  1. The Deion Sanders Experiment at Colorado Begins With a Wild Win WWW.WSJ.COM The Buffaloes, who won one game last year, knocked off Texas Christian, a team that played for a national championship last season, to kick off the Prime Era
  2. Utah looking awfully good playing their third string QB.
  3. I feel sorry for Utah. Apparently their #1 and #2 QB's are both down. I would love to see Utah knock off Florida this week but things are not looking good.
  4. Thanks Joshua, I always enjoy your posts. This morning I was in the mood to read an optimistic outlook on our DUCKS!
  5. Sabrina Ionescu Missed Her NCAA Tournament Moment. Now She Is Making WNBA Ones. WWW.WSJ.COM Three years ago, the then-Oregon standout’s postseason showcase disappeared. Now she’s a central character in women’s basketball’s starriest rivalry.
  6. Charles, great to have A DUCK Man Cave. I have one as well. Just one question, where is my seat?
  7. They Finally Broke College Football. What Chaos Happens Next? WWW.WSJ.COM The weekend collapse of the Pac-12 was fast–and hardly a shock
  8. Met with a DUCK Buddy at the gym this morning. We were both sad but resigned to the change. Media drives everything. Oregon State has a team this year that is a threat to anyone. They sure beat us last year. Washington State especially under Mike Leach could compete but both these universities have very small media markets and they will probably be relegated to the Mountain West or similar and both be attacked and decimated by the Transfer Portal. I care less about Stanford and Cal. They are resident in a big media market but no one at either university, from admin to students to alumni care about football and the smaller sports especially Title 9 are going to suffer. They each will be raided for their current talent. I will stick around to see how this all shakes out but I am going to surely miss the tradition and rivalries. GO DUCKS!
  9. What happens to Cal and Stanford? It has appeared to me for years that the administrations, students and alumni at both universities do not care about football. Maybe they drop the sport. While I would love for Oregon State and Washington State to join us in the B1G, that is not likely. I sure hope they both get into the BIG 12.
  10. Apple is the largest publicly traded company in the world. Apple TV is just a tiny part of that but do you think the Apple TV executives intend to stay small? Not a chance. Apple TV in 4-5 years will be a monster IMHO and our DUCKS will have great exposure. I have Apple TV now and the content and 4K streaming quality are excellent. I say bring it on!
  11. Time to pile on. Here is the latest from Bleacher Report. It is rumored that Utah, Arizona and Arizona State could be the next to leave.
  12. This is really looking bad now. With CU leaving and a rumor of another team leaving, the iffy media deal definitely just got worse to non-existent. My cup is half empty. I think this is the end of the PAC.
  13. Thanks for posting this, a fun read. Of course the opener against Portland State is Saturday, September 2 not September 5 as stated in the article. GO DUCKS! 38 days to kickoff!
  14. I did not see a dedicated thread for this movie. Just streamed it from Amazon Prime. Quite an excellent movie. Phil Knight played by Ben Affleck. Sonny Vaccaro played by Matt Damon. Viola Davis playing Michael Jordans mother is powerful. Capturing Michael Jordan as a Nike client put Nike over the top. You of course know the end result but the movie is still suspenseful. I really enjoyed this and it was historically nice to see photo's of Steve Prefontaine on the wall in the Nike Headquarters.
  15. I posted something about this a few months ago. I read a good article that said that streaming games last year typically were running around 45 seconds to one minute behind the actual action on the field. This keeps bugging me knowing the game might be over while I am watching the final play. Anyone else?
  16. Thinking back to high school. Can you imagine having to block this guy? Welcome Mr. McRoy!
  17. Thank you Jon, it is indeed Romeo and Juliet tonight. Last night was Twelfth Night. I wish I could understand Elizabethan English a bit better.
  18. Yesterday evening at dinner in Ashland prior to getting our fill of Shakespeare, we are sitting next to a young man with his young son and they are both decked out in Texas Tech jackets and hats. We had a friendly discussion but I certainly did not wish him well on September 9th! I will say that he was knowledgeable and confident about their chances.
  19. Hey 1Fun/duck, this was a really good and really smart article. thank you.
  20. I wonder if the real issue here is the source of family money was United Wholesale Mortgage. The residential mortgage business has slowed dramatically, the commercial mortgage business has stopped. The well might be empty.
