It would seem the offense is in need of some type of major shake up. It seems clear that Verdell is out for significant time, and Brown simply isn't getting it done. Starting a new QB could be just the kick our young team needs. And a bye week before a home game is just the place to do it! Watching that game Saturday, I wondered why we even put receivers in the game?! AB never threw downfield to one! And what's with the TE's not looking for a pass?! Twice! I've been a a staunch supporter of AB but now is the time to change if ever there was a best time. And it's time to see some serious game planning by the OC. If I can read the play, then it's really bad. Change is needed now. We have become boring to watch.

I don't disagree with you Charles, but for the sake of discussion, OC Morehead was absent. Wasn't the play calling worse than usual?

Several injuries, serious ones too, and many slips by players, is real grass the problem? Very few stadiums at any level use real grass. Players aren't used to it. Is this an issue worth pursuing for player safety?

You're correct again Charles. It's time for Mr. Thompson to take the reins. I too thought AB could get it done, but alas, not so. With CJ most likely gone for the season, we need a qb that can throw the ball down field. Having 2 weeks before a weak Cal game seems the perfect time. Be a head coach MC, make the change!

Yes, Cristobal is the perfect "college" coach! You nailed it!! Is he a perfect coach? No. But that's not what you're saying. Cristobal is loyal. He won't be leaving for greener pastures. Parents love him. Boosters love his enthusiasm. Coaches like working for him. Players love him! We win LOTS of games! Think about it, in 3 years he has 2 Pac 12 championships, a Rose Bowl win, and best recruiting classes 3 years in a row!! Yes, we haven't been scoring tons of points, and yes, our losses have looked bad, but it's only been a few years. Do we want to go back to years with Helfrich?! I think the best point you make is the last one, not going to the NFL. Keeping someone with Mario's attributes around for a long time seems very enticing. If we maintain recruiting like this for more years to come, I don't think we will be whining on this site about a lack-luster offense. I think we will be wondering why coach Cristobal isn't paid more!

I agree that anything from 12-0 to 8-4 is possible for this 2021 season. And it's hard to know how much of last year to be considered as info for this year. It's hard to dismiss those games against Cal and OSU. I also can't stop thinking about how bad the bowl game was...! I project Chip and UCLA to beat USC. They get their QB back and I think that team is finally figuring it all out. USC got too many lucky bounces. I see the north being wide open, and UCLA and ASU in the south. Now, if our offense gets going... Ducks win! Ducks win!

Thanks Drake, What I love so much about that video is all the memories it illicits. Even today we park on the school side so we can take the footbridge. One day we will win it all...but even then, all the memories will be the best part.

TT has a new OC. Shough has a new start to his career. I think it will be a great fit. I don't think he will compete for the Heisman, but I think most of us will be surprised by his numbers there. And I'll take Tyler in his rematch with ISU.

I am amazed at the conviction of so many that after only 6 or 7 games you are so sure TS can't cut it at the D1 level. I think he was not given a fair shot. The Fiesta Bowl coaching was a confusing debacle. Yes, the Cal game was not good, but that defense stymied NFL ROTY Herbert last year. There just isn't enough game evidence to make a fair analysis of what the ceiling is on Shough. Especially from the weird 2020 season. I hope he lands at a good place and has a monster career. And proves to the naysayers we judged too early.
