  1. Thorton is too much speed for WSU's DBs.
  2. TD! Good start to second half! Way to answer!
  3. Dang, stay on your feet Thorton.
  4. That last play that he was involved with or NOT, our DB had WSU's guy pinned. All Sewell had to do was wrap him up for loss of yards. He couldn't even contain him and he was able to scoot out for positive yards.
  5. They should run more QB option plays in the red zone and keep WSU's defense guessing. I know some people had issues with the way Nix was running the ball and sacrificing his body, but we may need that to win this game.
  6. Let's give WSU a taste of their own medicine and throw more screens.
  7. Our jet sweeps aren't fooling anyone. Dilly ran that 3 times against EWU for no gains to loss of yards.
  8. Ducks are bad but they at least they aren't Miami. MTSU leads 24-10. Miami started with three straight drives that resulted in turnovers.
  9. Sewell is terrible. Can't even tackle this season.
  10. Why aren't they sniffing out these bubble screens?
  11. Dollars being on the field makes the Ducks predictable who the ball is going to.
  12. If Nix hits Thorton in stride, that would have been a TD.
  13. These refs are unbelievable!
  14. On the D-line, Dorlus is Da Man, but I don't know how vocal he is, out on the field. He does his talking through his actions or play. What about Swinson? Did he get moved to LB? He replaced KT and had his breakout game against the Buckeyes. He's been rather quiet too. DJ Johnson made his presence felt in the BYU game.
  15. Last season, I would have agreed that Sewell was one of them that could read the defense and blow it up. But I'm not so sure now. This season, he seems to be getting lost in the shuffle and about as effective as a true frosh or in some cases, less effective. I hear the names, LaDuke and Bassa being mentioned more throughout the games than I hear Sewell. Part of it, could be the scheming of the other team. I did see him get double teamed by two lineman on one play, the last game. I also saw him give up on play and allow the BYU receiver to run into our end zone, unimpeded and catch the ball for TD. When BYU couldn't run the ball, they started throwing the ball more which put Sewell at an obvious disadvantage in those man-to-man coverages. People have been questioning at the start of the season whether Sewell is slow or regressing. From what I have been seeing, he does look a step slower which would explain why he doesn't have any sacks yet. Another explanation is that he and Flowe are learning a new playbook, just like all the others. As for Flowe, from all accounts, he sounds like a very vocal leader that brings the energy in practice and in games. However, with him being injury prone every season, he appears to be getting his feet wet like all the younger, less experienced guys. I'm disappointed to say that neither Sewell nor Flowe has made much of an impact, so far, this season. Heading into the Georgia game, they were supposedly the X-factor that opposing teams feared the most about Oregon's D.
  16. That could very well happen, but I would like to think that Nix is turning a corner and growing up before our eyes. Hopefully, he is learning from his mistakes which includes our Georgia game. With this offense and in this conference, I could see Nix thriving. How often are we going to face a juggernaut, with a championship caliber defense like Georgia, unless we make the playoffs? Nix may find the Pac-12 to be cakewalk, compared to the smothering, SEC defenses. One of reasons for Nix transferring to Oregon was because he could see the Ducks in the playoffs every year. On Nix's part, it could be a bit of a cop out for taking an easier path to the playoffs. However, as the announcers mentioned, he looks a lot more relaxed in our offense, not being weighed down by all the pressure to perform as an Auburn legacy. So a new school, with a new team, could be beneficial for him. As a senior, Nix has two years of eligibility left, so he knows what's at stake. If he aims to get his NFL draft stock up, he has to start turning heads now. Depending on how this season pans out, he may not plan to return next season. He also could be looking ahead at the incoming frosh, Dante Moore. Although, it would be nice to have them both in the same season.
  17. I was wondering, if the Ducks have any leaders, calling out the plays and helping the other guys get lined up. Last year, McKinley was that guy for the secondary. Prior to him, it was Troy Dye. We need more of these veteran leaders who aid in and speed up the development of their teammates. Essentially, they act as another coach on the field, during the game. If I had to guess, I would say Bennett Williams is that dude, but I haven't heard any talk to confirm this.
  18. This is a bad look for the Ducks. Those fans are a poor reflection of the Oregon Ducks family, and in such poor taste, after BYU team displayed such class in honoring Spenser Webb and the Ducks. College Football World Reacts To Quarterback Recruit Leaving Game - The Spun: What's Trending In The Sports World Today THESPUN.COM Oregon fans' vulgar chants during last week's win over BYU could wind up costing their team in recruiting. 19. I was so impressed with Bo Nix this past Saturday. He played a near flawless game and led a well-balanced attack. His passes were crisp, delivered on time, with pinpoint accuracy. And while he may not have quite the same cannon as Justin Herbert, he proved that he has more than enough arm to get the job done. There were also several plays where he sacrificed his body, to either, clear the way for the RB or to fight for extra yards. On one run, he threw one block, then motored ahead and blocked a second defender. By then, the play had been whistled dead. Still, you gotta love and appreciate his competitiveness. He truly led by example, and that one play alone, encapsulates his willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team win. I can see why guys like TT look to him for leadership. I know a lot of Oregon fans, myself included, were pleasantly surprised to see Nix perform as well as he did. The offense was firing on all cylinders and had BYU's defense on their heels for the majority of the game. They looked like a cohesive unit that has been playing together for years, despite being pieced together during the off-season. This was a stark contrast to the Georgia performance and the previous, unprepared teams led by MariØ. What impressed me the most, was Nix's decision making. He made all the right reads and wisely threw the ball away 3 times which showed real maturity. The old Nix would have scrambled out of the pocket, trying to extend the play and then, force a bad pass into coverage. That is how he earned the shameful moniker, "Bo Pix." If he can continue make the correct reads and throw with this kind of accuracy, Bo Pix is about to become Bo Six or Bo 4 Six.
  20. Miami's WR recruits about to decommit. When Miami fans first learned that MariØ was going to be their new head coach, they took pleasure in "Duck tears." That is what they titled their thread. Little did they know, those were tears of joy. Now, that Miami actually played a non-cupcake team, they know why.
  21. That last TD should have been overturned. That knee was clearly down.
  22. This game was encouraging and gave a better picture of where the Ducks stand in the national landscape. I still would have liked to see this staff, cut the defense loose and blitz more. All three QBs that we have faced so far, were able to pick apart our secondary when given ample time. Gutsy call on our own 31 yd line to go for it on 4th, but I was confident the Ducks would convert, with the way we were running the ball. Is Lupoi calling a conservative, vanilla defense? Also, is it me or do our LBs seem too slow to be effective?
  23. They rolled around in the dirt, prior to the game, to get it that color. lol
  24. Offense was fun and dynamic. Nix was in total control. He showed real maturity, throwing away the ball when there wasn't anything there, great decision making all game long. I love his competitive spirit that he displayed with his blocking downfield and delivering that blow, trying to pick up that 1st down, on the last drive. But I would caution him not to lead with helmet, when the game is in hand. We saw how a decision like that could cost a guy like Herbert most of his season. Hate the decision to throw a lateral with TT passing to Irving. Irving has demonstrated that he has questionable hands. Those are one of those KNOW YOUR PERSONNEL plays. If they were going to run that play, I would have put Dollars in. Even though the ball was poorly thrown, slightly behind his target, Dollars would have stood a better chance, making that catch.
  25. Yup, Ducks were steam rollin BYU until TT entered the game. Let’s hope Nix is still hot and in rhythm.
