  1. Would be fun to see fans sitting on the 50 yard line wearing both, half and half!
  2. Absolutely. We all remember last year's game with UW and what happened then.
  3. I don't think so Charles. Ty Thompson came into Oregon soooo highly rated - the highest in Oregon history. Everyone was high on this young man. If anything, maybe a bit too high and maybe there was too much pressure. But he's had several years to gel and get better. He's getting outstanding coaching. He's playing behind some really good QB's and he's been given every opportunity at Oregon to succeed. At some point he has to show the coaches he's ready and can get the job done. Last year, when Oregon really needed him in the Washington game he wasn't ready. That game was in Autzen, the crowd was there behind him the team was there behind him. It was such a disappointment that he just couldn't step up and help his team to win that crucial game. \\ We all want him to succeed. Oregon has a lot of time and effort invested in him. I'll give him this: he's been loyal and remained a Duck, disdaining the Transfer Portal. For that I'll give him the benefit of the doubt just a little longer. But sincerely, the Novasad kid is looking like he might be able to steal the starting role away from Ty if Ty doesn't take the bull by the horns and ride it to the whistle. Go Ducks!
  4. I think they should make ND join OSU & WSU in the Pac 2-1/2.
  5. Either my Ad blocker or a pay-window wouldn't enable me to see it. Thanks for the response. This means no trip to town necessary to watch the game. Hooray!
  6. I have this sneaking little hunch that Coach Prime was 'priming' (pun intended) Travis Hunter for Heisman consideration. A 2-way star. The stuff of Heisman's from the past. I hope it wasn't done for Coach Prime's ego. It could have been a season-ending injury or worse, a career-ending one. Thank Good Gosh it wasn't.
  7. If you don't (have huge concerns) I won't - your football savvy is much better than mine! I agree, the blocking has been inconsistent, good against PSU & Ha but not so much against TT. Can't wait to see how they do against the Buffs. A few breakaways by Bucky and/or Noah and Bo will be feasting with Tez & Troy or Ferguson & Casey. But O needs both games clicking to break this one open.
  8. Not picking this one because of matchup uncertainties (on my part) though losing Travis Hunter is a big blow to the Buffs. I think Oregon will win going away. Like you, any win will be a good one unless they get a big lead and surrender most of it. Don't expect that. GO DUCKS!
  9. "Cause we're special?
  10. I am definitely surprised by CU's drop. I am also puzzled, but lots happier, by the Duck's rise to 10 (from 13). Beating Hawaii at home didn't seem to me to have that much push. Beating CSU in double-overtime at home cost Colorado and I'm wondering: is this because the game was so close, or because of the loss of Travis Hunter, or both? I'm thinking probably both. But I should also say I think Colorado should never have been in the top 20 in the first place. That had to be (at least partly) wishful thinking. Alabama behind the Ducks? Yes, that another surprise. A pleasant one, but still a surprise.
  11. True. See my post above to Jon.
  12. Not entirely certain how it all went down but probably Norvell 1st. Bad decision: talk about giving ammunition to the enemy. Norvell gave Sanders an armored tank. The rest of the CFB better take note: there isn't a microphone or camera in the CFB media conglomerate not pointed at Coach Sanders whenever he opens his mouth. I'd love to see this week be an exception but it's only Monday. Maybe the unfortunate injury to Hunter will cool things down a bit.
  13. Frankly, I think it's a bit weird. I like the "idea" of it, and the uses it will be applied for, but the Duck head impaled on it half-way down and the shoe perched atop the 'scepter'? Gads, I hope they can come up with something better next year. Good Idea - Bad Design. Imo.
  14. Oh, good. More motivation for Coach Prime. 64th? No, that's a bit too low. They did beat TCU on the road.
  15. I'm seeing anywhere from that to -23.5. Figure -3 for home field (a general given) and it's not too much out of line. But I'm sitting this prediction round out. Emotions on both sides are gonna be thru the roof.
  16. Both "good" penalties in appropriate situations, you're both right: for better field position to kick a fg or a hunt. But what about taking the 10 yards and a 1st down rather than let an opponent's WR run free to the end zone?
  17. What I'd like to know is how he timed that so well? Was there a play clock running down and he knew the snap had to happen then, risking the oof-sides penalty which would have been offset with the delay of game or did he just get supremely lucky?
  18. If you've seen any of my posts recently you know how seriously I think penalties are for any team, but specifically Oregon. That they've struggled with them against teams like Texas Tech have been evident to everyone. And penalties in the upcoming game against Colorado seriously need to be avoided. That said, there is (ironically) one "good" penalty (relatively speaking) that Oregon might (but hopefully not) need to employ. I'm speaking of the Pass Interference penalty. College football is behind the 8-ball on this one, imo, from the NFL. In the CFB, the penalty when committed by the defense results in 10-yards with an automatic 1st down. Punitive, but not really if you consider the alternative: a wide open receiver streaking for the end zone OR a receiver already in the end zone. Imo, CFB needs to amend this to a somewhat stricter penalty. Not as strict as the NFL - but stricter than just 10 yards & a 1st down. Colorado's best chance, (imo) of besting Oregon is to unleash Sheduer Sanders and his arm downfield with long bombs. Oregon has shown a bit of weakness against this type of attack, esp from a mobile QB who threatens with his feet as well. TT exploited this tactic and took Oregon to the mat. Sheduer is more than capable of this and I believe it's their best chance to score against Oregon. He's at least as good a passer than Shough and probably a better runner. I hate any penalty but sometimes this one penalty can work for you in a busted coverage or a beaten defender. I hope Oregon doesn't need to employ it but I'll certainly admit - there can be a time when it's 'necessary'. I hope it's the Buffalos needing it and not the Ducks!
  19. Coach Lanning will stress the "opportunity" presented to play Colorado, a team all of America seems to be following. Coach Sanders will find some way to make it "us against the world" but specifically "us against Oregon this week" motivating his team. Motivation can take a talented team a long ways - but only so far. If Oregon plays up to its potential, can avoid getting caught up in all the hype, control their intensity and stop committing penalties I really don't see Colorado winning this game. I think it would take a real sub-par performance and a series of errors & mistakes for Oregon to lose this one. That said, I'm not going to join in Charles' score pick this weekend. Because I really don't have a good handle on how these two teams match up. I will just sit back and enjoy the game - hoping the Ducks put forth their best effort this season. That should be more than enough.
  20. Agreed. It would mean a little more if the Buffs were at full-strength when O plays them. Otherwise, the Buffs have an "yeah.. but..." for the loss, should they lose - which I'm thinking they will. And, I hope the young man's career isn't jeopardized because of the un-necessary injury.
  21. That was Lahina. We spent the better part of a day there and I found a nice little cigar shop to restock my little supply while visiting the island. But any rebuild will, I regret, lack the charm of 'old Hawaii' which is quickly disappearing.
  22. "Egregious" as in blatant or damaging? I didn't think it was that damaging either but then I saw it from my couch and not from the field right in front of the young man. Regardless, forget ever getting the truth of it out of Coach Sanders. He'll spin this to his advantage, motivation-wise, if he can. It's never to be condoned. It's ever to be understood when you build a team on Hype and foster resentment between the players and their coaches. For that I mostly blame Deion.
  23. This snippet from the DuckWire article in the Pre-game thread earlier.: "My early lean is toward Oregon in a comfortable victory." It goes on to cite an early -17.5 points for Oregon. The article based this on several things, not the least of which was the possible loss of Travis Hunter. Remember, we just have it on the word of the Master Manipulator himself (Deion) that this is so. The shot Travis took didn't look like a shot to sit him for 2 weeks but even it it was, there are other compelling reasons the Buffs may struggle. Even if the odds go to -21 I hope the Ducks come out of the tunnel thinking it's even-steven or worse. I hope they bring a controlled intensity and maintain it for 4 full quarter regardless of the score. I hope Oregon wins by 3+ touchdowns or higher. I probably won't make any prediction though. I don't have the best feeling for this game given just the 6 game comparison so far. GO DUCKS.!
  24. At times it was good, at times it wasn't. It doesn't seem to be consistently either which, in itself, is a concern, yes. But, they're 3-0 and next week will give us another look at how things are developing. If they can play penalty-free I think they will have some success against the Buffalos and make Deion's day a long one instead. Need to get Bucky un-tracked, that's for sure.
