Join Us! GameDay Thread vs. Eastern Washington
I would have like to have seen some deep shots taken this game. I know it wasn't necessary with the YAC and all the success running the ball, but if ever there was a game to practice it, this was it. TT made one attempt to go vertical but overthrew his receiver by a mile which was probably for the best, considering he threw into double coverage.

That should have been a pick 6, with the defender having the inside position. It looked like Ferguson covered the DB's eyes with his right hand while catching the ball with his left. So the defender never saw the ball until it was too late.

Notes From Dan Lanning's News Conference...Injuries, etc.
Is Cota ok? I didn't see his name being mentioned. After watching the Spring game, I felt most confident with Nix passing to Cota on those 3rd and 4th down situations. I'm surprised he dropped that pass. Took one helluva shot to the rib cage though.

Is Noah Sewell Regressing?
Sewell was actually lost on field during his first season which was in part due to the pandemic and a limited amount of practices. He struggled with learning the playbook and reading the defense. It wasn't till the following season that he would make his presence felt. Then, he became the beast that disrupts and terrorizes offenses and has progressed every season since. That is until this last game which was a huge letdown. In fact, one could argue that he was Oregon's most consistent and impactful player last season, not Kayvon Thibodeaux. Although in KT's defense, the relentless pressure that he put on most opposing O-lines and QBs, sometimes being double-teamed, helped to free up and create many of those opportunities for guys like Sewell to feast and make plays.

Well Crud…
I seem to recall some Bama fans saying we had a good one in MariØ and just give him some time. He will be special. What they should have said is that he will be a good recruiter. Even then, the jury is still out on the type of players that he brought in and whether or not they can compete at the highest level.
-
Cautiously Optimistic
I read that about Tosh and didn't understand all the hype in hiring him. That is why I wanted DL to take a more active role in calling the plays on defense like MariØ did with our offense but in a good way. Saban is no dummy. They were kept around for their ability to recruit.

Can We Compete with EWU?
If we start blowing games against EWU, I expect a short leash for DL and Co.

Is Georgia That Good, or Oregon That Bad?
One team just showed up to collect a participation trophy.

NOT the Worst Oregon Opening Season Loss
The fact that you had refer back to the leather helmet days to find a worse game is an automatic fail. lol

Oregon Might Not Be Top-20
Complete domination by Georgia. APP State would have put up more of a fight. It feels like a rebuilding year to open the season. I was expecting DL to make a bigger splash in his debut as HC and put his stamp on this game. Was it just a matter of our players being outmatched and overwhelmed or were our coaches, outcoached from start to finish? I tend to think both. On defense, the guys struggled all game long to tackle, but they also were nowhere near the ball to make a play. No silver lining to take away from this game

My thoughts exactly. Dillingham had his favorite long before Spring game, but comfortable and familiar is not necessarily better.

Oregon/Georgia GameDay Thread!
So are you guys still in favor of Mullens scheduling these so called "neutral games" against SEC's top teams to open the season? A warm up game would have done them good because may be they would have at least figured out that Nix isn't their guy, going forward. Granted, I'm sure that when he scheduled this game, he didn't know that the Ducks would be playing the defending champion, with a brand new spankin HC and system in place. Still, he needs to do a much better job with the negotiations. Ducks were already in a uphill battle but to face a hostile crowd, on the road, getting paid half a million less than Georgia, is pathetic. He should have just agreed to a Georgia home game and got paid.

Good hit. Ducks finally get a guy open and Cota has probably the best hands on the team. Ducks just can't catch a break.

BYU must be licking their chops. Ducks look vulnerable this season.

Speak of the devil, Sewell with the tackle, if you can call it that.

Is Tosh calling the plays on defense or Lanning? Lanning may need to call the shots. Our players are all out of position. Did Sewell even get a tackle yet?

"No heroes needed, just play your game." He should have been yelling that in Bo's ear.
