Sometimes Losing Is Winning
Teams usually recover quicker from losses than fans do. Once they’ve recalibrated for the loss of wiggle room that the season once had, but realize the goal is still alive, a cold, hard focus is often the result - hopefully!

Is Cignetti Next?
Sure, as in potentially the next head coach at either Penn State or Florida.

Keenan Howry Will Be In Eugene on Saturday
Never forget that 4th quarter Beaver punt that Keenan took back 70 yards for a TD right into a rainstorm from the west. Ignited a comeback that Maurice Morris capped off with a score. Welcome home KH!

2025 Football Poll Rankings (2)
Like Rival’s Nathan Bishop said regarding Oregon’s drop to 3rd in the AP - “Good!” That kind of fine dining just feeds a master motivator like Dan.

The Case for Oregon’s Freshman Runningback Duo to Start
Agree with Spartan. Like rep metrics for pitchers, the odds for injury go way up when true freshmen are pushed past their ability to maintain body control. The overall health of the RB room has to be taken into consideration by the coaches. That said, they’ve earned bigger roles, and will probably get them, just not as much as some fans may want. Just another reason there are coaches, and there are fans, right?

Are You Reconsidering Your Respect for the CFB 'Experts?'
Among the many misuses of the word, ‘expert’, or the description, ‘national writer’, is when they are applied to those who ply their trade in the world of sports. The reason for that is obvious and simple: just beneath that expert’s shiny exterior of unbiased, nonpartisan objectivity lies a kid/college student who grew up cheering for his home team. In the end, that hidden inner fan will always trump the exterior expert. Bless them, but they just can’t help themselves. And, because the vast majority of these national experts reside east of the Mississippi, that inner fan’s affection for Oregon can be considered cool and remote at best. That’s why I prefer their disregard and negativity - it’s honest. It’s only when they shine their rah-rah light on us that I get concerned. I view that only as a chess move, a set-up whose purpose is to undermine with false praise. Call me paranoid, but that’s how I’ve learned to view them.

ESPN GameDay: 'They're COMING...to Our City!'
Would be awesome and a nice Oregon tribute if there were some Duck/Corso photo hug cardboard signs in the crowd.

Oregon Broke Penn State
Whether or not Oregon’s win will be viewed as diminished will have everything to do with which Penn State team shows up in Columbus on Nov 1st.

Ruh-Roh! The Thriving "Bear" Has Trojans Butt-Hurt...
At USC Bear was thrown to the wolves because he was really all they had. Add the hamstring injury to that pressure, and a transfer was all but a given. At Oregon, our well stocked DL room has given him the time and room to establish himself and find his footing, and boy, has he ever!

Canzano Compares Noise in Happy Valley vs. Autzen...
Yes, now that you mention it. As I recall, route running often required accounting for those closer walls, and there were some injuries.

What Were You Surprised By? What NEEDS to be Improved vs. Indiana?
I think that’s more of an away, big game phenomena. When an entitled, big stadium crowd is looking defeat square in the face, there can be this hush-dread that seems to freeze the stadium’s energy, and contributes to altering the momentum on the field. I remember experiencing that 4th quarter feeling in both the Big House and Neyland Stadium where it didn’t help either Michigan or Tennessee against superior Duck teams.

Canzano Compares Noise in Happy Valley vs. Autzen...
While it’s purely incidental, I’ve always found it interesting that Mike Billotti swears the stadium was louder before the 2002-03 south-side expansion. I think he credits that belief to a loss of decibel rebound off the donor roof which gained 17 feet of height over the original 12 thousand more voices has less impact than the old configuration? Reading these coaches’ comments comparing Autzen sound to much larger stadiums makes you realize it’s not body count that gives Autzen its loudness. Anyway, I give the benefit of the doubt to Mike whose tenure bridged the two editions of Autzen. You’d think he’d know.

Not taking the points, but instead going for it is choosing program culture over game strategy.

Haven’t converted yards into scores, yet. But really like the focus - they’re putting the puzzle together, one piece at a time, beginning to open the door. Shock and awe time?
