Assuming we both win tomorrow and given the media's love of creating controversy to spark interest, (Lanning's comments) it might even be higher. In fact, I think it will be.

Oregon 56-20 2 TO's 4 sacks 375 yards East Bay Quack stole my thunder - I had it on good authority from Zeus (aka Jupiter) Oregon was gonna stop the bleeding at 52. I added 4 to be different.

Although... one might make the observation that Hawaii is a team that also likes the deep pass and so their defense at practice has probably seen it more often than some other schools. Perkins is right I think; it will come down to more talent, more speed on the O side of the field.

SB Nation's Pac 12 Rankings and Projections After Week 2
Mic replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't quite understand Utah dropping from 1 to 4 because they won a real tough road game against Baylor and they've been playing without their starting QB. Could any of the other teams in the top 5 be where they are if their starting QB hadn't played a game yet? Does Oregon beat TT without Bo Nix? Or is UW 2-0 without Penix? Other than that, the analytics look ok. Colorado is the one that jumps out at you. Beating TCU will do that. -

I think we are on the opposite end of the pole on this one, lol. But whatever they're wearing; GO DUCKS! -
LOOK: Ducks Unveil Uniform Combination vs. Hawaii

Looks very Old School, to me. Not very exciting but there's always something about honoring tradition. Gotta say I'm glad it's a Pac-12 game, tho, and not the big headliner the following week on ABC. That'll be a time for the Ducks to unveil another very special uni. -
Dittos. If NIL is what it takes to land a particular player that player had better be a real gem because the player sounds like a mercenary-for-hire instead of a player like a Tez Johnson or Justin Herbert who just want to be a Duck. There's a reason why the occasional walk-on becomes an Oregon 'great' and it's not because of his perceived talent by scouts. A lot of it is heart and his desire to perform for his team. It's another reason why I hate all the NIL stuff - inevitable as it may be. Walk-ons forever.

I wholeheartedly agree with Darren: bombs away tomorrow. Not only do the Ducks have Troy Franklin but (not to belabor the point) they have another well-seasoned WR, smaller but swift, in Tez Johnson. If Hawaii tries to double-team Franklin the Ducks should be sending Johnson deep on the other side of the field. Nix will find one or the other and nothing stretches a field like wide-open WR's on both sides of the field. Go Ducks!

Tough Decisions for Wilner and Canzano...and Us?
Mic replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't suppose either one are near retirement, are they? What a way to have your career upset - by the programs you write about taking their ball elsewhere. Interesting question. -
Maybe he was influenced by the big Texas win over Alabama? And maybe he'll reconsider once again after Oregon's big win over Colorado on the 23rd. I wouldn't give up hope just yet but Oregon has a lot of top-notch recruits considering O. Can't get the all.

Ducks Football: 4 Things to Watch for Against Hawaii
Mic replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
In regard to item #4 in the lead article (1st listed) I don't think Oregon is going to have any problem focusing on Hawaii this week. Maybe IF they had dominated TT and won that game easily, they get complacent and start looking ahead. But with all those penalties (item 1) and the very near loss avoided only by a herculean effort in the 4th Qtr. - that ought to have scared the Ducks into a real sense of urgency - even against Hawaii. I'd be shocked to see Oregon not supremely focused on the Rainbow Warriors and I expect an outcome somewhere in-between what happened to PSU and the TT game. I'm gonna guess something like 48-20 Oregon, tho I'm still chewing on that. -
In retrospect or 'hind sight' I wasn't thinking clearly. Justin is making way too much $ to ever be enticed to accept the role as D.C. again. Unless he's let go as the HC from CAL some day. Even then, probably not. Maybe I should think about other ways to waste Phil's money.

Not me, OSU hasn't got the money to throw around like Oregon and that makes what they've been able to accomplish these past few years even more remarkable. Not that I'm becoming a Beaver - 'cause I'm sure not. But you do have to admire how they've been running things in Corvallis. Maybe the winner of the Civil War this year, beside bragging rights, might get a raise, even?

One I'd like to see (hear) do it again is Dan Fouts. Not only does Dan know the game better than most, he knows how to announce or analyze it as good as anyone. Bring him in for the Colorado game, he probably played against the Neon man.

So what do we know about Tez Johnson, other than the fact that he is the adoptive brother of our QB: Bo Nix? Or that he wears #15, is a WR and caught a pass at a crucial point in the TT game - for a TD? Well, to be honest, that was about the limit of my knowledge until recently. Since the game Saturday I've learned a lot more about this talented and speedy WR that Oregon was very smart to welcome in from the Transfer Portal Like, for instance, by being on the Ducks roster he instantly vaulted to the top of the Reciever Stats based on his body of work at his former school, Troy University, a Div I school that plays in the Sun Belt Conference. Yeah, a Div I team. Rather than list all his accomplishments to date one need only peruse pages 16 & 17 of the Ducks Ducks Game Notes for the upcoming game with Hawaii. to get a sample You may be as surprised as I was. This young man's a baller! Here's just a glimpse: Tez tops the Duck charts at games with 10+ receptions and is near the top in total Receiving TD's. Check out his TD's by yardage. It'll be scaring the bee-jeezes out of our opponents. Don't just say "yeah, but that was Troy". Remember how he handled himself against TT Saturday evening. And the young man has wanted to be a Duck since he was 8 years old. Welcome Tez Johnson! We're glad you're finally home.

All of us are, desperately. Add to the softness at the edges (and almost hand-in-hand) is stoping a really good, mobile QB from running of the likes O is going to see from Colorado. And USC. And a host of others I can think of in this fantastic conference right now. That was the most caring defect I saw, from what little I did get to see.

It gives me pleasure to think I may be wrong and that Dan Lanning IS the one in charge of the defense, if what Charles says is right. Because I haven't got much faith in Tosh Lupoi. Of course, I'd be happy to be wrong about my feelings for Tosh as well if he turns out to be better at his job than I think. And after all - what do I really know?

So far, the comments have been pretty similar.

Since all I've actually seen of the TT game were replays of the highlights on YouTube, I was wondering how you guys thought Mark Helfrich did as the "Color Commentator" on Fox's broadcast?

Dan Lanning is SERIOUS About Michigan State?
Mic replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If they keep winning the TV deals alone will float this rising boat. If they don't keep winning, they may have to mortgage the city of Denver. -
Lake in the Cascades? Loos like a cirque lake (waterfall in, water fall out). I've been to a couple. Nice way to spend a lovely Fall day.

And as far as Deion goes, coaching at Colorado, there's only one way that program can go after its last few seasons, and that's up. There is probably almost NO pressure on Deion to do anything but make his team competitive. But that's today. Wait until another season comes along and everyone is expecting him to continue the "miracle" at Colorado. Assuming he stays put after his son graduates.
