Note How FEW Recruits Oregon Has on Ranking Board...
Dr Hilarius replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
And we’re tied for the 3rd with tOSU in average player ranking, behind FSU and LSU. Having an average of 4 stars means we have the same number of 5 stars as we do 3 stars. Oh, and our 3 stars are both large linemen, for whom 3 stars can still be eite. Our lowest ranked non-lineman is the 21st best corner in the country. Not too shabby. All of tOSU’s 3 stars are skill players. I am much happier with our class than I would be with theirs. -

Oh Good Grief! Such Sensitive Duck Feathers!
Dr Hilarius replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I gotta say, I do prefer being an underdog. But that’s just my inferiority complex that I have yet to shed since the pre-DL days. Big expectations are great of we can beat them. -
U$C Loses Their No. 1 Recruit, More to Follow?
Dr Hilarius replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I love how U$C fans are blaming NIL _again_. *saracsm below* Why else would someone flip from U$C to GA? U$C has better coaches and a better culture. -
Is Your Duck Heart REALLY That Sensitive?
Dr Hilarius replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I can’t wait to see the BiG D stats after 4 PAC offenses join the fray. And I can’t wait to see OBD’s D stats after a slate of boring BiG offenses. -
Almost as sad as not getting to see Sabrina, Ruthy, and Satou win their ring.

While he’s only a 3-star, stars are less relevant to linemen. The stars represent potential for immediate impact. A lot of linemen need better nutrition and weight training to reach their potential. But you can’t teach size and brains. And this guy’s enthusiasm is a big plus—he’ll work hard and be a great teammate.

Recruiting: Are You Less "Into It" Than Before?
Dr Hilarius replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Think of it this way… If Dante Moore had been a Helfrich recruit, we would have all been in breathless anticipation when he committed. Instead, I was excited about and focused on DG, and DM landed as an incredible bonus. -

Recruiting: Are You Less "Into It" Than Before?
Dr Hilarius replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I agree @Charles Fischer For me, it’s because in the past there were so few blue-chips interested in OBD, that anyone who had us as a finalist was a big deal. Now we have several blue-chip options at every position, so not much to worry about. And the portal is so fun because there’re all these great players I’ve never heard of. I especially love the transfers from obscure lower division schools. You know if DL and crew want them, they must be badasses. The portal doesn’t have as much hype as HS recruiting and the recruiting periods are way shorter. I often don’t even know someone has entered the portal until they’ve committed. -
