Athlon Always Does Well with Their Predictions, AND...
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Hopefully at the end of the game the Ducks will be able to taunt with "SCOREBOARD". -
Tell-Me, Tell-Me....Your BEST Husky Story!
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
At uw, 1968 game when Coach Woody kicked the game winning FG in the pouring rain. He missed the first attempt, but uw offsides and he hit the mulligan for a 3 - 0 win. The U of O section was in high school type bleachers behind the endzone. Horrible seats right up until Ken nailed his kick at us! BTW, after graduating in '72, my next game at Autzen was 10/22/1994, bleacher seats again. This time Kenny Wheaton ran right to us. -
Because they got lucky in their other 4 games!

Wilner: "Lake Went Where he Shouldn't Have Gone"
Steven A replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Best part of the article, Wilner simulates Schill in stating "But for the moment, the arch-rivals are headed in different directions, and you don’t need a UW degree to see that." -

Insulting EVERY UO Athlete: Cristobal Responds to Jimmy Lake

Not discounting last year, this is year 2. And, he "did win the North" last year. Me thinks he should be granted a lifetime contract for that. -
Gut Punch: Speedster Reneges Verbal to Oregon
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Can't blame him, home state, great track program and maybe their WR room isn't quite as crowded as ours. Better to lose at this position that so many others. -
Insulting EVERY UO Athlete: Cristobal Responds to Jimmy Lake
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It is a tie between him and Schill " “UW is a wonderful school with a great football history. I have great respect and affection for its president, its academic and football program and its former exceptional football coach, coach Petersen. I look forward to our team meeting theirs on the gridiron this Saturday.” Schill can respond the way he did, and Mario kept to his narrative. -
Hosed SO MANY Times....Can you Believe this No. 4 Ranking?
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Same reaction. The reason the Stanford L didn't happen is because the OSU W did. Great scheduling right? -
Obviously, the other criteria carries weight ...... "on-field play, character, scholastic achievement, and leadership"
-
Good for him. "Brown is one of 10 quarterbacks named as finalists for the award, given annually to the nation’s top upperclassman QB based on on-field play, character, scholastic achievement, and leadership." Bulletin Board Material for Ducks in Tweets?
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Probably auditioning for an ESPN analyst job! -
Agreed. However, with all the hype for him, maybe he is like TT. Although at 2-4, why not.

per 24/7 "Earlier today, I put in a Crystal Ball for Oregon. It’s for a 2022 prospect from in-state, Portland (Ore.) Westview receiver Darrius Clemons." New Crystal Ball for Pac-12 School (247sports.com)

Canzano Notes the Temp Rising Among Oregon/Oregon State Fans
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think they give you 3 free ones a month. Same with Seattle Times, I wasted two on the same article about lake's comments. One on my laptop and the other desktop so I would read the 174 negative comments. One left for after our victory Sat. -
Also, reading the comments, 90% negative is a PLUS

With the Ducks ahead of OSU, if both win out, hopefully the committee follows their protocols and Oregon’s H2H win trumps (small “t”) their possible strength of schedule advantage at the end of the year. Of course, a 2 L Big 10 champ eliminates the ESPN/Herbstreit bias, and a 1 L Big 12 champ would be nice also. Of course, the Big 12 having 10 teams and the Big 10 having 12 should count for a loss regardless based upon their math skills, or lack there of. Then, we have to see if an undefeated Cinderllannati makes it as bone thrown to the gang of 5. So, besides having the Ducks go 12 -1 leading up to the Bowl/CFP season, do you prefer a Rose Bowl appearance or a CFP appearance? In the past there has been debate about being ready for the CFP and whether a Rose Bowl appearance is better than “an exposure” CFP loss. For me it is the CFP as I think that is/should be the goal every year with the Rose Bowl a consolation prize. Kinda like the Huskies hoping for the Sun Bowl each year, and settling for one of ESPN’s Gasparilla, First Responders or Armed Forces Bowls. Plus, I think recruits want to be on CFP teams/contenders as opposed to Sun Bowl type teams (see above). Bottom line for me is that this year I am turning off my Strawberry Alarm Clock so as to not wake-up from my Green and Yellow Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test Cocktail and a 15 - 1 record ..... #15 being the back-to-back Georgia wins to start the 2022 season!!!!

Crap! Oregon-WSU Game To Kick Off At 7:30 PM On ESPN
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Or, light you up! -
According to Scott Eklund at 247/7 sports among the list of reasons .... ACADEMICS Right now this is the hot answer to give when a recruit is asked about what he's looking for in a program. Lots of kids say academics are their first priority, yet they go on to spurn top-rated academic institutions, who also have very good football programs, to sign with "football factories" whose academics aren't on par with the schools they also had committable offers from. This is not an indictment of the prospects or the process, it is up to the coaching staffs at each school to promote their program and brand and show them why they need to sign with their school. However, some fans have a hard time understanding why kids choose schools when they have stated many times that they are looking for a school with strong academics. While it's important in the grand scheme of the decision-making process and the overall picture, being a top-rated academic institution plays a very small part in where a prospect decides to sign. https://247sports.com/college/washington/LongFormArticle/how-why-prospects-choose-sign-commit-team-progam-team-college-football-recruiting-washington-huskies-174320732/#174320732_1
