The worst thing in any sport is arrogance. Most of the kids coming out of high school already have it, The biggest problem for any coach in sports is to calm that part out of their brain. Dan seems to have that gift.
On the other hand cockiness is ok unless it comes over the top. The one thing I like about Lanning is his ability to meld the best part of cockiness with execution and desire. Love that guy.
I had a college coach that was good at this and only the best coaches in college sports have the ability to do this.
It seems that nobody in his locker room is arrogant and it is a beautiful thing to see. His players interviews are some of the best I’ve seen at being humble.
Love the way Dan handled the spitting incident ( won’t mention his name ) and it was a valuable lesson for that player. He will now be a huge asset going forward.
This is so much fun and hope Dan, Sauphia , and the boys are happy here and make them continue to be part of the Duck family. Best thing that has happened to football outside of Phill, of coarse, but Dan makes forget about that part, just for a moment.
