QUAAACK! Rivals 4-Star Linebacker Commits to Oregon!
Loving the quality over quantity approach. USC 34 commits? Sheesh.

A New Stein-Threat, and Pate Pushes Oregon to His No. 3?
If OBD sends another OC off to be a head coach of a major program, they will once again bring in whoever they want.

The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
I remember being at an Utah game awhile back and the Ducks had a comfortable but not dominant lead. An injured Bo had to come out for a play and in comes TT. In his only play of the game he bungles a hand off that turns into a scoop and score and all of a sudden OBD are in a dogfight. No matter who ends up being QB2 or whoever enters the portal, I'm just glad those days are long behind us. I have confidence that QB2-4 would be capable of coming in and at least looking like they belong on the field.

Ducks vs. Them Rutgers
Penn St lost a tough game at home to a top ten team and never recovered. OBD does the same thing and Lanning shows the team film of recovering after being mauled by a bear! Aside from giving up bookend turnovers that lead to giving up ten points, the Ducks played about as flawless a game as I have seen. Rutgers is not that good but they also aren't that bad. Before their 46 point blowout to the Ducks they had lost to Iowa by 10, Minnesota by 3, and Washington by 19. Hardly the doormat that OBD made them look like on Saturday. In those loses their offense had scored 28, 28 and 19. This blowout was more about the Ducks digging down deep to find a better team than they were before. I think we may have just seen a young but dangerous team mature into a dangerous team. A+ coaching this week was nicely revealed in this week's episode.

Ruh-Roh! Mario DID Outperform! (In Entertainment)
What an awesome football weekend. Ducks bust out the steam roller and the trifecta of gleeful misery as SUC fuskies and the fighting Mario’s all go down!

The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
As the third quarter beatdown progressed, I was eagerly anticipating an answer to this confusing question but nope. I can accept the Novo talk of caution due to injury but that does not explain the Moga disappearance. Against Indiana when the offense was clearly figured out and was completely shutdown, I was expecting to see some sort of Moga trickery to show up to throw the Indy D off and maybe find some momentum but nope. Something seems to be going on behind the scenes that we may not find out until after the season. Enquiring minds want to know!

Ruh-Roh! The Leading Beavis HC Candidate is....Jonathan Smith of Michigan State?
Some choice quotes from Beavis believers themselves. That’s like taking back your ex after they cheated on you, moved in with the person they were cheating on you with then you taking them back after things didn’t work out with the other one. My Beaver gear would be at goodwill. “Id rather wake up With my head sewn to the carpet…..”

Oregon’s Offensive Line Folds To Indiana
Great topic and article. I also wonder why they would drift away from both Davidson and the power run game. Coming into this game, it felt like Indy was playing the role of the Kelly era Ducks (quick and scrappy) and the Ducks had become more like the Stanford and tOSU teams that could beat them (physical run games with top end QB and receivers). Indy then preceded to play to their strength but OBD did not. Instead, we seemed obsessed with bubble screens and running outside where Indy's quickness was having success. The power game seemed to be effective most of the game but was never relied on the way Furd or the Buckeyes would have. I think long plodding drives would have demoralized them and worn them down like the Ducks back in the day. Second and six, third and two, first down, rinse and repeat all the way down the field for seven minutes would have worn them down and made them more vulnerable to some explosion plays. Davidson should have had twenty carries in this game not just eight. The quick three and outs and interceptions kept the D out there way to long and wore us down instead. I hope the coaching staff learns a lot from this one because I feel the bulk of the responsibility for this loss is on them.

James Franklin is Out at Penn State
I sure hope that coach Cig stays at Indy. Not because of the possible PSU improvement, but because Indiana deserves it. Does PSU take a look at Fisch or Dilly?

Whoa! Did You Hear That Massive THUD Out There?
For a team full of diaper dandies as Dick Vitale would say, this humiliating loss may be just what the team needs in the long run. Last year's tOSU beatdown was more about their A game being way more than anybody else's A game let alone B- game. This year they saw first hand that a scrappy little dog is more dangerous than a lethargic big dog. Though rhetorically obvious these lessons often need to be learned first hand. Don't be surprised if the team is much improved after this loss. I'm more concerned on the coaching front. Our last four big games haven't seen the best coaching. BIG Championship PSU: After building a sizeable lead, the team limped to the finish line needing a big play on D to escape. Playoff tOSU: Did'nt look remotely prepared from the get go and Lanning's worst game at the worst time. PSU 2025: After building a sizeable lead, the team limped to the finish needing a big play on D to escape. Indy 2025: Out coached in every phase all game long and getting worse as the game wore on. As the team's young 4-5 star guys mature into team leaders, the results should improve. I just want to see the coaching staff have better game plans coming in to top ten matchups with better adjustments to fix what's not working. As far as bandwagon elbow room, I personally enjoy being in an underdog position in top level matchups. I much rather celebrate with joy from a win than simply golf clap an expected win. When losing is a real possibility, the game is much more thrilling to watch.

Post-Game Thoughts: Will Oregon Grow From This?
Observations The O line is not championship caliber. Coach Cig had his team better prepared than Lanning did and I’d say coached better during the game as well. Didn’t see a plan B from Will Stein when the passing game got bottled up. OBD may end up 11-1 or 10-2 maybe be a playoff team but that seems like the ceiling this year.

A B1G Autzen Expansion? 'Not-So-Fast!'
Another thing to consider is how many more Duck fans are you going to bring in vs opposing fans. As a small population state, we’re likely close to maxed out on OBD fans but would easily bring in several thousand more opposing fans negating our raucous advantage.

Hoo-Boy! Facts, Funnies, & Testy-Trolling!

Texas, Penn St., Clemson . . . Who is the Bigger Fraud?
Mario tried to blow it against FSU. It just didn’t work. He was up Three scores in the fourth quarter and three and outed in under two minutes with incomplete passes. Then up only two scores, he basically did it again. Only FSU’s horrible on side kicks kept the collapse from being completed. The beautiful thing about the classic Mario face plant is the loss doesn’t have to be on the schedule.

Are You Reconsidering Your Respect for the CFB 'Experts?'
I'd have to respect them first to change my tune. Pundits in a nutshell: Bama, Texas, UGA: it's their year! Blah blah blah. Whoever beats Bama, Texas, UGA: it's their year! Blah blah blah. tOSU, Michigan, USC, ND: It's their year! Blah blah blah. Whoever beats tOSU, Michigan, USC, ND: It's their year! Blah blah blah.

Oregon Broke Penn State
In two years at the UO, Rueben Droughns played in eleven games and had half of OU's top ten rushing games. Un freaking believable.

Oh Beavis....Lost to Appalachian State?
Is it too late to squeeze Penn St into the schedule?

Oregon Football: The Bye Week Blues
Fun article. I think Mario goes down this week at FSU. He's risen to #2 in the country on the back of a 27-24 home win over 2-2 Notre Dame. Seems like the perfect set up for Mario's yearly Chevy Chase stumble routine.
