I agree that Matayo is improving extremely fast and is becoming an amazing talent. He had a great game and is having a great season. But, "The Pick" was program altering. It needs to stand out as such. Not, just be a spot on a highlight reel. In my opinion. This "Hit" as great as it was... will never have the same impact as "The Pick".

I love this uniform. I would not want it for a marquee matchup. But, it is perfect for the Wisconsin game. It will reinforce that Oregon is modern football and Wisconsin is has-been football.

This Wisconsin game has had me the most nervous of any game on the schedule. But, the struggles against Maryland actually make me feel better about this game. I feel OBD will come out extremely focused this week, come out strong, and take the crowd out of it quickly. Coach Lanning will have them ready to battle and defeat the Badgers. Thumbs down, no mercy.

David, Thank you for another thought provoking article. I understand where you are coming from and have often wondered the same thing. One thing I have always liked about the Heisman is it often is not a clear cut winner. Typically there are 2 or 3 guys who are arguably worthy of winning it. It creates great banter between fan bases, it builds anticipation, and even after the award is given there are still arguing points. I worry if you wait until the end of the season. It will basically be given to the MVP of the championship game. To me that just doesn't feel the same. It feels to easy and kind of boring. Just my simple mind... not wanting everything about college football to change. Change isn't always good.

This is why I stay off other sites. Talk about useless banter. I feel dumber for reading it.

I've only visited west coast stadiums. Best (other than Autzen): Husky Stadium. Hate the team and fan base, But, props to a great stadium/setting. Worst: The Rose Bowl. Its iconic. But, it really sucks in pretty much every way.
