Future of the Pac-12: “Three Strikes and You’re Out?”
Great point but I for one would have been very happy if the B1G cannibalized the Pac-12 and included Oregon on the menu. The Alliance certainly did not restrict the Pac-12 from going after B12 teams. To date The Alliance has given Oregon 1 more P5 OOC game that will be played in Autzen every other year. The Alliance is split on playoff expansion with the Pac-12/B1G OK with 12 teams and the ACC wanting 8 teams.

Herbstreit Asked Mario About The Miami Job In October!
Remember Herbie calling out Miami during the opening game beat down at the hands of Bama. This criticism and the year end results under Diaz, got the Canes powers-that-be moving. IMO, Manny had the team playing hard in every game. He did have a young team that lost its starting QB and found a replacement very good young QB on the roster playing in the Sun Bowl. I was happy to see Manny land as the DC at Penn St; the Penn St DC took the VA TECH job. The Canes may have hired a better recruiter but I doubt that they hired a better coach.

Would a 12 Team Playoff Help The Pac-12?
If the proposed 12 team playoff format was adopted as recommended by the playoff review committee; or, as recommended by the Pac-12, 5 P5 champs, highest G5 ranked team in, would it help the Pac-12's CFB fortunes? After posting 2 'negative' takes on the conference back-to-back I'd like to say 'Yes,' but I cannot do so. The field in 2021 would be seeded exactly as rankings 1-12 appear in the final PO committee ranking. 1 Pac-12 team in the field, Utah and the Utes would be ranked 11. 1 ACC team. 1 Independent. 1 AAC/G5, 3 SEC, 3 B1G, 2 B12. And with the manner in which the conference is (not) recruiting and with continuing to play 9 conference games, I do not see the above conference representatives varying much if at all? Pretty much count on at least 3 SEC and 3 B1G teams being in the field every year.

Ducks still Playing in the Alamo Bowl. For now.
Any idea what 'not at practice' means? I agree with Finebaum, these games are becoming more of a pain than a reward for a terrific season.

Paul Finebaum and the Sick State of Bowl Games
To date - Hawaii, Military and Fenway Bowls canceled. Rutgers replaces A+M in the Gator Bowl. WAZZU still looking for an opponent after the Canes go MIA. UTEP would make sense but the Miners has already played a bowl game and lost and the UTEP coach is not interested. Maybe civic pride and the CBS $ will entice the Miners to suit up?

Future of the Pac-12: “Three Strikes and You’re Out?”
Good stuff. Based on the location of and compared to many the B12 team, Portland/Eugene, Denver, San Francisco/Oakland and Salt Lake City (B12 covered by BYU?) are all good sized markets. Tucson is a decent sized market. I was surprised to learn that OK City and Tulsa combined (per Andy Staples) is the 4th largest TV market in the country. Could have had OK ST but, oh well.

UTEP has already played in a bowl game and lost but obviously, if the team isn't totally dispersed and they want to play another bowl game this would work.

Ducks still Playing in the Alamo Bowl. For now.
If they play like an NFL roster, even the Urban-less Jags, it's all good. Lots of bowls being COVID canceled.

Las Vegas Bowl- ASU vs Wisconsin - Opt outs have ASU coming into the game without its top 2 RBs, its two starting CBs and its best LB.

Is Oregon A Quarterback Spoiled Program?
We'll see if Michigan cracks the mold with McNamara, from Reno, at QB starting against Georgia? For the most part, you do not win the playoff with a QB who is isn't going to at least get a long look from the NFL. If Stetson and not Bennett starts for UGA, Georgia is in a similar position to Michigan. Interesting that in 2021 only 1 starting QB, Bama's Young, looks to be an NFL losk.

Miami, due to COVID cases, will not play Washington State in the Sun Bowl. Finding a replacement team is unlikely. Pac-12 gets a bowl 'win!" CAL OL starter Mettauer has transferred to Oklahoma. ASU RB Trayanum is returning to Ohio, he is from Akron and will play LB for Ohio State. UVA OL starter Haskins has transferred to USC. Nice pick up by Riley who needs O and D line help.

How did the Ducks Really do this Season?
1-2 vs top 25 competition and a loss to one of the worst teams in CFB. And midgets were allowed to take many the game to a 1 score differential. IMO, a C- at best.

Lanning to Call Plays for Bulldogs CFB Semifinal
I certainly hope we see him call a far better game than he did vs Bama? Auburn had 7 sacks vs Bama. The all-world UGA D, ZERO. Young had all day to throw the ball and the dormant Bama run game came to life. Bad showing by Lanning and his D. Michigan has guys on both LOS good enough to defeat UGA. Especially if Stetson and not Daniels plays QB for the Dawgs.

It's Boxing Day, So why not Grant us a Wish Come 2026 and let the SEC go and Restore the Rose Bowl to Where it Belongs?
ESPN certainly has 'power' over the ACC. It owns the ACC's media rights through 2036 and of course, owns the ACC Network. SC in 2022? To have a big time 2022, the Trojans will have to pull a Michigan State portal job. MI ST brought in 40 mew players from the portal in 2021! Riley is recruiting lights out to date with the 2023 class. At least, at the skill positions. Maybe QB Williams and more Sooners will portal to SC after the Alamo Bowl? The boosters who anted up with Riley's salary now have to come with big LA/Hollywood based, NIL deals.

Move to a new track?

Future of the Pac-12: “Three Strikes and You’re Out?”
SPOT ON! The City of Pasadena has acknowledged the issues you so perfectly presented and are taking steps to update the stadium. What happens if the playoff field goes to 8 or 12 and the Rose Bowl refuses to give up its 1/1 5PM kickoff slot? The Rose Bowl could become no more than the Holiday Bowl?

Future of the Pac-12: “Three Strikes and You’re Out?”
Spot on. What really surprised me and frankly ticked me off, was Kliavkoff not swooping in to add B12 teams and in the process. killing off a P5 competitor. I thought a new day was dawning? Instead SSDD.
-
Future of the Pac-12: “Three Strikes and You’re Out?”
I HOPE at least 1 will come calling? The Alliance in many ways is the George Kliavkoff job protection act. Now that the B1G has officially 'aligned' with the Pac-12 ,will the B!G feel an ethical obligation not to poach Pac-12 teams? Seems to me the viable opportunity as I believe it has been all along, lies with the some kind of deal for the $ ball teams, SC, Oregon, UW and perhaps others, to join the B12. You will not be able to do so or make any other kind of move once your media rights have been pledged to the Pac-12 after the date the current media deal expires.
-
Future of the Pac-12: “Three Strikes and You’re Out?”
Or perhaps Oregon and USC should looking for a new home? I'm reasonably certain that B12 commish Bob Bowlsby, would love to go coast to coast and to do so, he might give both SC and Oregon a bigger piece of the B12 proceeds? I do not believe WA ST AD Chun and the WAZZU administration do not want to be competitive at the highest level of CFB. But I do believe they do not have the money to do so. Oregon is spending far more than the majority of its conference partners and CFB and getting the same cut of revenue of the WA ST's of the conference. THIS makes zero business sense for Oregon.
-
Future of the Pac-12: “Three Strikes and You’re Out?”
Thanks friend Notalot. It's sad to see how the BCS and the so-called Playoff has elevated the SEC and so diminished the Pac-12. There was a way out of here but the Pac-12 did not pull the trigger.

Whoa! Alamo Bowl Official Surprised Me..."All-In" on the Ducks..??
YES! But I hope we don't fall on the Stoops? Stoops has a whippy vs Oregon and the onside kick. Will the Ducks be ready to play for an interim coach about to head to Miami?
