  1. We need to see more of Bucky and Jordan James...no way Liberty has the defense to keep up with them the whole game. I trust the game plan, but already I see the ducks have more speed...work that sideline to sideline. Match-ups in space.
  2. Throw wasn't "perfect" but it did hit him in the hands...
  3. Are we seeing an evolution of Dan Lanning as a coach? Playing some field position instead of going for it at midfield? Not happy with how they are playing on offense but this is an interesting development in the coaching.
  4. Oh man...that was a gift right there if Oregon could have gotten to it. Ducks played decent defense on that drive...
  5. Well, Liberty looking better and more explosive for the first drives for each team.
  6. This is fantastic insight! Thanks for digging it up. I wonder how much of that turnover are OC's realizing that they don't want to be connected with such a trainwreck. There are Miami fans who are clamouring for Dawson to be gone. These fans are the ones who still believe MC can turn things around. You don't burn through coordinators unless: A. You are Nick Saban/Kirby Smart and they keep getting hired away. B. You are a horrible coach to work with and the coordinators would rather bail. You can eliminate option A immediately for MC.
  7. I know, I know, it's been two years and clearly the Ducks have come out on top of that whole situation; NOT EVEN CLOSE. There is a part of me that just can't stop watching the drama down in the south of Florida. I happened to watch a portion of his press conference and then read the transcript. I was struck by two things. 1. I think Mario has a wheel that he spins prior to the press conference to determine his talking points. Prior to facing the media, he gives it a spin and sees what he needs to reference..."hmmm, physicality? Always! Focus? Nope used that one last week. Let's go with "Discipline" this week. Maybe I'll sprinkle in some toughness talk and mention that coaches need to do better and that should about cover it". This guys press conferences all have the same feel. It's a canned, non-feeling response devoid of personal accountability. I know that "coach speak" is part of all press conferences but there has to be passion infused into those pressers or it just comes off as blaming the players. 2. I think press conferences for him would be the same no matter what level he was coaching at. *Press conference for the 4th grade Pop Warner championship* "Mr. Cristobal, what do you think you could have done differently?" Mario: "Well, I thought we practiced well this week. It comes down to physicality, we let them push us around. We need to be more physical. Our guard has a nose-picking problem and was slow off the ball. Our center had to go potty during the game and it really affected the next several possessions. We just can't have that. We need to prepare better. I thought the defense played pretty well, our CB got distracted by a bee on the long pass play and that hurt us." "We really worked on focus this week in practice and it needs to show up on the field. After halftime, we made some adjustments but the players didn't get enough orange slices and they came out lethargic. That's not how we coach em. It really hurt when the Mike got an owie. His mom didn't have all the bandaids she needed and that pretty much took him out of the game. It's inexcusable for any player to be more interested in Pokemon than football but that was what we were up against today. Next year will be different."
  8. Yeah, that still puzzles me. He must have one heck of a speihl that he gives those kids. It obviously can't involve a scoreboard. I wonder how many of those recruits stay with Miami. Recruiting class rankings don't win games and slogging through 7 win seasons may not be what they want.
  9. Jim Leavitt taking a shot at Cristobal. Not sure if you saw how "Stache Feld" responded to that tweet but it's interesting:
  10. Yikes. Mizzou and tOSU are putting on an absolute groaner of a game....3-0 in the 3rd quarter. tOSU is down to a true freshman QB after Kyle McCord transferred and his backup got hurt early on. I think there have been more punts than first downs. There is a fine line between "defensive struggle" and "offensive ineptitude".
  11. Oh my! I traveled down the rabbit hole of wondering how Miami Fans were taking the bowl game loss to Rutgers. Probably as well as you can imagine. But some of the fan posts are absolute gold. One post said "we used to be weak and lose...now we have more strength and lose" Another said "Mario just grunts at what the OC puts in front of him and probably has no idea what's going on" My favorite so far is this nugget (and I can't do it justice because it was actually a gif of the kid running into the wall): These poor fans realize they were duped....and are now saying, "let's just celebrate recruiting victories because it ain't happening on the field"
  12. Yeah, I was thinking about that...it's 18 hours from where I live. Just wondering if I want to do it.
  13. I knew that the opening prices were gonna be high for the matchup. Now, here we are 5 days away and prices have DROPPED!! Check out these prices on SeatGeek: Now to figure out how to get to Glendale cheap!!
  14. Joel Klatt had a great video on this as well. It was wrapped up in his Oregon / Liberty analysis, but he has HIGH praise for Oregon.
  15. I would be happy if they flipped the USC waterboy! "Was always my dream to be the waterboy at Oregon...that river running through town, all that rain...it's a waterboy's wish!"
  16. Can't think of a defensive player who would want to be associated with that defense!!
  17. I don't know if it has so much worn off as that Tulane took a brillo pad, pressure washer, hydrochloric acid, and paint stripper to it....and it's not recovered.
  18. Riley is looking for a QB in the transfer portal. That tells me he isn't ready or sold on Malachi being his next starter. Nelson may be thinking that he SHOULD be the starter and isn't willing to sit behind someone. Interesting quote from him about this exact situation: "About a year ago, Nelson spoke to The Athletic and said the following about Williams: “There’s only a few guys I would be OK sitting behind, and the best quarterback in the country is definitely one of them.” -theathleticcom Just shows the difference between someone who plays and realizes they need development (Dante Moore).
