  1. Yes, Happy Thanksgiving to all. I for one am thankful to Charles & Co. for all they do to make Fishduck.com such an amazing place. I love it. Enjoy the day, family, friends and get ready for a beat down of those pesky pups to the north!
  2. That was a great explanation. I hadn't noticed Dante pivoting right side when it was live. Though it also looked like USuC linebacker #18 was bored on the play. I have never seen our Bryce Boetcher chase down a play with such a lackluster effort.
  3. Chipper is best seen in the rear-view mirror. We love what he did here, but what has he done since? Or Taggert? Or Mario? Lightning won't strike twice. I think JJ is correct, there will be many openings and others willing to bet on that 2nd lightning strike. For us, it's "in Lanning we trust". I'm sure he has several names in his little black book of potential coaches. He will develop his own coaching tree. Now, huck those fuskies!
  4. Who named it the Cascade Clash?! I mean, it's not bad, but I didn't get a vote! It's more like a Border War than clash. I'm just glad coach Lanning realizes the importance of this one, and wants the win as bad as we do. I don't believe in cruelty to animals, so we best put these mutts down fast! Sco Ducks! Whip them puppies!
  5. For a walk-on qb to make backup in this day and age is amazing. This is no disrespect to Novosad or Moga, just amazement at the effort by Thomas. From what little we've seen from those two, it's clear we think they could manage playing D1 football. What an example of "never, never give up". It will be interesting to see what happens in the transfer portal. Akili Smith Jr is more than capable, young Beaver is promising, someone (something) has to give(go). We will see. Meanwhile, we know coaches have a keen eye for qb's. We seem to be in capable hands.
  6. No "ill will" someone said? His defenses when DC injured at least 3 of our qb's over the years on questionable hits. I don't forget or forgive that kind of culture. Yeah, maybe a perfect Beavis.
  7. CONFIDENCE! I believe we play our best game of the year so far. It's time for a statement game. Sco Ducks!
  8. Woo hoo! 250 yds passing 300+ rushing Bury the sword in their a#$z
  9. I am hesitant to admit this, but I am totally weary of uniform-reveal-Wednesday. I seldom am thrilled with the choice. But my opinion matters little. Apparently the players love it, so...it is what it is. I remember the first black uniforms, against USuC years ago on Halloween weekend I think. When the team came out of the tunnel the fans went crazy! I was there. It was amazing. Here's hoping that these black uni's bring back those good vibes and we crush the condoms!
  10. Oregon 45 - 7 2 t/o 4 Saks 231 yds pass
  11. Officiating is difficult, at any level. That said, I believe unequivocally that the officiating at Iowa was horrendous. Just horrible. Glad we got the win. We are definitely "that team out west". I believe we will soon, if not already, become team most hated by all in the B1G.
  12. I know the press claims our red-zone defense is worst in the country, but no one mentions we are top 3 in not allowing teams into the red-zone! The best red-zone defense is to not let them get there in the 1st place. We are definitely better then we sometimes give our guys credit for.
  13. Hearing announcers question our "toughness" every week is like hearing the comments "catch by Tez Johnson, he's Bo's brother" each and every time, it's annoying. This game was won by our D-line and our O-line. Well done boys. Get home. Get some sleep and let's reload to crush them Gophers!
  14. Most people don't like change. But change is inevitable. Because the B1G has so many teams, we don't get to play each team each year. It will take quite a while to develop new rivalries. However, I already sense a growing dislike from most teams due to our immediate success. I think Oregon is fast becoming that team out west to hate! I do miss being able to drive to away games, but I'm loving the new teams and new stadiums. I love the new teams. It's like every week is a Rosebowl game. Because of all the money now in college sports, we can expect more change to come. Expanded playoffs? Super conference? NFL lite? Whatever comes, as long as our Ducks are included, I'm all in.
  15. Not all teams are paying 4+ M!!
  16. You have to wonder just how long boosters will be willing to buy a QB each year?! They don't seem to be worth the huge cost.
  17. Not trying to be political, but a congressman getting paid while the government is shutdown, has a lot of nerve telling coaches they are paid too much. I agree they are over paid. But like a CEO of a big company, the responsibilities are huge and demands compensatory pay. Too me the problem is the buyout. That's on the individual university. The demands for winning, and now the National championship demands, the schools are as greedy as the coaches agents. Good luck with this even getting a serious look in congress.
  18. Uniforms were decided last year. They are already planning next year. It's as much marketing as anything else. Any player coming to Oregon knows all about the cool threads. I can't believe for an instant it's a distraction to anyone, except us fans. It's also very clear you can't please everyone all the time. We are 7-1. Ranked in the top 10, with NO, ZERO top wins. Say what you will, but the PSU win has lost some shine. We are fortunate to be ranked so high. We have 4 games left against solid opponents that will determine not only how good we are, but also our season. And whether we deserve our ranking. I think our offense in the last few games is a reflection on our young QB. I'm not dissing Dante, he is, and will become, a great talent. But reading good defenses at full speed is a real learning curve. Calling out changes to blocking schemes, making his progressions, anticipating receivers open, being patient 1 or 2 seconds longer...it's clear he is still growing and learning. I believe his best is yet to come. And we have 4 more regular season games to prove it. We have been spoiled the last 3 years by superior qb experience. Now we grow with Dante. Let's GO DUCKS! Crush the corn eatin' Hawkeyes!
  19. I thought rain might keep the score down...but the offense was flat again. Use the off week well my Ducks.
  20. Oregon 35 - 7 2 - t/o 3 - Saks 217 yds pasd
  21. Timing often is everything. Last year Lanning & Co coached 1 egg of a game, in the playoffs against tOSU. So far this year, against Indiana. Let that be our learning curve. We have some solid games left after this week. Any let-downs could result in a loss. The PSU collapse doesn't allow us any leeway. Those final 4 games will prove our mettle and convince us all how ready our Ducks are. I don't think any team yet has shown the consistency and talent to go all the way. No one team, IMO, looks dominant. This year's playoffs will be the determining factor and our Ducks are as capable as any team so far.
  22. Are we even allowed walk-ons now? Aren't we at 105 scholarships and no walk-ons?
  23. OK, my bad. I was thinking Brock was the Weipert kid Charles wrote about. This is BT's 3rd year at Oregon. Some of what I said still applies. Sorry for my confusion.
