Pritchard Solid as Celts Take Game 1
Agree with HD. Payton’s success could help put the ‘student’ back into the student-athlete equation.

Ducks Women's Hoops to Play Home and Home with South Carolina
Love it! No quit in Kelly - bring it on!

Kirby Smart Heaps Praise on Bo Nix
In this new world of college football, portal moves among veteran players can almost feel like free agency or power trades in the pros where a guy gone stale can get a new lease on life. I feel like there’s something of that in Bo’s move to the Ducks. Sure hope so!

Will Richardson is Coming Back for Next Season
My guess is Dana will play him in a shooting role rather than at point. He just doesn’t have that driven, dominant personality that wants to take over the game. Situations can bring it out in him, but he needs to be able to bring that every game from within himself, and he’s just never shown that. He’s still a great player and real asset - just not at point.

Did You Hear the Latest? Mr. FishDuck is STALIN!
I’m not. People like that get the Gulag they’ve earned.

Can Someone Tell Me "WHY" a Conference Tournament?
At least with BB, jumping on the tournament bandwagon seems to have been a perception thing based on dance success coming off their tourneys for both the Big East and ACC.

Huffing Huskies: 'Washington is NOT Headed Down!'
It’s hard to tell if the pooches are headed up or headed down when their head is stuck in the toilet.

Huffing Huskies: 'Washington is NOT Headed Down!'
What a fun read, and what a remarkable turn-around in how pooch fans see themselves? From a dominant national team to one that , “plays for the love of the game . . .”? Resonates more with Beaver Nation than The James era. Maybe we should start referring to them as ‘little brother’ as well. Oh, and we might inform him - the three girl friends for each Duck? All Husky cheerleaders.

How Oregon Football Will EXPLODE Offensively in 2022
As much as we’re all excited by the potential in the running back room for speed and making plays in space, I’m equally looking forward to the potential of both Jordan James (205) and Dante Dowdell (210) to balance that attack on the inside, and keeping lbs and secondaries guessing.

What's Up With Softball Program Transfers?
There certainly may have been burn-out - on both sides of the fence - not to mention the high probability of a contentious relationship between White and Mullens. Personally, I would have liked to see him given another one or two seasons. Guess we’ll never know. But that never stops us from speculating!

What's Up With Softball Program Transfers?
Nothing to do with portal realities, nor Lombardi’s worth and potential to get us there, but, in looking at what Texas has done, is anyone else revisiting one of Mullen’s biggest blunders in letting Mike White go for the price of an assistant football coach?

Alumni Update: Thomas Graham, Jr. with the Bears
My sense of him as well, but it just goes to show how important position IQ is in the secondary.

Like it. Only alteration? A yellow O on the helmet.

Canzano: Zero Pressure on Oregon Ducks in Season Opener vs. Georgia
Devil’s advocate is always a good position to take, and I applaud it, however it’s hard to make the case for extreme pressure on the Ducks (or the Bulldogs, although their image would suffer) simply because it is a first game. Pressure in football mounts with succeeding games - it’s development that counts in the eyes of judges. Lose the first, okay, how did you respond in your next game? Lose the last? You’re out.

What If Vernon Adams Didn’t Break His Finger in 2015?
Agree. There was no quit in him - he never gave up on a play.

More about Oregon Wide Receiver Coach Junior Adams
Even without the benefit of a Heisman candidate, Adams is reeling them in. Amazing what a gifted recruiter can do once he has the chance to walk through the front door.

Kenjon Barner: 300 Yards 5 TDs vs USC
Totally agree. KB was the poster boy for the disciplined, patient back who understood the playbook and how to utilize his blocks, when to shift gears, and trust the system. He was so good he could make perfect look almost boring - almost.

Love malaprops. Here’s one attributed to Joe Theisman, “The word genius isn’t applicable in football. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.”

What If Vernon Adams Didn’t Break His Finger in 2015?
Adams was just an ‘over’ kinda guy: untimely over-throws, over-achiever and unfortunately, over and out. We’ve had our share of exciting QBs, but I don’t recall any - except maybe Joey - who kept me on the edge of my chair as much.

Is it Really a Question? Who do You Want the Ducks to Beat More, the Huskies or the Beavers?
Great observation ND. I think the traditional lack of emotion regarding the Troylets has a lot to do with their unique status as having been the only west coast national power for so long, and the legendary quality (1920’s-30’s Knute Rockne-Howard Jones rivalry, Heisman trophies, etc) of that tradition. It’s hard to hate an institution. Add to that the Meh factor of how - like fellow private school Stanford - they’ve never viewed themselves as properly part of any west coast, public tradition, but rather above that fray, with more in common with the likes of Notre Dame or Ivy League universities. Failure on the gridiron has greatly deflated that hot air balloon, and we’re beginning to see a true rivalry emerging - whether they like it or not. Out of curiosity, you’ve read some of our more colorful descriptions of our hated rival to the north. How do Georgia fans refer to Gators?

How Much DUCK Gear Do You Have?
Still have my frig door schedule magnet from that season. Amazing - sometimes it feels like being an archeologist! Does fantasy gear count? Often dreamed of having an ‘O’ branding iron as a permanent reminder for insufferable hydrant wetters.

Is it Really a Question? Who do You Want the Ducks to Beat More, the Huskies or the Beavers?
My gut tells me nothing’s better than pulverizing the bow wow down clowns, until I think about an entire off-season of putting up with all those trash heap pick-ups and rusted-out Plymouth mini vans flying orange rodent rags belching their way up and down 6th, 7th and Franklin on expired tags and badly in need of a DUI. It’s a push.

They Really Said That? Favorite Sports Quotes...
Well, since we’re going down the home stretch of spring sports, headed for the doldrums of Summer, thought I’d toss a nice fat one over the plate for the amusement of all, or at least some. The backyard fence-feuding between Saban and Fisher got me thinking about one of my all-time favorite sports quote meisters, former Florida State HC Bill Peterson. Here’s a couple of his more legendary utterings: “You guys pair up in groups of three, then line up in a circle.” “You guys line up alphabetically by height.” And, can’t start this ball rolling without at least one Yogism: “I really didn’t say everything I said.” So, there you go. Balls in your court if you’ve got one to offer.
