  1. If Buffs beat the spread do they rush the field? My money is on yes.
  2. The Herberts, Tyners and Lyerla's of Oregon go to UO. That also counts
  3. I believe they have legal obligation of 3 games. Could be wrong though
  4. I got up at 12:45 am for work. I am not going to make it through this game with this snooze fest
  5. 52-13 Ducks 2 5 365 205 Furd with 3 scoring drives causing many to call for Lupoi's firing.
  6. 35-10 Beavus. Think Beavs will be looking to avenge last weeks loss.
  7. Oregon has been accused of being soft, complacent in the past. At times it has even looked to be true. The Mecca that is the Oregon athletic complex has been pointed to as a reason. That Uncle Phil has pampered this progr'm and the unintended result is a soft team. Lanning himself might even have thought that privately. If true, it appears DL has decided to change that narrative. Chip Kelly had "Win the Day". Dan Lanning has coined "The Standard" to communicate his vision as the Head Coach. That standard is starting to take shape. Ducks have been tested by TT, developed grit. Dominated the line of scrimmage, elite power. Locked down talented recievers, elite focus and concentration. 13 sacks, aggression. Dan Lanning lives by this standard. It is what rocketed him up the coaching ranks. It's what drew elite coaches under his leadership. His players see this, They see that it isn't merely lip service. The faith these players have in this coach is without question. It showes up in their play on Saturdays. The standard has this team playing fast, aggressive and focused. Last weekend Ducks ignored the noise, took what they needed from it and destroyed their opponent. "The Standard" seems to have many layers. Depth and weight.
  8. Perhaps this is the case, hard to know. Dickey came in at fall camp instead of spring ball. Could be that he hasn't gotten the play book down to meet the standard. There are some Dudes in the WR room. A true freshman cracking that rotation is a tall order. Especially when JD has only been there a couple months. I am not ready to tag him as a player that doesn't work hard. That would be unfair to any freshman that just arrived a couple months ago
  9. Lanning is a natural leader. Very few have those leadership Skills you see in lanning at the level Lanning possess them. I mentioned here a few months ago, I have only seen one other man with these leadership skills at such a high level. Incredibly rare. He is also brilliant when it comes to the college game. I am looking for Lanning to do what Kirby Smart failed to do. Go Ducks
  10. As long as coach Sanders is the head football coach at Colorado they will be in the headlines. Buffs got embarrassed last weekend. Coach showed humility and gave credit were credit is due. It will be interesting how both Oregon and Colorado respond this weekend. Both are in a sticky situation. Will Oregon come out focused? Will Colorado bounce back and make it competitive? The two team are at opposite ends of the spectrum with the talent they face this Saturday. How they respond after last weekend are equally important for both progr'ms. Should be a fun weekend in that reguard. Go Ducks!
  11. What?!?! Dudes a day one starter. BB has played great. Better than anyone expected. But Jacob's is a beast. 6'4" 240. High LB IQ. Stud at stopping the run. Excellent pass rusher. JJ will have to work to get into game shape and to the standard Lanning expects out of his LBs. But there is a reason Lanning went after him. Jestin is exactly what DL was looking for when he started to implement his vision for an elite defense. Getting Jacob's into the lineup is a huge advantage for the Ducks.
  12. LB Hill on Jestin Jacobs' eventual return from injury: 'I'm excited for the world to see what he has to offer' 247SPORTS.COM While transfer addition LB Jestin Jacobs has not suited up yet for the Ducks, fellow... If Jestin Jacobs gets on the field for the Furd game and can knock off some rust, it makes the Ducks that much more potent defensively. Dudes an elite backer. Big, fast and strong. As is, Fusky is in for a long night if the D we saw last week shows up. Add JJ and this is a top 10 defense. Even if Jacobs only plays situational football (2nd-3rd and long) he will create massive problems for DeBore and Penix. Dude is a great pass rusher.
  13. James sold that punt so well I still can't see it coming. How he sold it to the right was brilliant. It was still pretty early in the game, but I think Lanning saw all he needed to out of the Ducks D. The D was playing different. If that fake failed, I doubt Colorado converts it to 6 and Lanning new it. Most likely outcome? Buffs get sacked outside of FG range and punt it back
  14. Well at least they got some yellow in there. I like the look. Simple and clean.
  15. Lets not forget what many of us were saying pre-season. Many of us thought the Ducks would be Pac champs and play-off bound if the D could get to a mid 30ish ranking. Currently the Ducks sit at #11. We will see if this holds as competition gets tougher. My guess is that the tougher the competion the better this D will perform. You could hear the collective hard swallow as the rest of the Pac OC's witnessed what Duck D did to Buffs last weekend
  16. Oregon is different. We can rattle off stats(which are very impressive). We can talk about depth (also impresive). We can talk about elite talent at almost every position group. But starting with the Hawaii game and showing up big in the Colorado game, Oregon seems to have that "IT" factor you see in elite championship calibur teams. It’s early but week to week, Oregon has increased their level of play by huge strides (I don't count the PSU game). The growth has been massive imo. It's a "You know it when you see it" kind of thing and Oregon seems to have it. Like I said, it's early. From where I sit I feel much better about Oregons chances with the gauntlet of games starting Oct. 14th. I feel Oregon has better than a 50/50 shot of coming though the next 8 games unscathed. Again, this just feels, looks and tastes diffent than any other year I can remember. Lanning said it himself, "substance".
  17. With the Tez scare and Noah going down, it was DL who apparently made the adjustment and cleared the bench. So it was two's and three's angainst the Buffs one's for the most part. I think if you run Ty with the one's, he looks like a compleatly different QB. So the Ducks bench held the Buffalo's elite offense (media's words not mine) to 6. It took till late in the game for them to score. The adjustments Dan made to play the youngsters said a lot about DL. He swallowed his pride and made these adjustments because of the situation. What he wanted to do was embarrass Colorado. To step on their necks untill they stop twitching. Can't blame the guy after seeing the video that was circulating.
  18. Florence's name wasn't even called. That says a ton. There could be other reasons but it tells me they weren't even targeting Florence. If you guys know more, do tell. Jacksons name was called a bunch. Dude was put on an island and he was sensational. Compleatly locked up his side of the field. I am asuming that Florence got safety help because Jackson didn't need help. Jackson was on the best WR's all night. With Sanders not having time to get past first read it made the secondary job pretty easy.
  19. I posted this over yonder. Thought is was interesting. Hope they have some smart people on this.
  20. This video says everything I have to say about what transpired the last 10 day so much better than I could ever say it. GO DUCKS!
  21. The narrative should suit the Ducks just fine. This is legit disrespect, not faux disrepect like other teams/media have claimed the past couple days. Oregon needs to play with a chip on their shoulder. They need to be nasty. They need to improve on that nasty we saw last Saturday. No more letting up regardless of the score. I don't know if it is just me but Ducks are different this year. They have an edge they need to sharpen. There is a grit to them. They are big, fast and strong. I don't know that I have ever seen them have this level of badash to them. This is going to be a great year. The rest of the Pac already hates Oregon. Let them. Stay salty and destroy everyone in your way. Get that rematch with UGA and take what you came for.
  22. The season has played out pretty much as expected to this point. The drubbing of 3 weaker opponents and a tight game in Lubbock ( didn't have to be but for a mile and a half of penatlies). What I didn't expect was the defensive performance of the Oregon D in the last game. Honestly, It looked like something Georgia would display v. bottom half of SEC teams. I started to see it in the Hawaii game. But it was Hawaii so it was hard to read. There were glimpses of what happenend last Saturday the week prior. Buffs QB had nobody open. The secondary play exceptionally well. Especially Jackson. Jackson went from the guy with the PI's in Lubbock to absolute lockdown. The front 7 absolutely destroyed the Colorado front. They were so dominant that the CO qb didn't even have time to check down. It was one read and on his backside seemingly all night long. Ducks learned how to play with focus, intensity and a nastiness last Saturday. Thats something we haven't seen in a long time. At that level, maybe ever. Such an important lesson that will be drawn on the remainder of the season. Ducks have a top defense. Maybe they didn't know it prior to Saturday. But they know it today and everything that comes with it. The offense is what we knew they were. The defense is what we hoped they could become. Play to Saturday standard set and Ducks will get a rematch with the Bulldogs.
