Folks, you want to read some angry, disappointed, and rudderless fan posts...head over to angrybeavs.com. Those folks are absolutely lost right now, some are questioning if they will even be able field a roster for a bowl game. Not sure if there is anyone that DL would want to poach but my guess would be a lot of portal action in a bit! It's actually enough to make you ALMOST feel bad for them.

I am not pulling for either team but what I am pulling for is an UGLY game...one of those games where the committee is not thinking, wow these teams are both really good...can we get them both in. Ugly, mistake filled, penalties....that's my hope.

I wandered over to uwdawgpound.com to see how things were going for the buttsniffers after Oregon completely destroyed a team that had given them fits. I tell you what, there are some fans there who choose to live in a world devoid of logic and rationale thinking. I can't tell if they are scared to face Oregon again or just full of bloated arrogance. One fan went so far as to say that if both UW and Oregon finish with one less to each other, that UW had a better look against common opponents....REALLY?? did they watch the same ASU games, or the same OSU games? There is so much "Oregon stinks/sucks/is overrated" that I couldn't help but laugh. One guy trying to be the voice of reason had to start his post with "I'm not a doom sayer, but this Oregon team is really good". Venture over at your own risk. It does demonstrate that there is a segment of the population in severe need of medication!

Kay, I am having WAY to much fun with this but let's contrast what DL did with how our previous coaches would have handled it: MC: JPJ, tie em again...the same way JPJ: Coach, it isn't working MC: It will, IF you do it with more PHYSICALITY!! That is all we need!! WT: Shoelaces? Dang, don't need no flippin shoelaces in Florida. JPJ: Coach? WT: Uhhh, oh yeah...Do Something. MH: Mmmmkay....well, this is a pickle. JPJ: Coach, I just need to get my shoes tied. MH: Hmmm....what would Chip do?

DL: "Well, here's the problem. Stop making the bunny ears. JPJ: "But coach, that's all I know. DL: "Today is a new day. Rooted in substance. Let me teach you. "

I'll do it for 500k a year....I consider myself an incredible shoe-tier...and I'd be a bargain.

The biggest thing is that Caleb would have to learn how to be an actual QB instead of running around heaving throws all over the field. He's never really had an offensive line where he could sit back in a pocket and work through progressions. His game has more become about improvisation over true QB play, simply out of self preservation! The unfortunate thing is that his style of play doesn't have longevity in the NFL. RGIII comes to mind, even Kyler Murray who just came back from injury. Cam Newton was a lot bigger than Caleb and even he broke down. Mahomes is a scrambler but he's also smart and doesn't take a lot of shots. Honestly, watching Bo vs Caleb, Bo is the more NFL ready QB.

My favorite memory...2023. When a new look, new attitude Ducks team showed the Beavers why they are in the Pac-2.

So, section 124, row 6 is where I shall be for the Pac-12 Championship. I bought my ticket knowing that Ducks still had some business to take care of. After watching a complete demolition of ASU, I am NOT seeing a way for the Beavs to win on Friday unless Mari-Noooo starts calling plays on offense. Seriously, I am that confident in what I have seen out of this team. There was NO WAY I was missing out on the final Pac-12 Championship game with the Ducks putting the shock collar on the poochies. Anyone else going?

Jumping ahead maybe a bit much, but I for one would really like to see a rematch of Oregon - Georgia. This team looks completely different than the one that got waxed last year.

The Pac-2... seriously?! The NCAA can't take this as a legitimate P5 conference and give the winner an automatic playoff bid for the expanded playoff. They wouldn't do that....right??

I completely agree with this statement. DL and staff see TT day in and day out at practice and I am 100% certain that they have already decided if TT is THE GUY for next year or not. If they've decided he isn't, they have already target locked on those QB's already in the portal and who may be entering. I kinda get the feeling that DL is/would be a good chess player. 5-7 moves ahead in his thinking and ready to pivot to secondary and tertiary options if the first one doesn't pan out.

There is something VERY different about this Duck team. No, I'm not trying to be Captain Obvious. I am referring to the FEEL this team has. Past Duck teams have had significant success and yet there was always that fear that they would plant their heads up the proverbial nether region and lose a game that they had no business losing. And it nearly ALWAYS happened. Look no further than the Fishduck article yesterday, "Will ASU Destroy Oregon's Playoff Hopes AGAIN?" Yep, they lost to Washington in a game they should have won. But they have not allowed inferior teams to hang around to the end of the game. The mentality of this team is one of toughness and focus. In the past, I was waiting anxiously, knowing that some game was coming that the Ducks had NO REASON to drop but they would. ASU would have been one of those games. Maybe even Cal. There is a resiliency about this team that has considerably eased my anxiety of past teams. It seemed to me that there used to be a mindset of "we HOPE our athletes can be superior to yours when it matters" in past teams. This team seems to have a really bad dog in them that says "you're athletes don't matter because we will beat you down". Look no further than Patrick Herbert's second touchdown where he was escorted by two offensive linemen who were LOOKING to crush someone. Or Bucky Irving flushing tacklers like a dead goldfish. Gary Bryant making a video game type of run after his catch. There were glimpses of that from previous players. I recall Thomas Tyner absolutely trucking a tackler, or Colt Lyerla dragging tacklers down the field. But I have NEVER seen an entire squad play that way. Commentators last night described Bo Nix as a surgeon as he dismantled the ASU defense. If Nix is the surgeon, the rest of the team is the Anesthesiologist who tells you to count backward from 100 after they give you the meds and you get to 98 and are done. You blink and it's over. That was the game yesterday, and the Colorado game, and Utah game, and the Cal game. THIS is the feeling of success, not luck. I like it.

Florida State is not gonna get any "eye test" votes today! Down 14-0 to University of North Alabama....you know, that amazing football powerhouse. Just heard that Jordan Travis, FSU QB, suffered a very nasty leg injury and was carted off the field. FSU will drop for sure.
