Don't kill the messenger, but hard to believe bringing in the DL class only rates Tosh 5th in the BIG and 16th nationally. Or, Tuioti 16th BIG and 62nd nationally. Not to mention Dan the man coming in at 63rd in the BIG. Where Oregon's assistant coaches stack up as recruiters nationally and in the Big 10 247SPORTS.COM Here's a rundown of how Oregon's assistant coaching staff stacks up among others nationally and in the Big 10 conference.

The student athletes as opposed to the athlete students. Fortunately or unfortunately HELL yes. -
For the first time no natives stuck around. Ten players from the state signed NLIs with power 5 programs (giving ucla the benefit of the doubt), none with ewe dub. MSN WWW.MSN.COM

Best takeaway from the athlon site is "To make a long story short, Washington lacks the overall roster quality compared to the likes of Big Ten programs like Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. Unless the Huskies dominate the transfer portal, it's tough to imagine them keeping pace with the top college football powerhouses in the coming seasons. "

Oregon Legacy WR FLIPS From USC to Oregon!

Not so sure. Might be Justin Flowe 2.0 As the article states: "Obviously, Foreman never lived up to the lofty ranking he had out of high school, struggling to find any consistent playing time and battling injuries at time."

Just think what our numbers would be without having to be on the Pac 12 (non)network. Colorado proves hype, talking head promotions and train wrecks are attractive. MSN WWW.MSN.COM

Huskies Got Their Penix Replacement...
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think Penix is much harder to replace than Bo. I don't think I have seen a better pocket passer with some rollout skills in college in years. Bo in Stein's offense will be an easier replacement. I think Rogers will be a few rungs lower than Gabriel in regard to replacement parts. P.S. Can we refer to it as a Penix transplant instead of replacement? -

Did the Oregon Ducks Fail Ty Thompson?

Yes, it was good strategy. But I think he only put it in play when DJ showed some warts a few games in. -
Did the Oregon Ducks Fail Ty Thompson?
Steven A replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Was he given a fair shot. I think so, but I wasn't at practice. This last year when he saw action, he had more of a playbook to use. Two years ago, he didn't and didn't seem ready. Of course, he would have had to be VERY special to have beaten out a Heisman finalist. Possibly the same next year. In developing QB talent, the HS players coming in have to think they are the next big thing. If they don't have that attitude, then they weren't going to be. I guess in two years when Akili Smith Jr. arrives, we may see. -
Pac 2 Blocks "Normal" Distribution to the Pac 12
Steven A replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Probably not viable: 1) Liabilities don't exceed assets. That is why there is a fight for control. 2) Who has the power to declare. This is main issue No, 1A, who is in charge. 3) Who gets excess after liabilities paid. This is main issue No, 1B. -
Pac 2 Blocks "Normal" Distribution to the Pac 12
Steven A replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I agree with holding up the distribution. The demise of the Pac was a group effort, and until all the crap is ironed out, no need to give out money that may need to be repaid. This is a typical bifurcated divorce . . . status of Pac has been decided, now it is just a property settlement. As they say or ask, "why are divorces expensive? Because they are worth it!" And in the long run, it will be. Besides, once all the liabilities are taken care of, then the attorneys will get what is left so why worry. -
Lanning and the Changing Face of Recruiting
Steven A replied to Duckster's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Without Nix and without Penix, how different would DeDoer and Lanning be viewed? Generational QB play can mask a lot of warts. Time will tell.
