Yeah, casually one could think he is a drop in replacement for Tez, but that's not close to reality. He has the natural feel for running with the ball, but not necessarily running routes and catching balls.
He had two carries for 17 yards this season and only one receiving TD. Lanning may snatch him up, but if he doesn’t I don’t think Oregon fans will be disappointed.

My favorite quote from the article:
”However, the narrative has taken an unexpected turn, with Sanders and his team claiming the ultimate victory—Travis Hunter winning the 2024 Heisman Trophy, a silent response to Lanning’s infamous “playing for clicks” comment.“
Apparently, an individual award is the “ultimate” victory in Boulder.
Deion Sanders shows Dan Lanning it's not 'clicks' — Colorado plays for Heisman wins

The tension between Deion Sanders and Dan Lanning reached a unique climax as the two coaches found themselves in the same room for the first time since Oregon’s-

Should we win it all, it'll quickly go from, "You've won 0 championships" to "Well, you've only won one! Come talk to me when you've won 7 or 8!"
I live in the south, deep in the heart of SEC country, and one thing I can tell you with an absolute certainty is no matter how good you are, you will NEVER be good enough in their eyes.
You're not kidding. UGA still can't get any respect from Bama fans. I would just tell them that they will never experience the joy of watching their team break through and win their first championship.

I think the NCAA can put a cap on revenue sharing dollars, but I don’t think they can cap the amount of money a player can make from their NIL. That would be like the NBA capping LeBron’s endorsement money.

Me, no thanks to Branch.
I like the room we have and the young talent.
I do not want to scare away recruits if we get too much of a reputation for portal poaching.
However, I will always trust Dan and the gang.
Agreed. Branch has had problems with drops and he's a package deal with his brother.

From what I understand, Oregon's NIL collective is more than just dropping bags of money on prospective players. These prospects are sold the opportunity to leverage Oregon and NIke's branding, marketing and creative teams to maximize their NIL opportunities. They have a lot of credibility when it comes to selling these guys on what they can offer. It doesn't hurt when you can use examples like Michael, Tiger, Kobe and LeBron as proof of your success in developing personal brands.
Another aspect is the prospects future with the company. If I know I'm going to get drafted, why wouldn't I transfer to Oregon and start the process of setting up a future endorsement? This could also be why you don't see a lot of Oregon's star players deciding to hit the portal (it's usually guys who will never get much playing time). It doesn't pay to burn that relationship with "The Swoosh".

You gotta watch out for Vols fans. They have no problem taking out a second mortgage on their double-wides to afford to go to bowl games. They also ramp up corn liquor production for extra cash just in case they make it the national championship game.

He should suggest the quarters system vs. semesters to his bosses. The academic types love when coaches do that.

This doesn't stem from Ohio State fan disinterest. The pre-sale code for Buckeye fans was leaked. As an aside, I will say that anybody with even the slightest cyber awareness training would know that this code word was not secure enough.
From this article:
"The get-in price as of Tuesday morning was as low as $142 on StubHub. The Ticketmaster presale code ‘OSUFB’ leaked online last week, when tickets were put on sale for Ohio State fans. The leak ended with Tennessee fans and ticket resellers getting a head start on the ticket market."

Maybe I'm just naive.
It's possible. After all, I'm only 31 years old.
Or maybe I'm just BIASED. Yeah, that's it. I have no problem admitting that. I LOVE me some Oregon Ducks, man.
So I beseech you, my fellow Duck fans, particularly the elder statesmen among you. Perhaps one of you can explain to me how Oregon has held the No. 1 ranking since the Illinois game, won the B1G in their first year, secured wins over THREE playoff teams, finished the regular season as the nation's ONLY unbeaten team, and yet they don't have a single 1st team All-American?
HUH?!
So let me get this straight: No first team All-American, only ONE second teamer, and only TWO third teamers, one which was a Heisman finalist, no award winners outside of Bryce Boettcher (unless I'm missing something), no coach of the year, head coach, assistant or otherwise, no NOTHING. If I hadn't watched a single game, I'd think that Oregon's unbeaten record was a fluke and that they were just a bunch of lucky Ducks (pun intended) who would soon have their luck run out.
But of course, I know better. I saw the games, all of them. OBD have EARNED that top ranking many times over.
So what gives?
Sound off below!
I think there are two reasons. the first is Oregon is very balanced. They have a 1000-yard rusher, a Moore Award finalist O-Line and a very efficient QB. The defense is the same. Look at the UW game. Ten sacks split between eight different players. They also have a CB who nobody wants to throw at. The Ducks play just isn't sexy enough for the stat-driven awards voters.
The second reason is the perception that Uncle Phil is buying players. This is only OK if Ohio State (blue blood) or Ole Miss (SEC) does it. Oregon using the same rules as everyone else to win a national championship is about as acceptable as Elon Musk trying to become a member of Augusta National Golf club. In other words, their money is the wrong shade of green and the bills are too crisp.
There comes a time when a person realizes they will never get invited to the party. So, they can either quit trying or kick the door down and liven the place up a little.

With Dowdell from Nebraska on deck...
I wouldn't want him back and I hope DL doesn't either. He runs from competition. He got beat out by Emmett Johnson and hit the road for his 3rd school in 3 years. Maybe old "Coach Soft Batch" will pat him on his head and tell him everything will be alright if he comes to Columbus.

If they want to keep the regular season meaningful while also keeping the conference championship games, then make them part of the playoffs. The playoff teams would consist of the eight teams fighting for P4 conference championships. This year it would be Oregon, Penn State, UGA, Texas, ASU, ISU, Clemson and SMU. The four winners advance, and the top two ranked teams get a bye in the next round.
Then, pick four wild-card teams. They would be the four highest ranked teams to not make their CCG. This year it would be Notre Dame, Tennessee, Ohio State and Indiana (Sorry Boise you didn't make the cut). These four teams play a wild card round on the same weekend as the CCG's.
The two wild card winners then play the third and fourth seeded conference champions in the second round on December 21st (this keeps their games from interfering with the Army Navy game). For arguments sake, let's say the second round would be Notre Dame/Clemson and ASU/Ohio State.
Then, the semi-finals would be played on New Year's Day. Let's say it would be Oregon/OSU and UGA/ Notre Dame. The winners would meet in the NCG two Mondays from the semi-final. They still have a 12-team playoff but the season length stays the same.
There will always be somebody griping about being left out, but that's life. The NFL gives deference to conference champions, so it's not unprecedented. That is why the 2008 NFL playoffs included the 8-8 Chargers but left out the 11-5 Patriots and why the 7-9 Seahawks made the NFL playoffs in 2010. This argument that the playoff needs to include the 12 top teams in the nation is a bunch of BS.

This is very telling. The starting QB transferred to Duke, so there is an opening. He may have been told the job is going to somebody else.

The Joe Moore Award winners currently have about 60 yards rushing against Navy with under a minute left in the first half. They’re going to have to be better than that if they want to win this game.

And yet, the Oregon QB has never seems to be bothered by the overwhelming decibel level the visiting fans make at Autzen,
Duck fans will always outnumber opposing fans. However, they can make Autzen look like this. And the other half of Autzen was about 30% Husker fans. They were splattered amongst the yellow clad Duck fans.
This doesn’t bother Oregon QB’s. This keeps Oregon fans from bothering opposing QB’s.

I disagree. The same thing happens in the Rose Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl, national championship games, etc. Even home games are an embarrassment. Look at the pictures from the Tennessee game in 2013 or the Nebraska game in 2017.
The quotes on social media revolved around the theme that “It’s easy to take over their little stadium“. Say what you want about proportionality, the Ducks need to be built for the road after the regular season.

How many stadiums in the B1G are over 100,000? How much bigger are the alumni bases than ours? In terms of travel...I think Oregon punches above its weight class.
For a national brand, Oregon is horribly underrepresented. The B1G Championship game was proof that. I just think Duck fans are a bit more mature about their college football fandom compared to traditional brands.
For example, when the SEC says “It just means more”, they’re saying that buying Sugar Bowl tickets just means more than buying nutritious food, diapers and toilet paper for a few months.
