Press Release: Oregon To Play In Valero Alamo Bowl
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I hope they have a shorter than 15 year memory and that we can bring back that officiating crew. -
Part of the non-comital on MC's part might be at the advice of his agent for his leverage. Kind of like when your attorney tells you to not speak to anyone (a friend told me that happens).
-
I’m thinking this is probably really tough on MC. Of course, he would like to coach at his alma mater, it‘s home, his extended family is there and mom is ill. Show him the Taggart tape .... dream job that lasts less than 2 years. Money might not be the deciding factor since Oregon can match anything that is thrown at him. Character might be holding him back, and I hope that is the case. He: 1) Has always talked about what a special place Eugene is compared to S. Flda. 2) Is building something special and has all the resources anyone could want. 3) Appears to build bonds with the recruits and their families. I hope he stays and continues his path here. But, if he goes, I won’t have Taggart feelings for him. I will wish him well and be thankful for his time here and for showing the world that Scott Frost was wrong, that you can recruit to Eugene. Besides, we’ll survive, it is only sport escapism.

If Michigan wins, set up an all SEC in one semi and Michigan v Cinn in the other, or Set up a potential all SEC final with 'Bama and Georgia avoiding each other in the semi? P.S. Send a thank you note to Baylor to avoid a 1 L Ok St v Cinn for #4

Head is spinning too much right now to even think about it. I just know we are not going to jump into the Lake.

Not sure if this link has been posted. Direct info from Mario's presser. Did not put any rumors to bed. PODCAST: Oregon embarrassed again, Mario Cristobal rumors, and what the hell just happened (247sports.com)

Know THIS Fellow Oregon Fans About Saturday...
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
That's ok, you're on the same wavelength as Moorehead. When he was asked about Akron earlier in the week, he said he was focusing on the game Saturday (who is Akron playing today?) Explains a lot! -
This Oregon Team Has A Promising Future
Steven A replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thanks David. I needed a Kool Aid chaser for my coffee this am. -
Of course, Mario will be on a plane ASAP after the game to go see his mom, so expect even more smoke later.
-
According to the next "VIP" article - "Anybody who has crossed paths with Mario Cristobal knows Miami is his dream job… Cristobal has always told people in his inner circle that everything he ever did in his coaching career was to one day come back to his alma mater as the head coach. " We don't know when he may have said that. After FIU, during 'Bama? More smoke? Definitely more $$$$ to stay now. I guess we'll see soon enough. Hopefully, he doesn't "Taggart" us

Prediction Contest for Pac-12 Championship Game!
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Ahh, the 64K question .... can we make up 2.38+ points a day (31pts / 13 days) HELL YES, since Utah hasn't played the Ducks this year. Not sure who they played on Nov 20th. Ducks 26 Utes 24 2 TOs 2 sacks 140 yds passing -
For Pitman at least, not being able to crack the top spots in the receiving corp was probably a deciding factor. His production has dropped off like the ball out of his hands on too numerous of occasions. The loss of the Ark recruit could be a combo of Ark being better than expected, a really good Ark track team, being able to stay home, crowded WR room.
-
According to CBS, we still have a shot at the playoffs. "The Ducks will definitely finish behind Georgia, the Big 12 champion and probably Notre Dame. So, they would not only need to beat No. 17 Utah in the Pac-12 Championship Game but also require losses by Cincinnati and Michigan plus an Alabama blowout loss. All this while hoping that Iowa does not jump them as well, although I do not expect that would happen." ( College Football Playoff, bowl predictions: Paths for the nine remaining contenders with one spot clinched - CBSSports.com ) Sorry, not buying it.

Top Verbal 2022 Recruits for Oregon Still Locked In
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Verbals, verbals verbals from 18 y.o. Just saying. -
Yogi and I agree, the game is 50% physical and 90% mental, or as Iron Mike would say, everyone has a plan until they get hit in the face. We need to throw the first punch and keep it up. If we can do that and let Utah know they are playing a completely different team, that will go a long way towards a W. If not, and Utah is playing the same team, OUCH. It would be interesting to see what NIL opportunities are available for the "Threepeat Pac 12 Champs" (Doesn't that have a nice ring to it)?

Yes, never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Are we WRONG About Recruiting vs USC?
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
AGREED: uw did not take a step forward in recruiting chops with their hire. So who in the North is a threat to cut into our recruiting? Whittingham at 62, might only have a couple of years left if rumors are true. I don't see Utah as a big time destination. ASU, how much longer is Herm going to be there? UCLA, Chip seat is like Helton has been for the last few years. AZ and Colorado are light years off. Stanford seems to have peaked and Cal is a dumpster fire. -
Are we WRONG About Recruiting vs USC?
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
What we do know, is that there will be an impact. Will we lose some recruits that would have chosen us over a Helton U$C? Yes. Might more kids stay on the coast to compete against a deeper Pac 12, with a guaranteed playoff spot? Maybe, and if so, right now we would be that #2 spot, if not #1 depending upon the position. Do we have a roster advantage right now? Yes, so if it takes a bit for them to catch up, then some of the Riley/second coming luster may have fallen off. There is still an 85 scholarship limit, so there will not be any U$C monopoly on Pac 12 recruiting. -
2 BIG THINGS.... Who is going to hire him, NO AD Who is he going to replace, THEY STILL HAVE A COACH.
