I have a hunch that Rogers is going to transfer to Bama.

I would imagine that Dan Lanning are being pursued by some players from UW. Do we want them?
We would definitely want Muhammad.

Their RT also declared for the NFL draft. -
Can Oregon use another DB? I think so. Imagine fuskie fan reactions if this guy transferred to Oregon.
Note: Dillon Gabriel just started following him as well.

Whittington and James are both 205-210 lbs. That’s pretty stout. Then you add the transfer Jay Harris who runs 220 lbs. He’s the big back but very agile. I watched his highlight reel and his mobility is impressive for a guy his size.

"Following DeBoer agreeing to coach Alabama in early afternoon, the UW called a players' meeting. One father posted that roughly only 25 percent of the team attended it."

The Arizona Athletic Department is broke. $5 to $6M would likely lure Jedd Fisch to Seattle and the B1G. Fisch's Arizona team gave UW a heck of a battle in Tucson.
But I'm sure the 'experts' will soon be out with more likely candidates. But Fisch is the guy, FWIW, that I'd go after.
He has tons of NFL experience. Hiring him would be nice but fuskie fans would be on pins and needles every time a NFL coach gets fired.

Doc, WOW! What was the source for this dollar amount? Thanks.
Washington's Kalen DeBoer hired to replace Nick Saban as Alabama football coach
WWW.NBCPHILADELPHIA.COM
Washington’s Kalen DeBoer has taken the head coaching job at Alabama following Nick Saban’s retirement.ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that Washington made a pitch to keep DeBoer and offered him a contract that would more than double his current $4.2 million salary. DeBoer would owe Washington $12 million as part of a buyout in a contract extension he signed with the university in November.

This is emblematic of the future and another example of Uncle Phil and Friends being so instrumental to Oregon's sports success.
I do not think that UW had a prayer of matching the Bama offer. Even in a Power 2, there is a strata of true contenders and the 'other guys.' Jen Cohen without a big budget pulled this hire out of her hat. Next up if I were UW AD Troy Dannen, I'm going to take a long look at Liberty's Jamey Chadwell.
They came up with $8.4M/year. DeBoer turned it down. I think he was fresh out of Petersen/Lake’s players and knew it was time to move nests.

Herein lies the difference between DL and DeBoer. Dan Lanning is a builder and Kalen DeBoer is a maintainer. One is basically an engineer the other is a mechanic. Sure, one kept winning races with a finely tuned machine while the other was inventing something to beat it. When they stopped making parts for the finely tune machine the mechanic moved on.

I wonder if DeBoer is going to recruit any of his former fuskie players from the “transfer portal” the same way Riley did with his former sooner players.
-
Go get him. Then bury him on the depth chart. Actually, we could probably use him.

I agree. UW fans are calling for Jedd Fisch, who I think probably has better long term upside than Deboer, and he can bring his staff Noah Fifita with him.
Frankly I think Alabama would have been better of with Fisch or the Missouri coach. Both can recruit, put together a staff a coach the game.
Fisch is a good coach but very poachable. If he has much more success the NFL is going to snatch him up because of his experience in the league. He has ties to Harbaugh and Michigan as well.

Josh Wilcox used to coach the Fuskies defense, so they could always go after him to “stick it to the Ducks”.

So who would replace DeBoer at Washington? Grubbs? Kingsbury? Who else?
I think Grubb goes with him. He will have an opportunity at a championship and then the HC offers will flow in. I think Kellen Moore is somebody to look out for. Then there is always Urban Meyer. His reputation could use a cleansing and uw is relatively stress free.

DeBoer is going to be hard to replace. However, as much as I hate to say it, he’s probably going to be replaced by a pretty good coach. Washington is an attractive job and since they offered DeBoer $8.4M to stay they have the money.

It turns out it was a fake account, so I deleted it. I still think Roger’s follows DeBoer. He’s going to want a passer in his offense. Milroe will eventually transfer to The U and run the ball until his heart is content.
