deal from the Big 10. If the big 10 refuse a deal, the deal with the ACC might keep ND in the ACC and the combined conference would be a power house. Travel not that bad, 3 OOC at or near home, 3 against the sisters on the west coast and 3 road games in the east with a bye before or after most of those games. IMO San Diego brings little to a national media deal except more dilution. That could change in many years, but right now their attraction is limited. I realize George K and staff have great jobs and are fighting to retain them.....but.....they don't really have a TV attractive product to sell. Wa St, Or St, Az St, Utah, Cal, Stanford either don't have a strong commitment to sports or are small markets. That leaves Oregon, Wash and Arizona to attract the eyeballs. Whether Arizona leaves or not......it's not enough to attract the kind of money to be competitive. IMO It's going to be Tuesday or Wednesday night football just to get a deal. In the long run it will all work out. Oregon is going to be in a strong conference and be a power.

IMO USC with many question marks on both lines is over rated. I love good lines......Washington, Utah, UCLA, Oregon St ought to be tough to play. I like how they were listed. Oregon has the talent.......I expect that with their level of coaching they will be in it.......or the top dog. What has me excited about Oregon is the defense. Their pass rush ought to be top notch.

Well....if it gets announced decisions can be made by the programs that will understand their reality.

With NIL and the streaming services evolving so rapidly and with so much cash..... who knows what is going to happen. One thing for sure, anyone who wants the Pacific Northwest has to come to Oregon. It is also easy to speculate that Mr Knight has a rather large foundation set up in his estate for Oregon Athletics.

I agree......I also believe USC is over rated. They have a great QB, fine receivers...but their OL did not improve much and having watched all their games.....how many times can Williams get lucky until somebody takes him down hard. The DL is also not much better. While the schedule is 1.5x over last year. They will be a good team, but elite....nah.

The story is that Rushing is getting one million per year for his services from Arizona. The Ducks appear set at DE for the next year or two anyway. Not a big deal. I'd be much more concerned if Baker goes any place else......doubt he will. I'd also be more interested in a nose tackle type that eats centers for dinner.

I believe that when all is said and done if 12 teams make the playoffs......the SEC and Big 10 get three slots each. The other conferences one slot each. With some special deal for Notre Dame. Maybe not in writing...but unofficially. Is the committee going to take a second place team in the pac 12 like, Utah, Arizona, Wa St or Washington over Auburn, Alabama, Penn St, Michigan, USC, UCLA, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma. So, staying in the PAC 12 is about the same as going to the Big 10 for opportunity to make the playoffs.

As a USC/Oregon fan......don't fall for it......this is not 2006. Oregon is definitely the superior team. USC is going to have a hard time beating Stanford, UCLA, Oregon St and Utah much less Oregon They are not being rationale.

Most national media copy each others work and seldom come out with a pick that is out of step. Lanning came to Eugene in part because he reviewed the roster and a gleam came to his eye.
