Kirby Smart - 2016 First Season at Georgia
florida duck replied to Desert Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Something that needs to be considered is how well Kirby Smart knows Dan Lanning and how he thinks. The teacher plain outsmarted the student. Thing will get better, and i believe sooner rather than later, -

Should Fans Feel Compelled to Contribute to NIL?
florida duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Donating to a nil fund without any idea of who and where it goes to is not a good idea. The collective could keep 50 percent or more of the money donated and as far as i know it would be completely legal. -

Ducks vs Bulldawgs...What's the Score?

I Think a two game leash. He should have a good game against Georgia, No more than two givaways. int or fumbles. and be around 60-65 percent completion.Win or loss not a deciding factor in that game, Just a solid game, In the next game. he needs to blow away Eastern Washington, by the first half so our young qbs can play. In fact in game 2 our Butterfield or Thompson should be playing in the second half no matter what.

This is a huge can of worms. Football and Basketball support a lot of the minor sports. If they start revenue sharing with players, how long before the budgets to all the minor sports get cut. And at what point to we just declare that football and basketball are no longer college sports but a private business ran by the tv networks. And since crap runs downhill, high school would be come the new college ball. Just mho

It seems that a lot of Bo's interceptions were when he was on the run. Hopefully the Oregon line will offer better protection and thus less need for forced throws. I gota say though some of those scrambles would sure get the adrenaline pumping. Can you just imagine how Autzen would sound after one of those.

Joining sec would be nice.I dont see them really needing the ducks. I think a expansion of the ACC would be a better option. We would have better bargaining power. They could use exposure in the west with better teams. It would give us better access to the hot bed of recruiting in florida and the southeast. And think we could be playing Miami. That could alone be a new rivalry. Acc could grab mabye 4 former pac12 teams, and gain a foothold in the west allowing a better media market in the west.

I would love to see Oregon join the SEC. I could see some of their games. But in my opinion even though we see many posts saying travel would not be a problem with the superconferences, and that is possibly true. There are multiple other sports involved. The cost would sky rocket if all our other teams also had to travel to the east coast. My crazy thought, why not just make a conference for football and let all other sports stay pack 12. Football is moving far away from a simple college sport at this time anyway.

Which Pac-12 Teams do Best at Developing 3-Star Talent

I think what some people might have missed is these rankings are based on the percentage of three star players that have been drafted into the pros. -
Oregon Will Not Pay Top-NIL for QBs: Should They?
florida duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Its a sticky mess we have to walk through. With unlimited funds, aka texas a&m, just my opinion, go for it. I believe that even Uncle Phil has limits. Even more he understands that a 5 star qb or running back, certainly doesnt mean they will be successfull. l. Seastrunk with a #32 national rating or 20 Thomas Tyner. Yet we can find Diamonds in the rough, T Dye 595, Herbert 659, even l James 464. So mabye we dont need the top 5 star qb, We do need a coaching staff that can find and coach these players that want to play. Not the ones that want pay for play. -
The Case against Mc Coy was dismissed because of lack of evidence. This doesn't mean he is innocent or guilty. Only there was not enough evidence. Just remember back we had a player charged with charges of menacing, strangulation and assault. We all know how that turned out. I believe he could be a high risk high reward type of player. He would certainly need to be on a short leash with no room for any transgressions. Here is an interesting article about him that was done previously to the charges that were filed against him.

Beware? The “Super-League” Future of College Football
florida duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Five years ago i would have said you were crazy. Now though I can see that really happening. Then it stops being college football and becomes minor league football. Is the next step making high school football the new college teams. -
Urban Meyer Fallout Affects Oregon?

I just wonder at what point do we need a excellent coach over a excellent recruiter. Just posing the question, Im not sure of the correct answer. -
Mullens Takes a Mulligan, Then Makes the Right Hire
florida duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I love all the former players and what they did for us, but we hired a local guy that would stay forever after kelly left and we all know how that turned out. It also shows us that a really good head coordinator, doesn't necessary mean they will be a good coach. Lets hope the latter in this case isnt true. All the best recruits in the states wont help if you can't coach. -
