Our secondary looks lost. Wright is far from being a shutdown corner.

I meant Seven.

Is Dollars healthy? Him or Franklin should have been running that reverse instead of Hutson.

JoMo clowned the Buckeyes D, running and scoring with the same play three times. Glad the Ducks played them early in the season.

BYU and Oregon Basketball Tonight: it's Brother against Brother
I'm not sure Altman will learn his lesson. He will still wait till the Ducks are in hole, before calling a timeout.

poor box out, poor rebounding

CFP No.3 Didn't Reveal Much
Jon, I appreciate your insight, but what happened to the Ducks are in, if they win out? Are you saying that Oregon's ticket being punched to the playoffs, hinges on Ohio State winning out as well?

BYU and Oregon Basketball Tonight: it's Brother against Brother
Yup, he coaches with the play not to lose mentality. He saves them all for the end, thinking comeback. By then, it's too late. If you watch Coach Kerr from GSW, he doesn't like something after one basket, he burns a timeout early to address it right away.

Altman should have called timeout sooner to stop the bleeding and disrupt BYU's rhythm.

Ducks are not rebounding well and missing their lay ups.

CFP No.3 Didn't Reveal Much
It would be more ideal if Ohio State loses to Michigan than Michigan State. Although, I feel like Michigan State has the better chance of defeating Ohio State, with Walker.

Rooting for Michigan State to beat Ohio State. I rather the Ducks face Michigan State or Cincy than Georgia or Ohio State in the first round. Ohio State has since changed its DC. So don't expect the Ducks to score on them three times, running essentially the same play again. I am banking on Bama losing to Georgia or possibly Auburn which should move the Ducks up to 2nd spot, after finishing 12-1. However, if Michigan State were to pull off the upset, could Michigan State potentially jump Oregon? They will have a stronger SOS than the Ducks, beating two top 10 teams.

defensive points
Bennett Williams had a pick 6 against Arizona, but yeah, I see your point.

WSU GameDay Thread: Will it be DeRuyter Day?
Either our secondary is very average or DeRuyter's play calling makes them look average. Which is it? Both?

WSU GameDay Thread: Will it be DeRuyter Day?
The problem is that the other teams are making midgame adjustments and our team is not. They wait until halftime.

WSU GameDay Thread: Will it be DeRuyter Day?
It baffles me how AB continues to throw the ball short of 1st down marker on 3rd down.

I can't remember more close games being played at home. Sad. Subpar playcalling across the board. Both Moorhead and DeRuyter better make some halftime adjustments.

2 Questions
Didn't MC supposedly hire a new special teams coach to address this problem? How are we not better at kickoffs and punt returns? Yet, every game, it seems like the other team has bigger returns. I think it comes down to scheme and blocking, which the Ducks are lacking. Most games, I can't tell if they are all just running around with their heads chopped off. It appears unorganized and ineffective. I already posed this question in the game thread, whether Wright and Pittman were our best returners? Maybe these guys aren't the best suited for this job. Wright has taken it to the house in the past, but can he consistently be a threat? Many times, I disagree with the lane they choose or their vision or they appear indecisive. Although their frame is slight, someone like Franklin or Seven, would be lethal on these returns. I watched all of Franklin's recruiting highlights, he's got the capability, with excellent vision and explosiveness, to take it to the house on these kickoffs and punt returns. He was the 3rd best WR in his recruiting class, but by my comparison, I would even say he was 2nd, behind Egbuka. The Buckeyes have already used Egbuka on a number of punt returns. So why couldn't Ducks use Franklin? Franklin was the one recruit that I anticipated would have a special, breakout season, but the lack of touches and playtime, makes you wonder, if he is even being played every game. This would be another way of getting your playmakers like Franklin, Seven, and Thorton the ball more and keeping them involved. As a frame of reference, these are the recorded times that I found for the 40 yard dash: Wright 4.48 Pittman 4.36 and 4.4 and 4.69 Seven 4.3 Franklin 4.4 Thorton 4.43 DAT 4.34 and 4.38 NFL combine time 4.5 Taj Griffin 4.31 I don't know how accurate these times are, but Seven would appear to be our fastest player with either Franklin or Pittman coming in second. I'd say let Franklin or Seven have a crack at it. I do fear them getting injured though, but that didn't stop the Ducks from letting DAT return it. This may very well be another example of MC underutilizing the talent on this team, by favoring the veterans, with more playtime. All this talent is going to waste, when they could be true assets to the team, as game changers. They would make the game easier and more enjoyable for EVERYONE.

Texas A&M May NOT Get 5-Star Kelvin Banks
Good update Charles. Hopefully, the Ducks will have better luck holding onto this one.

Pac-12 Analyst Yogi Roth: "Oregon Should Jump Two Spots and Over Alabama"
Meanwhile, Joey Galloway, the Buckeye homer, has the Ducks at #4 and his Buckeyes at #2. And the Ducks didn't even make Jesse Palmer's top 5 list. Do these guys even try to appear objective? It wasn't a pretty win, but it was more convincing than both Bama's or Cincy's wins. Bama had to prevent a Hail Mary, at the end of regulation, and Cincy was gifted a goal line fumble by Tulsa. tOSU also got away with murder AGAIN. On Nebraska's second to the last possession, there should have been a flag thrown for an obvious PI on 3rd down. If not for the complicit refs, that drive should have been extended, giving Nebraska the chance to take the lead.

Husky GameDay Thread: The Men of Washington are NOT Championship Grade
He was double teamed quite a bit in this game which opened the doors for guys like Bassa to have strong performance.

Husky GameDay Thread: The Men of Washington are NOT Championship Grade
Did anyone see what Alex was guilty of, during that play, where Dye ran the ball down to 3 yd line? I didn't see anything worthy of a flag. I call BS call by the refs.
