Then the AD needs to do what (if anything) he can to stop these late-game starts. More than anything almost I blame the late games on ticket drop-offs. I get this from season-ticket holders that I know personally who love the Ducks (enuf to be season ticket holders) who will not drive down from Portland and back when games end at 11:00 pm! It's nuts.
-
Actually, the article just above JacksPlaid could have been worse for MC. No one's mentioned as calling for his head. Maybe it's because they gave him such a lengthy and expensive contract.
-
The coach he just beat? lol

There's one up-side to 4 pm. By then the biggest games back east are mostly over leaving room for Oregon to be seen by fans on the east coast. I'd prefer 12:30 too but how many people watched Oregon at all when Georgia was playing Tennessee?
-
No, I don't think so, not yet. Maybe after we beat UW, Utah and OSU. Tenn lost a very tough one in Athens by a closer margin than our blowout. I expected the polls to land just about exactly where they did including TCU's leap-frog over Tenn. I'm happy we're still ranked above USC.

Good! The all yellow uniforms are my favorite - with the chrome helmets! Besides, they offer Bo a great contrast when looking for a receiver.

No one ever accused the media programers of being smart - only greedy.

Either that or you have access to DUCatti's motorcycle/tardis machine!

If There Was EVER a Year to Put 70 Points on the Huskies...
Mic replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Not to mention the fact that Coach Lanning probably wouldn't allow it. Scoring in the 40's again, if they can, would be nice. But, seriously, I expect UW to put up a pretty good fight of it and they'll be catching Oregon without one of our better DB's for at least the 1st Half. Any word on Chase Cota? -

No, not too mean, but not very realistic! LOL I can hear Joey Harrington now (who wanted Oregon to put 77 on Colorado) cheering from the sidelines for you as we write. GO OREGON! -
Seriously, who would have thought Oregon would be sitting at #6 after what happened to them in Atlanta back in September? Or that 3 Pac-12 teams would be in the Top 10 together?

1 Georgia (61 1st-place votes) 2 Ohio State 3 Michigan (2) 4 TCU 5 Tennessee 6 Oregon 7 USC 8 LSU 9 Ole Miss 10 UCLA 11 Alabama 12 Clemson

Not only out coached the UCLA staff, but Bo was the better QB that day - by a good margin. And if healthy, he'll be the best QB going forward from here on out till the Championship game in Las Vegas - should the Ducks make it that far.
-
I would think, then, that UTAH got the most attention.
-
After last night's outcomes Oregon does have an outside chance if they win out to the end. Clemson's loss as well as Alabama's really helped the Ducks. Tennessee's loss - not so much, yet. Hated to have to root for ND but it was 'necessary'. Same for USC. Oregon needs to face an 11-1 USC (or UCLA) in Las Vegas. The preference for the Playoff committee would be a win over USC. Sans the Beavs, Utah will be THE game for Oregon left on the schedule. I don't think UW will be able to stop Oregon. Not as long as Bo's healthy.
-
My gosh. I just noticed Oregon has only played in 4 home games so far this season. Everyone else has played 5 except for Washington and UCLA which has played in 6! Yeah, Oregon has played well on the road! Their only loss was the 1st one to the defending Nat. Champs. Good point Chas.
-
Going forward, yes, but two of the hardest are in Autzen. The toughest (imo) will be the trip to Corvallis because the Beans are always tough even when they're having a difficult year. Oregon will need to be healthy and at full-strength. No sit-outs for targeting and such. And everyone will get to see how good (or not) the Beaver defense really is.
-
Certainly (to your 1st point) and Yes! to your second point. This great O-line that O has now is due in large part to MC & Steve Greatwood. And as to your last point: oh yeah, they are! This is the kind of offense Chip Kelly introduced to the collegiate world that these young men want to play in. Big Time. That's why it's appearing all over the country from Coastal Carolina to UCLA and every conference in between.

A Great Win ... But What's Going on With Ty Thompson?
Mic replied to Mic's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
No, of course Ty isn't near Bo in technique or ability, yet. He may never be, but it's too soon to say that for sure because he's younger and a heck of a lot less experienced. I went back and looked over the game film again after Ty came in and there was a noticeable drop-off in line protection and such and we can see right away that Ty hasn't the elusiveness that Bo has, nor probably the ability to make the reads of the defense like Bo does, nor so quickly. But that isn't the only issue with him that I see. The kid just looks - overwhelmed out there. That's the best way, imo, to describe what I see when he enters the game. I'll close out any more comments by saying I really want to see this young man succeed as a QB at Oregon. I'm not hoping for him to transfer or sit on the pine the rest of his collegiate eligibility. I'm just scared as all get-out for the team should Bo Nix get hurt and we need Ty to step in. -
I don't think Miami's program IS a pile of crap. There's no reason why it should be - the school is located right smack dab in the middle of one the best (if not THE best) recruiting grounds in the entire nation. And Miami has money, lots of it. And a long, prestigious tradition of winning. No, if Lanning had gone down there instead and taken this staff with him they wouldn't be seeing the dismal results fans are seeing now from Miami.
-
With their remaining schedule it's very possible Miami won't become bowl eligible this year, again. They have to win two of their last three and unless some lightening strikes occur it isn't looking very likely they will. That isn't going to go down well.
-
49-3? Oh, my Lord... I'd say Mario might be entering 'serious trouble' territory here. I don't think many expected Miami to win the game but absolutely NO One expected a blowout like that on Miami's home field. What was the betting line, anyone know?

Forget About Notre Dame Joining the B1G...
Mic replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think all teams, Navy and others included, but especially ND should be in some conference or another to be considered for CFB Playoffs because otherwise they're just bringing wins to the table and not a championship of anything. How is that fair to teams that have to wade thru thought conferences AND win their Conference Tourney? It isn't, imo. ND has had their cake and been eating it far too long already. Time to stop. -
The WINNER of the OBD Prediction Contest vs. Colorado is...

Dunno. I did make some comments a week or two back but I'm sure a lot of fans know what a Tardis machine is! -

I'm not ready to give up on him yet either, but I really am concerned 'cause he doesn't bring any spark what-so-ever into the game when he makes his appearances. that's why I'd like to see Butterfield get his shot - to see if it's the same or different.
