Rogue Ales Hazelnut Brown Nectar is another great dark beer.

When I have to buy beer at the store I like Laurelwood Free Range Red, and recently discovered Caldera Ashland Amber. But the best beer of all is my own homebrew, a sort of clone of McMennamin's Hammerhead. Mine is a little darker in color and slightly less hoppy. I call it "Homerhead", and oh, baby... it's soooo good!

Matt Prehm's latest update on coaching search: 5 pm Dec. 7

I like Aranda best of all the names I've heard floated. Lots of youthful energy, recent success, recruiting ties to So. Cal and Texas, defensive minded. Seems like solid character, and we already know he looks good in green and yellow! -
Earthquake Bill Enyart, former Medford Black Tornado, my alma mater! I grew up next door to Coach Speigelberg, and must admit I was a Beaver fan back then. Played front yard football with Scott and Barry.

I not sure exactly why, but hiring Kiffin feels to me like selling your soul for a natty. -

Aranda would be my first choice with Brady or Tedford as OC

Cam Rising must be about 35 judging by the looks of his hairline.

Oregon AD Rob Mullens Unhappy with Miami: "Never Contacted"
Wood Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
In this day and age of college football every AD should have a prepared list of HC candidates ready at the end of any successful season, because you know somebody is coming after yours. -
Let's Just Take Miami's Money and Move on.

I was remembering when Oregon hired Altman, I didn't know who he was or anything about him. For me it was a head scratcher. No ties to the west coast or U of O that I'm aware of and look at the success he's had here. I think he was a home run hire, and I hope Mullen and PK can find someone similar for the football team. I hope (and suspect) they may have started searching three weeks ago. -
Career Night By Parrish Sparks Ducks

Any word on Taylor Hosendove being cleared to play? -
Maybe cheaper, but no way does Florida have better tasting beer than right here in Oregon. I think Mario can afford it. BTW, I brew the most delicious beer on the planet in my own garage for about $1.00 per pint! Sorry, it's not for sale tho.

I think the "getting revenge" and "payback" mindset was the wrong motivation. That is the opposite their 1/0 philosophy. Should have been focused on taking advantage of the opportunity they earned through a season of hard work, to win the P12 championship. The prize is now within your grasp. Go take it.

First thing I'd do is burn those horrid uniforms like, yesterday. What's wrong with good old green and yellow? Second, I don't think I'll miss JoMo. Once again T Dye averages about 6 yds. per, only gets 15 carries? Lastly, I'd like to see Ty Thompson start in the meaningless bowl game, like last year with Shuck, but give TT the whole game. AB had his shot, bye now.

That didn't look like targeting to me. I understand trying to limit helmet to helmet contact, but it will never be eliminated entirely (unless you eliminate helmets) Looked to me like his facemask mostly hit shoulder pad. I sure didn't see him launch head first into the receiver.

It sure was fun watching Chip's Ducks regularly putting up 40, 50, 60+ points per game, but I'd be happy with a "ground and pound" running identity, so long as it results in W's. I think Chip himself once said something like "I don't care how many points we score, as long as at the end of the game we have one more point than they do."

The first game I attended at Autzen was the 1983 "Civil War", so for me, 9 or 10 wins and a bowl game feels pretty friggin' good.

I watched KT being double and triple teamed against Utah, (when he wasn't dropping back in coverage -what the ????) which should be expected. I also expected someone else to be able to get pressure under that circumstance. I like Mario a lot, but I'm not sold yet on Moorhead or DeRuyter. My knock on Mario in the Utah game is the team did not appear to play with any energy or emotion, sense of urgency. That's on the head coach. His team didn't look ready to play.

Whenever I hear "third and long" with the Ducks on defense I think - oh no, they've got us right where they want us!

No one could disagree that MC is a quality individual and an excellent representative of the U of O. Its just a game, albeit with lots of $$$ floating around, but what better example of how to conduct yourself as a human than MC. For me that's almost as valuable as the win/loss record. I know you've gotta win, but come on, he's light years better than the guy he replaced, and even Chip left here under a little cloud of allegations if I recall correctly. The Chip Kelly era was so much fun, but I think he benefitted from being in the right place at the right time at a certain level. MC seems intent on building something more lasting here, and if we have to live with 10-2 or even 9-3 sometimes (the horror!) we should probably feel blessed.
