  1. Talents that were starters in past years will now be seen as valuable backups.
  2. Thats a quick flip. 75%? That makes this Lannings team. The "These are Mariøs guys, wait until Lanning gets his guys" no longer applies. There are some Dude's on the Lanning side of the ledger. Ducks are/could become a great team well ahead of schedule.
  3. A lot of moving parts with my scenario. Pretty complex. I think Nix could pull it off. Not sure on risk reward?
  4. You could use this play to set up your play side TE in the passing game. Release on the block have the TE from back side picking it up. Bang bang 7 yards. Risk is selling it at line without getting lineman caught 4 yards down field. Also risk holding on your receiver.
  5. I remember last spring game. Popo Aumavae was an absolute Dude. He was on pace to become a Duck legend. Then he got hurt. Hoping Popo picks up where he left off before he got hurt. If so, he could be the game changer Ducks are looking for. As a 6th year senior he could fill part of the leadership role. If you have forgotten about Popo, Hopefully this spring he reminds us all.
  6. By year 3, Lannings defense is going to be a force. We don't need the D to be Georgia next year. Just better than they were this year. With the offense Oregon will put on the field next year and marked improvement from the D, Ducks could easily find their way into CFP. Glass is half full. Lanning will be in year two as a HC. That alone will make him better. A lot of the players will be in 2nd year of defensive philosophy and scheme, again, better. Huge recruiting and portal success. I really enjoyed this year. Few bumps along the way were painful but this team exceeded my expectations. Love watching the process as Lanning "rebuilds" the Ducks is exciting. The Holiday Bowl performance has me excited for what is to come the next few years. Go Ducks!
  7. Thats a heck of a list. A few will wash out, a few will become absolute Dudes. Lanning is building a machine.
  8. Greatest bowl season I can remember. With two cherries can't wait to pound U$C into the dirt next year. Leave a permanent stain on their own 5 on RB Field.
  9. I have always liked Penn Sate white. They always look good
  10. Everything about USC this year was fake news. Every so called "expert" pumping cali sunshine should rethink their career choice. Supremely under qualified for the job.
  11. USC has shown the country today that they are not the powerhouse media tried to make them out to be. As i type SAFETY
  12. I think Keith Brown deserves a shout out. He played an excellent game. Being a local kid, hoping he takes a big step this off season. High 4 star coming out of Lebanon High School. I think it's just a matter of time before he makes an impact and take a starting roll.
  13. There are 4 to five in the pac right now that could be starting in the league in a couple years. Nice to see the pac back to being the conference of QBs.
  14. Hopefully help is on the way. Australian punter Luke Dunne commits to Oregon DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Australian punter Luke Dunne has committed to play at Oregon and will be on full...
  15. Depends on match ups. All teams being healthy, I think UO, OSU, USC, Fusky and UU would all be able to compete in a playoff with anyone. None of the games yesterday showed to be great defensive games. The CFB is much more balanced than in the past. With portal and NIL we will see college football become more competitive and evenly balanced. I think it will be proven when we move to a 12 team playoff.
  16. Do they still teach tacklers to put their hat on the ball? Do they still teach tacklers to lower the pads, wrap and drive through the tackle? Targeting is going to happen and should be 15 yards, automatic first down. The disqualification is excessive and does nothing to mitigate targeting.
  17. A man makes his own luck. It's that place where preparedness meets opportunity. Smart and his staff prepared this team and had an opportunity to win in the end. Dawgs are champions. I would love for the Ducks to play them in January 2024. Luck or otherwise.
  18. Ducks get called for targeting a lot. I don't see Lanning as the type of guy that promotes targeting culturally. Ducks aren't out there trying to end guys. Targeting happens. Most targeting calls come down to seconds and inches. Players trying to make a play. Often it's the ball carrier lowering his head to initiate contact, the defensive player gets ejected when contact was initiated by offensive player. IMO, most targeting infractions are unintended. Disqualification is automatic. Seems like an unnecessary hard line. When the NCAA isn't even consistent on what is and isn't targeting from conf to conf or game to game, it's a problem. Disqualification as a hard rule shouldn't be imposed until the NCAA gets a handle on how conferences flag targeting with some consistency. Nix was crowned in the legs... no call. Is it just offensive players they are protecting or should they be protecting defensive players as well. Nix wasn't hit in head/neck, so crown is legal there. The rule makes no sense at times, but the penalty is harsh every time.
  19. Georgia football's no-targeting call on Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. hit generates CFB Playoff reaction 247SPORTS.COM Georgia play was not targeting IMO. Pac refs got it wrong but replay fixed it. TCU got away with one. I don't think CFP wants targeting called. Especially in the semi where a player risks disqualification that possibly bleeds into the NC game. I know we have talked about this rule ad infinitum. But the penalty for targeting need a serious overhaul. Get rid of the disqualification of offending player. 15 yards and auto 1st down. Other than Fusky DB's (lol), nobody is trying to target others purposefully.
  20. I think the best 3 or 4 teams in the Pac would have been competitive. The Pac QB play this year has been some of the best in the country. If you have a QB, you have a chance.
  21. UCLA goes down. Looking for USC to get throttled. Love the beatings the Big is taking right now.
