When Dan figures out he doesn’t have to play Madden football to win consistently then look out.

The worst thing in any sport is arrogance. Most of the kids coming out of high school already have it, The biggest problem for any coach in sports is to calm that part out of their brain. Dan seems to have that gift. On the other hand cockiness is ok unless it comes over the top. The one thing I like about Lanning is his ability to meld the best part of cockiness with execution and desire. Love that guy. I had a college coach that was good at this and only the best coaches in college sports have the ability to do this. It seems that nobody in his locker room is arrogant and it is a beautiful thing to see. His players interviews are some of the best I’ve seen at being humble. Love the way Dan handled the spitting incident ( won’t mention his name ) and it was a valuable lesson for that player. He will now be a huge asset going forward. This is so much fun and hope Dan, Sauphia , and the boys are happy here and make them continue to be part of the Duck family. Best thing that has happened to football outside of Phill, of coarse, but Dan makes forget about that part, just for a moment.

Many programs in the nation had a chance to bring in the transfers that Dan brought in. The difference I see Dan got them. Im sure we will bring in more free agents for next especially if we win the big one. In Dan we trust.

It seems to me that the Ducks are extremely conservative at the start of qtr 3 in games and the defenses have scouted it. loading the box with bodies at the line of scrimmage. Even on the wideouts. I would like to see them be more aggressive and try to put games away instead of milking the clock which seems to be the strategy. That game yesterday should have been a blowout.

For some reason I’m not worried about Tez missing a couple of games although he will be missed. We have a tool box loaded with studs that are quite capable of picking up the slack if given the opportunity. The ducks have 3 tight ends and several wideouts that can catch the ball and YAC their way down the field. Dillon seems quite capable of getting the ball to whoever is running the routes. Thank god for Dan and his ability to recruit possibly the best roster in college football.

For me, game ball goes to o-line. That front 7 has 3 nfl guys and our o-line did a nice job rushing and pass protection. Tuff place to play for sure. Go s
