Spencer Rattler Calls Oklahoma TOXIC SITUATION
Good take and maybe? But Riley never lost more than 2 games as HC at OK. I think this is a Rattler problem far more than a systemic problem under Riley. Rattler handled getting booed about as well as did Mario.

Mario Trades Doug Fir for Palm Trees, Little Else
Any Ducks fan the least bit surprised? In 2021, did Miami boosters watch any game other than the W versus Ohio State? Make no mistake! A terrific win but it came against the worst tOSU D in decades. With the Buckeyes QB making his 2nd start.

Miami Ranked 22nd by ESPN? Right!
The ESPN's FPI? Usually does fine with the top 6. But his season? Hard to quibble with Bama, OH ST, UGA and Clemson in the top 4. But Notre Dame at 5, when it has to open at 2 Ohio State and also plays 4 Clemson? And Texas at 6! UT plays Bama OOC and was not bowl eligible in 2021. How about Auburn, another team with a losing record in 2021 and with players leaving left and right, at 10? I think Bill Connolly's SP+ metric, also up on ESPN, is a far more reliable forecaster than is the FPI. SP+ has A+M at 6, Wisconsin at 10. Auburn is 25 and Texas is not in the top 25. It does have Miami ranked at 20; BYU at 23. Oregon at 32! (BXXXXXD!) FPI has the Ducks at 23 and BYU is not in the top 25? The computers guesses are only as good as the algorithms being used by human beings. Human being and ESPN guy Mark Schalbach, has Oregon 12. Texas and Auburn are not top 25 preseason ranked. As of April, 2022, this is, of course, all complete guess work. No guru forced to make future bets modeled on the rankings so no-harm, no-foul for any of these dart throwers. The best preseason indicator IMO? The Roster Rankings after fall practice and prior to season kickoff on 9/1. Last season's Roster Rankings had Bama at #1, with Georgia being close to being T1. Ducks roster ranking was 12.

Canzano: Pac-12 Officiating Under a Spring Football Microscope
What can GK do other than fire the unqualified person overseeing the refs and also perhaps, fire Larry's guy, Merton Hanks? Another guy who is being paid well while seemingly doing nothing? I see no other option(s) available to GK? Also, especially in today's world, why not make public the person(s) evaluating the refs and a crew's post-game evaluation. Also, what are the credentials for being hired as referee and what is considered to be an adequate grade to remain employed as a referee? To David Marsh' excellent point, why can't games be speeded up by setting a time limit in which plays can be reviewed. IMO, if a call 'cannot' be overturned after two minutes of review, the call should stand and play on. How much independence and authority does GK have? He reports to a board of 12 people. Thus, he cannot change anything material without board approval. Taking the HQ remote is a great move. But look at the numbers and how could any commissioner and governing body not have accomplished this year's ago? I like GK. He 'gets 'it!' He knows the conference has to step up in CBB and CFB; and this includes how the games are reffed. But without help from the folks he reports to, GK can't make this happen on his own.

Conerly Might Not Start at Oregon this Season
At 278 pounds I doubt that he would start at tackle for any 'big time' program? By delaying his commitment he knew he wouldn't be able to be on campus for spring football. I think he is well aware that he needs a season f bulking up. If he wanted to start as a true frosh, why choose Oregon with an experienced OL? I think Conerly continues to make the smart long play.

Other than going remote with HQ, what has GK done? The person overseeing the referees is an ex military officer and not a long time college referee?

I've got the game ready to tape as I play even more bad golf. Thank you.

Dillingham Gets USC All Fired Up
Is he wrong? Is there a better CFB 'town' in the west than Eugene? Folks show up in the Coli when SC wins, otherwise?

Man, it's tough seeing all of the DL starters plus Flowe dinged up. Hopefully, these guys will all be good come the 1st game? Lots of great guys on the roster but have to stay healthier than last season. I like Lanning holding these guys except for learning the new schemes, out of spring ball contact. Need all hands on deck come 9/3.

Something that never looks better on your permanent record Chip. Great stuff. Great looking future.

Check Out the Last Sentence in this Article
He inherits a stellar QB. Like he inherited Justin Herbert. It will be fascinating to see how the O performs under Mario and new OC Gattis. Gattis won the Broyles award last season because he had a great OL and a great D that covered up many of the Wolverines errors on O. I think that Miami could get blown up at A+M in 2022? IMO, Miami will not be able to road grade the A+M D. The penultimate regular season game at Clemson should also be very interesting. I do not think the Mario hype will be proved up? However, playing in a smaller stadium, the Miami spring game is sold out.

USC Stands for Unbelievably Self Centered
The starters are fine, but the number of OL guys is so thin. The transfer from UVA will help but injuries will happen. Williams should also help. The OL gave up only 18 sacks in 2021 and that was with Dart, now at Ole Miss, playing QB. Williams is quicker and more elusive but quick enough to help out this OL? I see a flip in 2022 for SC from 4-8 to 8-4 or 9-3. Conerly was a great get for Coach Lanning. SC has not recruited 5* OL guy in 7 years!

Dont'e Thornton: Oregon's Offense will be 'Very Explosive!'
The system and scheme in CFB so matter. The prospect of bringing back the Brand is super exciting. I just hope Flowe will be day 1 good to go? And the QB that wins the competition is far more than a game manager.
-
USC is all Ducked Up
1 of 2 highly recruited Dawgs to leave the program this spring. The UGA O OL should be great and the QB returns. But lot of guys from Lanning's great season last year moving on to the NFL. And the #1 WR transferred to Bama. Shock the CFB world on 9/3? Nothing would give the Pac-12 a better bounce than OR winning 'at' UGA and Utah winning at Florida.

Does Oregon Have a New 'Saban' in Dan Lanning?
A #3 class? Your post to the football gods' ears. If it takes 3 years to be in the final 4 then he will not be close to Nick Saban. I love your enthusiasm but bringing in the #3 class at Oregon would be astounding. I sure hope your optimism is realized.

Canzano: Buckle Up--High-Stakes Case Takes Shape in Oregon Courtroom
"Years off my life?" Give me a break. This would have been laughed at 20 or fewer seasons ago. In the 60s in high school we practiced intentionally without water breaks. Smart? No. But worth $100M? Amazing, I'm 75 and still alive. Still alive when the seat belt was your Mom's right hand. Still alive without having to wear armor to ride a bicycle. Still alive while eating stuff off the shelf that wasn't labeled. Still alive when we used to hitch-hike everywhere. LOL. Let's just get to 7 on 7. Probably coed 7 on 7, sooner rather than later. Would have loved to have seen this guy hitting the beach at Normandy or hitting the beach in the south Pacific. Where is one of Charles great 'kitty-cat' GIFS when we need it. Because of my respect for the site I'm not going to use the P-word. Should anyone be practiced 'sick?' No. But this stuff is so over the top it is beyond belief. Seriously, with all of the 'junk' going on today how long will CFB or the NFL for that matter, continue to be played? 'First thing we do, we kill all the lawyers.'

Saban--Current State of College Football Not 'Sustainable'
He is in a long line of those, including Dabo Swinney, who believe that CFB as currently structured is not sustainable. You simply cannot ignore the impact that NIL and unrestricted free agency is having on the money ball sports, basketball and football. Add W VA basketball coach Bob Huggins to the list. He wants consolidation and a 32 team basketball tournament that will not spread the money asunder. Our Pac-12 commissioner has asked the member schools in the Pac-12 to step up and spend more money on CBB and CFB. But how many will or can do so?

How Difficult is the 2022 Schedule?
I think Arkansas is a decent opponent?
-
How Difficult is the 2022 Schedule?
Fascinating game in 2022, besides BYU at Oregon; Arkansas at BYU. In 2023 BYU officially joins the B12. No program will benefit more from stepping up to the P5 than will BYU. Last season the 13th ranked Cougars had to play in a crummy bowl vs UAB.
-
How Difficult is the 2022 Schedule?
NONE of these pundits understand how difficult it is to go on the road in the Pac-12 for 5 conference games. Why, because they somewhat understandably discount the Pac-12. Since CU and Utah joined the conference, no Pac-12 team has run the conference schedule. Not one. And every conference opponent is fired up when they play the Ducks. After the rivalry game, every team wants to defeat SC and the Ducks more than any other opponent. And btw, no team that played 9 conference games has ever won a playoff title. Open on the road vs a team that will be preseason ranked in the top 3. Play a team, BYU, that will be preseason ranked in the top 25 and last season finished ranked #13 by the playoff committee. And play an FCS team that is far from a cupcake. These rankings are one of the reasons the SEC teams get a mulligan. Other than Bama and UGA, of course, last season, the SEC was not all that in its bowl games.

Georgia Will Have a New QB This Fall
Sorry, the young man's name is Stetson 'The Mailman' Bennett.
