  1. With the Pac-Whatever that was the last 'conference' to approve the change from 6-6 to 5-7, and having a veto power along with the other G5 conferences, we will not see significant if any, change next season as would be approved by the Power 4. The B12's beef over a G5 team being seeded ahead of ASU was legitimized in the PO 2nd round. No unanimous vote is required in 2026-27 with the B1G and the SEC holding more voting power than the other conferences. Seeding will be 'As Ranked.' If this was the case this season, OBD would have played the winner of No. 9 Boise State at No. 8 Indiana. 🤔An OBD or Indiana Rose Bowl win would have meant another $6M for the B1G and another $3M in travel expenses for the victor. Chip Kelly told John Canzano that he planned for a 16-game season and called plays accordingly. I guess at the start of the season Chip knew tOSU was in whether it won the conference title or even played in the Conference Champ game. Now, about the 3rd quarter malaise and being the B1G Champion. 😜
  2. Thank you, OD. Great research. Bud Elliott, now with 247 Sports, introduced the Blue Chip Ratio in 2013. The formula worked for every college championship game played before 2013, worked in 2013, and for every season since 2013 including 2024-25. OBD had it won a BCS title or won a 4-team playoff title would have upset the Blue Chip Ratio cart. College Football has always been about the Jimmies and the Joes and always will be. Nick Saban won titles on Signing Day. He capitalized on the talent he brought in but Bama rarely had a roster ranked lower than its opponent's roster. In today's world of NIL and free agency, I believe that composite rankings including transfers ranked at the time of transfer, not coming out of high school matter. At the time they transferred Will Howard, Riley Leonard, Gabe, and Derrick Harmon were not 3* recruits. And in 2024-25, they weren't paid like 3* recruits. I believe it was Coach Saban last night who noted that transfers and returnees who could have gone pro are paid more than mid-level draft choices entering into their second contract. It seems, at least to this old-timer, that the script has flipped overnight from 'student-athletes' having no control to Athletes driving today's CFB bus. No wonder Nick decided to get off the bus. Rivals ranks transfer classes in addition to recruiting classes but I believe Rivals has not released a combined ranking as has 247 Sports and other services. There will be variances in the rankings but experienced college players should be easier to evaluate than players coming out of high school. When it comes to NIL, Division Street does not take a back seat to any collective. The seniors who returned to play for Ohio State were going to play one more year of college ball in Columbus and nowhere else. Nine transfers visited Oregon in the first portal go-round and Oregon signed all nine including the No.1 ranked OT and the No. 1 ranked Safety. I'm certain the Isiah World and Dillon Thieneman had more than one offer. Dan is working hard to bring top talent to Eugene. The kind of talent Ohio State has brought in year after year. The kind of talent that returned to Ann Arbor with Champion Michigan having the most players drafted in 2024, and returned to Columbus and Champion Ohio State which will lead the league in draft picks in 2025. The B1G finished the Playoff 6-3, with $2.55M for every team. Also, every team that traveled to a game received $3M expense money for every trip. That's $9M in expenses loot for THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. I trust that the Buckeyes did not fly Coach. 😁 Beat the Bobcats!
  3. Is that Tyler's bodyguard sitting behind her and did she forget to brush? 🦨
  4. THE Ohio State University. QB with more than 4,000 yards passing. 2 WRs with over 1,000 receiving yards. 2 RBs with over 1,000 rushing yards. This was accomplished with a banged-up O-line that lost an AA tackle and an AA center and has had almost every game different O-line starting combinations including tonight in Atlanta. Res Ipsa Loquitur. I believe in OBD but the B1G King is still the King. The team with the No. 1 Blue Chip preseason roster won it all. It's always been and always will be about the Jeremiahs, Willies, Jacks, and the next star-up Joes. Hats Off to Chipper and Day! Big Ten All the Way!
  5. A win 😍and a cover 🤑. And Bad Big Boy B1G has won the last two titles. Never happened in the BCS or 4-team PO era. Hats off to Ryan Day and hoping this will keep his unspolled critics at bay. Hats off to Notre Dame for fighting like the Irish on pay-check night. 🍻 These sure looked like the 7th and 8th seeds going at it, right? 🙃 OBD Fans! Wait Until Next Year! Moore to Moore for another score!😁

  7. SPOT ON. In the history of sport, has a No. 1 seed been abused by the PO format as OBD was this season? The 7th seed vs. the 8th seed for the championship would be major news if the world did not see how badly the format was fouled up. One more year before Tony and Greg get the format fixed. Mountain West Commissioner Gloria Nevarez thinks the format is 'perfect.'🤔
  8. Excommunicate Stephen A., eh? ESPN analyst buries Notre Dame, calls program "irrelevant" since 1988 SATURDAYBLITZ.COM Stephen A. Smith had some things to say about Notre Dame fans, and let's just say he didn’t hold back. During a recent episode of First Take, he compared the F

  10. Moore to Moore for another score! And I like the 2025 schedule. BEAT THE BOBCATS!
  11. I want the Buckeyes to blow out and blow up the Domers but are the stars aligned otherwise? The luck of the Irish to date has had 4-leaf clover quality to it. Play 4 G5 teams, one-third of your schedule, no problem. You're still in the Playoff mix even though the ACC, your football pinata, and the SEC require its teams to play at least one P4 team out-of-conference. Notre Dame played two true road games in 2024. Notre Dame drew one of the easier paths to the title game, tonight's game will be the 16th and not the 17th game for the Irish by design. The starting quarterbacks for both Georgia P4 teams did not suit up against Notre Dame. ND opened the game up vs. Indiana with a 98-yard TD run and has been futile rushing the ball since. All-American Abdul Carter was blowing up the Domers O before he had to leave the game with an injury. And drawing a Penn State team coached by James Franklin in the semifinal game; well, what went down in the second half was predictable. (And Alex, is that a photo of Marcus vs. Ohio State from 2015 😩 ?) It's MLK Day (rest in peace Noble Sir) and Marcus (Hmmm?) Freeman, hats off to you Marcus, outside of HBCU games, is the first person of color to serve as the head coach in a college championship game. 👌👍❤️ However, I believe the luck of The Irish disappears tonight at the hands of the team with the best roster in college football that has played to its talent in two of its three playoff games (😒) to date and was able to overcome numerous self-inflected wounds in Dallas. BUCKS - 35 YOU'RE OUT OF LUCK - 20
  12. Friend Gat, you won the Snow Bowl!😎 Hats Off. Especially to PSU grad Saquin Barkley.
  13. As noted above, it's Steiney's 3rd season in Eugene coming up. Dan comes from programs where D won games and the O Chipped (Sor😛ry ) in. So, I think Stein is doing exactly what his boss wants him to do. Doing what Dan learned from NFL coaches he reached out to in a season where OBD could have played 17 games, those who coach teams that play 17+ games a season. OBD is a CFB team that does not frequently use its QB in RPOs. The longest run from scrimmage in 2024 was a 54-yard run by Gabe not by design, but when he scrambled. I believe, for it's worth, that Gabe should have played in a more QB-run-friendly O this season. The O was opened up vs. tOSU. Otherwise? Get the lead and throttle down for the win. Just Win Baby is the NFL mantra and also the style of play when Dan coached in Dixie at Bama and UGA. Unless the mindset changes, I do not think we will see a change in the ball control, defense-oriented paradigm. 35-6. Why change it up? If you want more wide-open O look to Dan and not Will. IMO, FWIW, OBD has to start taking advantage of the stud-recruited WRs and press 'the edges' in the run game more than we have seen. I think JJ and the O-line in a predictable run game O did as well as possible in 2024.
  14. Another great take. Thanks, Mike. I am having doubts about whether the House case settles and whether it should settle. As I have inquired before, why doesn't the NCAA file BK? As part of the Plan of Reorganization, the NCAA asks the Federal BK court as part of the settlement for the same antitrust protection Congress provides the NFL. Also, as part of the Plan, include a solution for Title IX issues. The House settlement accomplishes NOTHING but a settlement with the House class of plaintiffs. No other existing suits against the NCAA sounding in antitrust now or in the future are barred. $2 Billion for this? INSANE! This Plan of Reorganization appealed to SCOTUS and affirmed by the Supremes, would be an end run around Congress and its reluctance to give college sports the same protections afforded to NFL/MLB/NBA/NHL multi-billionaires.
  15. A Break Down of the Title Game. All you wanted to know (and then some?) PLAY BALL. I know it is hard for them to agree on the best way to boil an egg but the CFB powers-that-be (not you Pac-2) need to shorten the playoff. The field was selected and seeded on December 9th, 2024. And the title game is being played on January 2025. 🤓 SDS' Ultimate CFP Championship Preview: At the end of the grind, was it Ohio State all along? - Saturday Down South WWW.SATURDAYDOWNSOUTH.COM Ohio State vs. Notre Dame: Matt Hinton analyzes every key aspect of the Playoff national title game and predicts the winner.

  17. I ain't LION. How did Detroit look after having a Bye and playing at home and not in Pasadena?
  18. I ain't Lion. How did Detroit look after a bye and Playing at Home instead of in Pasadena? Ryan Day and Chip got the all-time break. An all-time chance at redemption. Until this season, 2-loss Ohio State is not in the BCS or the 4-team Playoff field and Michigan is the final game of the season.
  19. Friend Gat. How About: NO! He's Herm Edwards without the smile and the coach whose record says what he is without Tommy Boy. UNC got away with widespread cheating. The Tar Heels will not get away with hiring a Mack Brown clone at $10M per year. But the $$$ should keep Bill's granddau, er, girlfriend from having tar between her toes.
  20. Chip's a Boston (Manchester, NH) Irish guy. Busting chops is in his blood. Hopefully, we'll see if Chip is correct on 12/6/25 in Indianapolis. Danno will, no doubt, save a copy or two of Chipper's take. 😁 The 12th guy on the field did not cause Chipper and Will Howard to brain cramp on the last play of the game. Perhaps Chip and Ryan should have known the rule and known that the clock would run once the ball was put in play. BTW, hell of a slide by Willy Boy. 😎 Should I root for No ...? NO!

  22. Apologies for the oxymoronic title but with the discussion on OBD whether it's best to recruit and groom a QB or better to take an experienced QB from the transfer portal (Portal) I decided to check out the B1G's prospective starters at QB in 2025. (I used ESPN+'s projection for all Power 4 teams starting QBs.) I expected many of the starting QBs would come from the Portal. But I did not expect to see this. In 2025, Three projected starting QBs will be homegrown. Fifteen of the starters will have joined their team from the Portal. 83.33% of the B1G 2025 QB starters Portaled-In. HOMEGROWN - MINNESOTA - Drake Lindsey - RS Freshman - Lindsey at 6'5" and 230 lbs. should have no trouble seeing downfield. Lindsey is a product of Fayetteville High School, Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was the MaxPrep 2023 Player of the Year in Arkansas and led Fayetteville to a 13-0 record and the state championship. Ducks vs. Gophers - 11/15/25 - Autzen Stadium. NEBRASKA - Dylan Raiola - Sophomore - In 2024, Raiola led the Cornhuskers to its first bowl game since 2016. In the Pinstripe Bowl, Nebraska defeated Boston College 20-14. 2025 - No game scheduled. PENN STATE - Drew Allar - Senior - Allar led Penn State to the B1G Championship Game and a one-score loss to OBD. In the College Football Playoff, under Allar PSU defeated ACC runner-up SMU at home and Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl before Allar tossed a 4th quarter game-changing interception vs. Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl. 9/27/25 - Ducks vs. Nittany Lions - Beaver Stadium - University Park, PA. This could be the only game where OBD will be an underdog in 2025. As of now, OBD is -3.5.😊. STARTING 'PITCHERS' FROM THE PORTAL ILLINOIS - Luke Altmyer - RS Senior. - 2023 joined Illinois from Ole Miss. Led the Illini in 2024 to a 10-3 record, a Playoff Committee ranking of No. 20, and a bowl win over No. 15. South Carolina. INDIANA - Fernando Mendoza RS Junior from Cal. Younger brother Alberto is also a QB on the Indiana roster. In 2023, Fernando finished with close to 3,000 passing yards and was one of the top-rated QBs in the Portal. 10/11/25 - Autzen Stadium - Indiana is +750 on the Money (Not the Mendoza) Line. Equals an 11.76% of winning. IOWA - Mark Gronowski (Not Gronkowski!) RS Senior - South Dakota State - MG was a four-year starter for the SDS Jackrabbits. During his tenure in Brookings, South Dakota, he led SDS to a 49-6 record, and two FCS titles, while throwing for over 10,000 yards. Not too shabby. 11/8/25 - Ducks vs. The Hawkeyes - Kinnick Field Iowa City, Iowa. MARYLAND - Justyn Martin - RS Junior - UCLA - I Got Nothin' 🤪 2025 - No game scheduled. MICHIGAN - Mikey Keene - RS Senior - Fresno State - QB Davis Warren remains on the roster and the flip of QB Bryce Underwood from LSU was one of 2024's top recruiting stories. Wolverine fans hope Mikey will be a good placeholder before Bryce sees the field. 2025 - No game scheduled. MICHIGAN STATE - Aiden Chiles, Junior - 2024 from Oregon State. Chiles was erratic in 2024 just as he was in 2023 at Oregon State. Will he and Coach Smith figure it out? 2025 - No game scheduled. BACK TOMORROW (I HOPE ☺️) WITH OBD and the Balance of the B1G.
