  1. This was also my main gripe for the game. Just get that first first down and build a little rhythm before going for it all. One does not tempt fate down on the farm where bad things regularly like to happen.
  2. Furd got the ball first and went on a 17 play drive the took half the first quarter and got a field goal. Ducks then had a three and out then Furd got it back and kept it the rest of the quarter. After they kicked another field goal, UO dominated the rest of the game 42-0. A weird quarter but I'm not to concerned.
  3. UO 57-3 3 turnovers 6 sacks 360 yrds passing
  4. He seems to always be two steps ahead of what needs to get done. Remember when he was just hired and managing the best defensive unit in recent memory on a championship run and on the side, holding together UO's recruiting class? He even called Florence while leaving the championship field. He came in, got introduced and said the right thing in every interview. Then brought in top level portal transfers and plugged up the worst roster holes like QB and patched together a near playoff caliber team. His offensive and defensive concepts are both cutting edge state of the art and the staff he built has been top notch since day one. Not to be some homer fan boy, but it's hard to find much fault in how he has lead the team the last two seasons. In short, I'd say he's just a guy that gets it. Looking forward to where this is all heading.
  5. I love the J14 formation. Glad to see it again. Can't wait for more.
  6. WSU destroyed CSU on the road. So would TT. So would UO. Ducks cover.
  7. One of the most terrifying aspects of the Beavs this year is that not only are they legit built for this moment, they are playing for their Power Conference lives. They may be the scariest team in the PAC simply because they have the most to lose. In fact, I'd bet that if they go 5-0 or so, they would become the new national story replacing the Buffs after their loses begin to mount. The B12 really should figure out a a way to bring in both OSU and WSU. The best way for the B12 to compete with the BIG and SEC, is to have as many legit programs as possible in it.
  8. I just hope all the chronic whining from SUC fans about UO joining the BIG cements UO/SUC as rivals. I'm sure if FOX wants it, it will happen.
  9. WSU destroyed CSU on the road. CU barely escapes CSU at home. Which do you think will be ranked higher this week? The CU hype train has just six more days until it derails.
  10. UO 45-16 6 sacks 4 tos 325 passing yards
  11. I think Lanning put a target on his team's back for a reason. I think he wants to see who elevates their game to the moment and who doesn't. I believe who ever starts the second half of this game will be the ones he sees as the ones who are ready to lead. His words helped send this from a big conference game to a big national game. I'm sure he new what he was doing. It will now be put up or shut up time for both teams. Can't wait.
  12. Don't know where Baker end up. Maybe he's a Duck and maybe not. To me it doesn't really matter. At this point, I don't see much difference between football NIL chasers and basketball's five star one and dones. In both cases I would much prefer solid three and four stars that are just ballers over big ego attention seekers. I'll support any team win or lose if they give everything they've got. If the UO is just a stop on their way to bling city, what's the point? If they don't care, why should I?
  13. Texas Tech's D was better than most people realize and the Ducks O still put up over 30 points on it in a tough road environment. I'm not too concerned on that side of the ball. Improvement on D is where my focus will be for Hawaii. After two games the 1st and 2nd strings should begin to solidify and I'm curious about who starts taking over their spots. Against TT, the amount of havoc plays created by the D seemed to increase as the game wore on. I want to see that trend continue this week, and I'll be interested to see who is on the field creating the havoc and who is not. On offense, I still want to see some solid work put in by QB2 and see some confidence in running the show. Against CU, UW, SC, WSU, Utah and OSU, the D will be needed to keep the opponents from lighting up the scoreboard. That's a lot of offense to have to stop in one season. If the D gets it together, this could be a special season.
  14. The B12 really should grab up OSU and WSU. Both schools are top 25 capable right now and would strengthen that conference right away.
  15. Very tough game to fully process. First, I'd have to give Tech props. They may end up a 9-3 top 25 team when it's all said and done that simply botched their first game of the year. The Ducks may have just won a brawl on the road against a very motivated quality team with players that can make plays. When looking at UO's negatives, I think it's important to keep that in mind. Next, I'd have to say that was one of the worst coached games of the Lanning era except for the OSU meltdown. Two 0s on the field for the opening kick off? 14 penalties for well over 100 yards? The return of the Mario offense? That is all on the coaching and that needs to improve immediately. On the plus side, taking back momentum in the 4th quarter, winning it 20-3. In a tough road environment, with the home team having all the second half momentum, the Ducks absolutely owned the fourth quarter and won going away. If there is a half full glass in this case, I'd say it's the resilience the team displayed. in the end that is the ultimate positive. Hopefully the Ducks learned enough to get better quickly. Today, there are 8 Pac teams in ESPN's top 25 and the Ducks play 6 out of the other 7.
  16. Great article. PSU had two goals entering this game. One was to collect a paycheck. The other was to avoid injuries. Congrats to them for achieving both. If Texas Tech goes 8-20 passing for 51 yards, I'd consider that a successful day of defense. If Michael Jordan just stands at half court being triple teamed while his team destroys the opponent with a 4 on 2 miss match, you wouldn't say they shut down MJ. That's how If feel about zero sacks while the team basically gave up on a passing attack.
  17. I tuned into this game when TT was already up 17-3. Announcers were talking about how TT was absolutely dominant up to that point but I didn't see it. What I did see was Wyoming battling much harder than TT and deserving the win. I didn't see nearly enough defensive power to stop the UO offensive machine. I didn't see enough offensive power to over power the UO defense. Each game is different sure but what I saw last night looks like an up coming tewnty ish point victory for the Ducks.
  18. Maybe just maybe with the Ivy League west finally gone, The Pac 2 can still invite in the best of the Mountain West and rebuild a respectable conference. OSU, WSU, SD St, Fresno St, Boise St, UNLV, CSU, Hawaii wouldn't be a bad start. Maybe Apple still wants a foot in the door of college football and dishes out $10M a school and maybe even pushing closer to $15M with subscription incentives. That would be better than simply joining the MWC for all schools involved. I'm still rooting for the Pac to survive this.
  19. I want to see a real QB2 show up. That’s my biggest concern.
  20. All the best to you and yours SoGaDawg.
  21. The more SUC fans spew hatred for OBD, the more inclined the BIG will be to schedule their yearly beat down and that’s all right with me.
  22. Backing up his team while keeping one foot in the door with Lanning. Smart guy!
  23. Oh I agree the $15M per would be a stretch for the schools I suggested. It would more be for Apple to invest in a foot hold in the college sports market. They could afford a little up front loss for the benefits to kick in down the road.
  24. Flowe is like an insane drummer that smashes the cymbals and does crazy fills all around the drum kit, doing everything but actually keeping a steady beat.
