I'm always of the opinion that unless the call is the last call of the game, it did not "cost" the game (MLB still needs to reverse Jim Joyce's incorrect call that cost Armando Galarraga a perfect game). There were a couple of innings to go. If the play stood as safe, then the batting order, pitch selection etc. would have all changed and maybe we don't score a run in the ninth. It could also have gone extras and still lost. So, I'll go with it affected the game.
