  1. This is Cosmo the Wonder Poodle. Notice the Oregon collar as well. He is a big DUCK fan!
  2. My idea of decadence is two Snake River Waygu rib steaks. A bit of Maldon Salt and then pan sear for two minutes a side and then into an oven set at 425 for 5-7 minutes depending on the thickness of the cut. Now to rest about 6 minutes under cover with a big pat of Tillamook Extra Creamy Butter. Serve with my made from scratch Caesar Salad including homemade croutons, rice pilaf and a nice bottle of Lavinea (Willamette Valley) Pinot Noir from the Elton Vineyard. This is coming up next week.
  3. This can happen, Cam Ward had zero D-1 offers out of high school, in fact the only offer he had was Incarnate Word.
  4. Wall Street Journal on College Boosters featuring Phil Knight https://www.wsj.com/sports/football/college-donors-school-presidents-athletics-f2eb3c91?st=49qna7ak7svcdyi&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
  5. Just saw a rumor that Ty Thompson was getting close to Oregon State. If it was on the internet, then it must be true, correct?
  6. I do not think Ty Thompson ever had much of a chance this year to show us what he might be capable of. It was pretty clear that the University, the Athletic Department and Dan Lanning were going to promote Bo Nix for the Heisman. "Not that there is anything wrong with that" but Bo played enormous minutes that might have gone to TT in a perfect world. Ty, I hope you find a great place to practice your skills!
  7. I apologize, I clicked a link that allows me to "gift" an article and has worked on this forum in the past. Perhaps no longer.
  8. Jason Gay from the WSJ is one of my favorite sports writers. The NCAA Wants to Pay College Athletes. It Doesn’t Really Have a Choice. WWW.WSJ.COM A new proposal outlines a radical future for college sports—but the courts are likely to get there first
  9. This is not a direct comparison obviously but Liberty beat New Mexico State to win their conference championship 49-35. In 2010 our DUCKS played New Mexico State and won 72-0. Bo Nix is going to play but will we even have a backup QB on the roster if Dan Lanning announces a new QB from the portal? We could see both Ty Thomson and Austin Novosad transfer out. I do not like how this is playing out.
  10. Well they did beat New Mexico State for the CSUA Football Championship. Seriously, how does this happen? Are we being punished for two losses, both to the #2 team in the nation?
  11. Been traveling all day and just heard this news. Until this week, I had literally never heard of this University. With all the bowl discussion this week, the name Liberty came up and I said who is this? This seems like a very sad draw for our DUCKS.
  12. Michigan Washington Alabama Texas Sorry Florida State, down to your third QB, you no longer pass the eye test.
  13. Well, I will say the unthinkable. The Huskies were the better team last night. Penix played very well, no sign of injury to me. Our DUCKS are top drawer but UW earned this win. If their next game is vs Michigan, the Huskies have a good chance to blow them out. JMHO.
  14. Charles, I think Bo Nix, Troy Franklin and Tez Johnson are equal to or better than those Huskies you mention.
  15. 56 hours to kick off. I will not place bets on my DUCKS but I think Dan Lanning and company beat the spread handily. Oregon has been playing the last few weeks like a well oiled, finely tuned Porsche. Speaking just for myself, it appears to me that the Huskies have been stumbling down the stretch and barely squeaked to victory in several games. Most of all, is Dan Lanning going to finish his second year with three losses to the Huskies? No Way! GO DUCKS!
  16. I made the mistake of going to uwdawgpound.com yesterday. One comment repeated perhaps a dozen times is that Bo Nix is just a game manager. What an insult!. We know that Bo has the green light to change the plays as he sees fit and he does that. The poor mentally unbalance Huskies are going to have a wake up call Friday evening.
  17. Annie, for me, that TD just before the half took my breath away. I knew then that we were going to have barbecued Beaver.
  18. Game just went to half time tied 14-14. Washington State showed up ready to play. It looks like so far that the Dawgs are looking past this game towards next Friday. Penix is just playing so-so. A UW loss probably hurts us big time. But what do I know?
  19. Tuesday, I was fly fishing in a drift boat chasing the wily steelhead on the Trinity River in far northern California. It was cold when we started at 30 degrees and I was wearing my green and yellow OREGON wool hat. We come around a corner and here is another drift boat and one guy has a purple and white wool cap with a big W. He sees my hat and immediately starts off with "Too bad about that 36-33 loss". Too bad you can't kick a field goal". "Penix and Rune are going to destroy you if there is another game but you won't get by the Beavers". On and on and he wasn't smiling, He meant all of it. He was not 25 years old, he was 65+. Unfortunately we passed each other two more times and it never stopped. All I did was point at my hat and throw him the O. Oh well, poor Husky needs therapy.
  20. Yesterday, I was surprised to hear our game announcers refer to our next game as the Civil War and they said it several times. I for one am OK with this game being now and forever the "Civil War". GO DUCKS!
  21. This is probably obvious to most here but it only struck me this morning. If the Beavs beat the Dawgs today, this hurts our our playoff chances. Then next Friday, the Beavs are not coming to Autzen to just roll over. They steamrolled us last year. Just the normal worries of a FANatic. GO DUCKS!
