  1. UO has more 4/5 star commits than USC and UCLA combined. Also UO 14, rest of Pac North 12. Wow.
  2. ASU is a disastrous failure waiting to happen for any coach let alone a new one. FSU and Miami were miles ahead of ASU in stability and two established coaches have failed miserably at them. Dilly has everything he needs to succeed at UO including top notch coaching/ recruiting staff, a national brand for the recruiting trail, a gratuitous donor, and a recent history of on field success. Succeed here a couple more years and he could land a solid head coaching gig if that’s what he wants. I think he’s way too smart to fall for the ASU fools gold but if he’s not, the next OC Lanning brings in should do just fine.
  3. The south started the war so it was started to perpetuate slavery but I think this tangent of the topic goes off into the political weeds.
  4. Mario. The train that keeps on wrecking.
  5. The PAC has four top 10 caliber teams. Outside of Utah losing to Florida, they have only lost to each other, the defending champs and top 20 UW. No other conference except the SEC can claim that. The champ of a tough conference should get in regardless of conference record.
  6. The Duck D giving up only 10 points to Utah I’m sure has them concerned. Twenty something points should be enough to win it.
  7. No way Tennessee should be above UO. Alabama is also questionable. If USC can get into the top four, UO may still sneak in if they run the table.
  8. Here’s to hoping that UO and Utah have many top ten battles for PAC supremacy in the future.
  9. I think a hobbled Nix forced the Ducks to do just enough to win and gave Utah the confidence to be aggressive without the danger of Nix running wiled to make them pay. Glad to see the D show up and save this one.
  10. Cam’s game saving tackle in the late INT was the play of the game in my opinion. Yes outstanding athleticism on that one.
  11. Would we have to root for fuskies over Cougs in a he Apple Cup? Yuck yuck yuck! I’d do it I guess but yuck!
  12. Dilly is an offensive genius but I’d suggest a rule that a qb needs to able to get a first down before letting them try a trick play. The ratio of turn overs or lost yardage per TT play is mind boggling.
  13. Sounds like they’re putting in overtime down at the rumor mill.
  14. Yes the coaches dropped a few balls this week. At least this staff will go over those mistakes and process through them, learn and grow from them. I'd rather have that after a lose than simply blaming it on lack of physicality and nothing changes.
  15. I think after the D went full Swiss cheese and gave up that 62 yarder in about ten seconds. Lanning didn't trust the D to stop UW from anywhere. With that in mind I think going for it was the safest option but a think I timeout to put Bo back in and set up a good play is the hindsight move that should have happened.
  16. TT seems like a nice kid and I wish him good luck in life but out on the field, that's just what he looks like, a nice kid. I haven't seen the slightest spark of competitive fire. I've been a big fan of most of Lanning and Dilly's decisions but I think it's time to move on and give Butterfield a look.
  17. Maybe my favorite Duck moment ever was watching the 94 Husky game in a Seattle bar. As the fuskies marched down the field late in the game, everyone myself included all saw the inevitable Husky victory about to unfold and then Kenny Wheaton sprang into Duck history. The silence in that bar was music to my ears.
  18. Schedule a top level SEC team every year. Even if every SEC game we play is on the road, they would be bringing the UO team down to the recruiting hot bed every year! This year was an anomaly breaking in a new coach playing against his old team that just won a championship. Has that ever happened before? Let those future recruits see the UO brand of football in person. Win lose or draw, I think it helps the Ducks in the long run. When the 12 team playoff gets under way and just winning the Pac gets you in the playoffs then there really is no reason not to play the SEC every year.
  19. From some scattered quotes I've heard from Lanning, I think he felt there was too much learning curve to the aggressive style he likes to coach. I think bend but don't break is his fall back plan being utilized as the team continues to grow understanding of the scheme. I think next year will begin the era of stout defensive schemes. Remember, this is still the youngest team in the country and they're trying to learn a new system from new coaches. It's nice being able to critique the problems the defense is having while sitting at #6 in the country and a real threat to make the playoffs. Even with the poor third down stats, they still have had double digit late game leads on everybody since UGA, They even had a 10 point lead against WSU late until the hail Marry. Lanning has found a way to have the defense be successful while still trying to figure out the system. Pretty impressive really.
  20. I want to thank all the fusky fans and media for working so hard to make me care about a 15-2 "rivalry".
