  1. As I mentioned in another thread, I think he’s trying to get his donors to pony up. He’s basically saying his team will be perma stuck in irrelevance until they do and that would be a correct assessment.
  2. Great article. I had an interesting conversation with a Bobcats fan at a restaurant post game. I told him I thought they actually looked pretty good as they didn’t really have many breakdowns and give up huge chunk or game changers minus the punt blocks. I told him the reason for the lop sided score was more due to the Ducks simply winning one play after another on both sides of the ball. Four and five star guys doing four and five star things all day long will do that. This game reminded me a lot of the Georgia game for the same reasons. It really felt like nearly every player deserved MVP for how solid they all played throughout the game. Montana St looked like a well coached and disciplined team that ran into another well coached and disciplined team with much more fire power. No shame in that. I think this may be the beginning of a special season.
  3. There should be a base metric for opponent win percentage involved. If it is just based on rankings then the SEC beating it’s own over ranked teams will always inflate it’s own rankings. Official rankings should also have nothing to do with pre or early season rankings for the same reasons. If your entire conference is all preseason ranked them somebody will always be beating a ranked team. By seasons end those early season ranked wins won’t mean much if those loosing teams fade throughout the season.
  4. This match up reminds me of how I feel when SUC or fuskies are in a bowl game. I’m not actually rooting for them to win I just don’t want them to blow it for the conference.
  5. Not looking good for the Colorado Clicks.
  6. Just went out and got a yellow shirt, the only color I didn’t have. It reminded me of back to school shopping as a kid and my biggest priority was seeing what the new Duck shirts looked like that year. My favorite was the Duck flying a bomber with Kamikaze Kids on the side. Now that I think about it, I probably haven’t grown up much since then!
  7. What the %#£¥ was Lupoi thinking! There it’s already begun!
  8. Thanks Drake. Go Ducks!
  9. I’ve heard that this game is a stripe out but I don’t know which section is which color. Can any Duck buddies out their pass along this crucial information?
  10. Great topic Gat. I think Neb’s problem is that the more national college football has become the less regional relevance it’s become. Elite recruits have so many more options these days than just the conference super powers of yesterday year. I think this is also the key issue for many other former top ten fixtures like SUC, LSU and the Florida schools. Before it’s resent resurgence, Texas also watched most of it’s in state players heading elsewhere I’d expect this trend to continue and the Cornhuskers will have to look back at their faded glory like Minnesota, Harvard and Yale.
  11. Nice article. I’m not really too hung up on a final score but over all I just want to see a confident team decisively control the game. Man. I am so ready for some football. Go Ducks!
  12. Wow! Love the old school color combo with a modern helmet design. Hope we wear them again for SUC's beat down.
  13. My interest priorities. The line up reveal probably like everyone else. OL play. Solid and effective is my goal. No news is good news. The RB pecking order. There are at least 5 maybe 6 legit options How does QB 2 look? Is it like Joey Harrington/ AJ Feeley or Bo Nix and let's not go there. I'm interested in how the OL backups look. Last years starters to backup gap seemed alarming. I'm hoping the D pulls it all together this year. I don't want to see any concerns at any level.
  14. This sounds like an improvement but for the best results he might want to try being the first coach to coach from home in bed asleep.
  15. It's 2025 and we're talking about nuclear reactors on the moon, colonizing Mars and needing ten different service providers to just follow your dang football team.
  16. Having two former Ducks ripping it up for a Florida team can't hurt southern recruiting.
  17. If they go down to Georgia Southern and former coach Clay Helton, Christmas will have come early this year.
  18. Hope his QB senses are on high alert for that blind side blitz.
  19. I just want to say that Jon's use of legal stats is another thing that sets this forum apart from the rest. Bravo!
  20. I wonder if we see some two back sets with receiving options with so many monster backs on the team. Throw in some trickeration plays with Luke Moga at QB or lined up who knows where along with some Sadiq creativity and the offense could achieve a whole new level. I'm calling a TD pass against PSU from Moga to Sadiq off a reverse (with Moga lined up as a receiver) right now.
  21. Until the game is played I think people will look at PSU's higher floor as more trust worthy than OBD's higher ceiling. Honestly I can't blame them. OBD just may have the best O line, QB, RB and TE in the conference with an upper level receiving core with a possible super star among them. The D also looks potentially top notch at every position group. Until they show out on the field, it's just speculation. With PSU you know your getting a solid 8-9 level team (out of 10) . With OBD, I think your looking at a potential 8-9.5 team. So I think OBD wins a battle of A games and PSU wins a battle of B games.
  22. On paper, OBD may be better across the board at nearly every position group. Of course on paper is where SUC fans start their delusion cycle every year so I'd like to see some results before I get too hyped. Still Lanning's trajectory has been trending straight up since day one so I'm leaning towards special year. I think the run game is potentially tops in BIG. That could give the passing game some time to sort itself out. I'm much more confident in both starters and backups for this year's O line.
  23. Seems about right. Easily a top ten preseason roster with a lot of unproven players filling in the spots. I think this should make for a fun season as the victories should feel more earned and less simply expected. A couple learning curve losses wouldn't be the end of the world if they get it figured out by the playoffs. Being ready out of the gate and going undefeated is also a distinct possibility. Can't wait for the show to get started!
  24. My picks tOSU is an interesting rivalry. 0-3 in bowl games, playoffs and championships but 2-0 in the regular season. Michigan. I love this one. Two double digit road wins in the last twenty years gives OBD some instant cred in this one. Penn St. Just one BIG championship game victory and OBD is already looking down on the BIG's best of the rest. Wisconsin. I love the Rose Bowl history here. Two scrappy wins against a scrappy foe. Last year's road struggle shouldn't have been a surprise according to the history. Iowa. Maybe the most concerned team about OBD's BIG arrival. The go to pick for number four in the conference now looks like number five at best. They need to come up with some upsets and create a rivalry or they may simply slide into mid tier irrelevance. Slotting in our old Pac rivalries, I'd put fuskies at 1.5, SUC at 3.5 and UCLA at yawn.
