  1. To paraphrase ZZ Top: They have depth and they know how to use it. I only see a couple games on the schedule that they may want to ride the 1s and 2s most of the game. Outside of redshirt considerations, the 3s and 4s should still see plenty of playing time. The drop off from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 is unbelievably small. What a time to be a Duck fan.
  2. If Novo is looking at being QB1 in 2026, I don’t see him going anywhere. Also 2026 Novo 2027 Moga 2028 Smith Jr works for me. I think learning from the best and waiting your turn to run a top offense in the country would be a smart decision.
  3. Wow. That let it rip mentally is dangerous. I think he’s telling his team he believes they’ve arrived and just go out there and get it done. The blocking in this game was insane. They were driving guys back thirty, forty yards on the long plays. This team looks motivated. Lanning looks possessed. What a lucky fan base we are.
  4. Continuing FGD’s theme from above, I feel the competition for playing time this year is real. The guys that are the 1s seem to have the focus of knowing how close the 2s are. The 2s seem to know the 3s are right on their heels as well. If Mariota’s ‘14 team had anything close to this amount of depth, they win the Natty. Still a long way to go of course and the competition hasn’t been stellar but this does feel different.
  5. Great post Doc. Blocking seems to be more about passion than responsibility for this team.
  6. Just got home from the he game and haven’t seen replays but on I think the last twenty something yard TD run, I saw a lineman blasting his man back through the end zone while leading the runner. I could only think wowza! Yes this OL looks special.
  7. OBD 46-10 3 TOs 6 Sacks 285 passing yards
  8. I’m loving the classic color schemes and I hope they continue with BIG opponents especially on national TV. I might be an old foggie but I don’t understand why they would want to look not like the Ducks in front of a national audience.
  9. Interesting topic. I’m sure OBD have had many internal discussions on it probably with PK himself. I don’t know what the answer is but since the Ducks have been leaders in innovation for the last couple decades, I’d bet it’s a good one.
  10. Prowess is a Buttiful thing.
  11. I don’t think it’s a good look to the team when the coach starts making excuses for the loss before the game is even played.
  12. You’re right my bad. Still some what shocking that they didn’t vault into the top ten which is usually the reward for beating a top ten SEC team.
  13. I’m surprised that FSU didn’t move at all after walloping Bama. Do the Carolina Bills drop into the bottom ten?
  14. If it makes you feel better Gat, 2008 was also when your Gators beat out Ducks in the elite eight on the way to their basketball championship. That was our best run since winning it all in 1939 until our final four in 2017. Yes we’re thirsty for another one of those trophies as well!
  15. As I mentioned in another thread, I think he’s trying to get his donors to pony up. He’s basically saying his team will be perma stuck in irrelevance until they do and that would be a correct assessment.
  16. Great article. I had an interesting conversation with a Bobcats fan at a restaurant post game. I told him I thought they actually looked pretty good as they didn’t really have many breakdowns and give up huge chunk or game changers minus the punt blocks. I told him the reason for the lop sided score was more due to the Ducks simply winning one play after another on both sides of the ball. Four and five star guys doing four and five star things all day long will do that. This game reminded me a lot of the Georgia game for the same reasons. It really felt like nearly every player deserved MVP for how solid they all played throughout the game. Montana St looked like a well coached and disciplined team that ran into another well coached and disciplined team with much more fire power. No shame in that. I think this may be the beginning of a special season.
  17. There should be a base metric for opponent win percentage involved. If it is just based on rankings then the SEC beating it’s own over ranked teams will always inflate it’s own rankings. Official rankings should also have nothing to do with pre or early season rankings for the same reasons. If your entire conference is all preseason ranked them somebody will always be beating a ranked team. By seasons end those early season ranked wins won’t mean much if those loosing teams fade throughout the season.
  18. This match up reminds me of how I feel when SUC or fuskies are in a bowl game. I’m not actually rooting for them to win I just don’t want them to blow it for the conference.
  19. Not looking good for the Colorado Clicks.
  20. Just went out and got a yellow shirt, the only color I didn’t have. It reminded me of back to school shopping as a kid and my biggest priority was seeing what the new Duck shirts looked like that year. My favorite was the Duck flying a bomber with Kamikaze Kids on the side. Now that I think about it, I probably haven’t grown up much since then!
  21. What the %#£¥ was Lupoi thinking! There it’s already begun!
  22. Thanks Drake. Go Ducks!
  23. I’ve heard that this game is a stripe out but I don’t know which section is which color. Can any Duck buddies out their pass along this crucial information?
  24. Great topic Gat. I think Neb’s problem is that the more national college football has become the less regional relevance it’s become. Elite recruits have so many more options these days than just the conference super powers of yesterday year. I think this is also the key issue for many other former top ten fixtures like SUC, LSU and the Florida schools. Before it’s resent resurgence, Texas also watched most of it’s in state players heading elsewhere I’d expect this trend to continue and the Cornhuskers will have to look back at their faded glory like Minnesota, Harvard and Yale.
