  1. Exactly. And I too 'love' our coaches. Or that is, most of them. There's one I don't so much ... and I think most of us know which one, though we'll just have to watch how things play out the rest of the way.
  2. Yes, but the Beavers gave him more grief than O could. The Beavers were one good drive away from winning it - in Washington!
  3. Well, that happens, yes. But to all but a few it still means a trip somewhere, a TV appearance and an audience of scouts. It isn't like it once was, that's true. We can thank the Playoff for that one.
  4. What an interesting mess we have at work here. And yes, Oregon has, by far, the hardest close-out (conference-wise) of all. USC will have to end the season against a very mercurial ND. Up one week, down another.
  5. Not entirely. There are still some nice Bowl games to contend for and those seem to mean a lot to the players when they get to play in them. And their families. I love that Oregon is still ranked above UW! hee-hee.
  6. Wow! UW went up 9 (!) positions while O went down 6. But, O is still ranked above UW. LOL! You just know that's gotta frost 'em!
  7. I think they're generally happy with him now. Well ...maybe not this morning ... but generally. UCLA hadn't been relevant or competitive for a while, At least they're still in the picture, sort of. And they did beat Washington, something we were unable to do.
  8. Maybe a more important question is whether or not Michael Penix Jr. will be around next season when the Ducks meet them in Seattle. MPJ is a Junior.
  9. I wonder how they fell about our Defense? (I mean, really feel, not what you hear them say in front of a camera).
  10. Bo is the only one who knows the answer to the question: "will he be back." We'd all welcome him, of course, but he has to do what's best for him and his family. I highly doubt the decision has been made yet and I certainly hope not because he has at least 3 more football games to think about first.
  11. I'm afraid I have to agree with you on this. Almost everyone of us in the stands reacted the same way when that happened. We ALL saw that coming and UW was ready and waiting (or at least the LB) in perfect position to stop it. Way too predictable. If we, the fans can see it coming you know the defense of a well-coached collegiate team sure can. Kalen DeBoar 1, Dan Lanning 0. And so begins the new era of O-UW rivalry.
  12. Not certain I agree with this. UW leads the nation in passing, O's weakness. USC isn't UW in that category. And I believe Lanning's staff will be prepared for USC, should they get that far*. * And there's the rub: Utah and OSU on the road.
  13. #71 is Aumavae-Laulu, 6'6", 320. He's been a pretty good player all season for O. Maybe their D-lineman on that side is a real stud. But Oregon had almost no pass rush on D, or not at least enough to disrupt Penix. That's on the coaching scheme, imo. Let's ask this of Tosh Lupoi.
  14. Where we were sitting these guys were right in front of us. (we were 4 rows up from the field). We even got to have a few words in chat with Nick before the game - he's a very gracious individual and likes the fans. It was great to see Rich Brooks & Mike Bellotti again!
  15. I watched Lanning's post-game interview and when asked about the 408 yards thru the air by UW and the coach's reaction he said (words to the effect) that they will go back and look at the game film and try to see what happened and how to stop that going forward. With all due respect to Dan and Tosh Lupoi let me make one suggestion: DEVELOP A PASS RUSH and SACK THE QB. Whenever Penix was chased out of the pocket, for the most part their passing game broke down. It didn't happen often enough or at the right times last night.
  16. At 6-1 Oregon is still in the thick of it guys, for the Conference Championship. Yeah, the CFB Playoffs are gone but O's probably not anywhere ready for that yet anyway. There's still a lot to play for.
  17. Expect them to attack O thru the air. And the ground. Which is going to be double trouble for O. With a porous secondary like O's Utah is going to be very difficult to stop. They're not so one-dimensional as UW.
  18. At 6-1, Oregon is still not out of it as far as Conference standings go. Unless last night's injuries prove too severe to overcome.
  19. I hate to say it but if Oregon can't beat basically a one-dimensional team like Washington, on their home field, then Oregon wasn't going to go far in the post-season anyway. A CFB Playoff berth might have been an embarrassment like it was for FSU when we knocked them out, or for ND a few years back. A decent bowl game appearance is still in the works, maybe even the conference championship if they can somehow stop Utah and OSU. Fortunately, the Beavers don't have a throwing game anywhere like UW's.
  20. Mudslide beat me to it! Re-load: Oregon 52, UW 28 (my nod to Joey H.) Turnovers; 2 Sacks; 3 305 yards passing 260 yards running GO OREGON!
  21. That's right, the 1949 Rose Bowl with Norn Van Brocklin, 7-0. Alan mentions it in his funny article above.
  22. From the field shot of his teammates around him with the staff and personnel I think the Trojans know how much he meant to them. I'd be shocked to see a poor response to his injury, even from them. I hate it when a player (any player) gets injured seriously. Something like this could (hopefully not) have future playing implications for him. There's no reason to ever wish that on anyone. Not even a Trojan or a (dare I say it?) Husky. GO DUCKS!
  23. Alan was just a little ... vague (?) on where he stands with the Huskies. I wasn't quite sure how he felt. He was kinda waffling on his feelings just a bit. But I did manage to capture this little gem of his: Dave “Softy” Mahler, another lunatic Husky, is let out of the asylum periodically to foam at the mouth over the radio airwaves. Mahler once said that he would root for North Korea if they ever played the Ducks. Only a twisted mind could conjure something like that, but on second thought, I wouldn’t mind adding North Korea to the Pac-12 and sending the Huskies off to Pyongyang. Now, that's more like it, Alan!
  24. Not sure who I hope wins the USC-UCLA matchup. On one hand, I'd rather not see a rematch with Chip Kelly should Oregon get past UW, Utah & OSU. On the other hand, it's the defecting and condescending Trojans. With Dye out and Addison nicked USC might have a hard time keeping up with UCLA.
