  1. No. 6 Oregon vs. No. 11 Oregon State: Ducks open as almost 2-TD favorites in Civil War For many reasons, this is setting up to be one of the most intense rivalry games we’ve ever seen between the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers. Though a loss by the Beavers on Saturday night made it impossible for Jonathan Smith and his team to get into the Pac-12 Championship game, the Beavers still have a chance to ruin the postseason dreams for their bitter rival, the Ducks, for a second straight year. They could knock the Ducks out of the title game and end their College Football Playoff aspirations. This is also the last matchup between Oregon and Oregon State on the schedule. With the Ducks moving to the Big Ten next year, the two aren’t currently scheduled to play in 2024, though that could change. So it goes without saying that this game on Black Friday will be pretty important. As far as the betting line goes, the Ducks have opening up as early favorites in the matchup. Here’s a look at the lines, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook... 5. Kenny Dillingham compares Oregon Ducks to 2022 Georgia Bulldogs When you talk to opposing head coaches after a blowout loss, they usually aren’t too interested in discussing the team that just beat them. Most will offer their respect and declare that the team they played is very talented, but be quicker to lament on the things that they could have done better to get their guys prepared. For Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham, though, there was no shortage of praise for the Oregon Ducks, his former team, on Saturday following a 49-13 blowout. Whether it was lauding Bo Nix as the Heisman Trophy leader, or declaring that this Oregon team is as good as he’s seen in his career, Dillingham showed a lot of love for what Dan Lanning and the Ducks have going in Eugene. Here are some of the top things that he had to say after the game... 6. Report Card: Perfect first half leads to relaxing second half at ASU It’s difficult to be “perfect” in the game of football, but the Oregon Ducks were nearly that in the first half of their 49-13 win over Arizona State. Oregon had the ball six times in the first half and scored six touchdowns to take a commanding 42-0 lead. The defense was also able to hold the Sun Devils off the scoreboard despite their unconventional offensive sets. The highlight was the 98-yard touchdown drive that took a whole 58 seconds to march down the field for the sixth score. Oregon could have easily run the clock out, but the Ducks wanted more and set a tone, not only for that game, but for the Civil War coming up on Friday. Here’s the happy report card for the No. 6-ranked Ducks that moved to 10-1 on the season... Report Card: Perfect first half leads to relaxing second half at ASU DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon went six-for-six for first half touchdowns for a happy report card from Tempe.
  7. Stock Report: Patrick Herbert thrives, Cole Martin shines, and Ty Thompson drops a dime One of the things that Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning has stressed all season long is the need for his team to play a complete game. Earlier this year against the Utah Utes is the only game that Lanning has classified as a complete game from start to finish, where the Ducks didn’t let up in their dominance for a second. I think you could argue that Oregon was incredibly close to getting that done on Saturday in a 49-13 win over Arizona State. With six touchdowns on six drives in the first half, all of which were TD passes for Bo Nix, the Ducks were as dominant as we’ve seen this year, winning in every facet of the game. They gave up some scores in the second half when starters were pulled from the game, but it’s easy to see how good the Ducks can be when they play to their ceiling. With all of that being said, it was hard to find much for Oregon to improve on this week when looking at our stock report. We usually try and find some things that could be better for Dan Lanning’s team after a game, but in Week 12, it was nothing but stocks on the rise in Eugene. Here’s our weekly stock report... Stock Report: Oregon Ducks see nothing but positives in blowout win DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks had only stock risers on Saturday in their 49-13 win over Arizona State on Saturday.

  10. By all indications, the Michigan State football head coaching search is entering into its final stretch as the Spartans look to find a new leader for their football program. Spartans Illustrated has learned that at least four candidates have progressed to second round interviews with Michigan State. These interviews have been virtual. Rivals’ national recruiting analyst Clint Cosgrove has confirmed with sources that MSU has interviewed at least these four coaches for its football head coaching position. All four coaches are in their mid-40s and have years of experience running FBS football programs to varying degrees of success. As we mentioned in our previous article, it is important to be clear that these are not necessarily the final four candidates -- or even the top four candidates -- being considered by Michigan State... Heisman Watch, Week 12: Bo Nix rises as the competition fades Did Bo Nix do enough to lock up the Heisman with a bravura 1st half performance against Arizona State that included roughly 400 yards and 6 touchdowns? 12. 1 thing I learned from every Pac-12 team in Week 12 At this point in the season, it’s hard to be surprised. For the most part, we know what we know. 14. Bo Nix tied at top of Heisman Trophy betting odds; Michael Penix falls to 3rd place Over the next couple of weeks, a major debate is going to be had when it comes to the race for the Heisman Trophy: How important is winning games when determining who gets the award? Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix is considered the leading candidate according to most people that you would talk to. His stats are elite, and his team is 10-1 with a really solid chance to make it to the College Football Playoff. Meanwhile, LSU Tigers QB Jayden Daniels is putting up stats that are slightly better than Nix, though his team has three losses and no opportunity to play for the SEC Championship Game, let alone a CFP spot. So how important should winning be when factoring all of that out? It’s a solid question and one that I’ve done a lot of research on over the weekend. I will have a column come out regarding that topic early this week, specifically looking at Nix and Daniels. Until then, though, here’s a look at the updated Heisman Trophy betting odds, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook... 16. Five Takeaways From Oregon's 49-13 Blowout Win Over Arizona State The No. 6 Oregon Ducks moved to 10-1 on the year following a dominant win over the Arizona State Sun Devils. 17. ESPN FPI Update: Ducks' odds to make CFP take big jump after win over ASU As we get into the final two weeks of the college football season, there is a lot of chaos that can potentially take place. So far, we haven’t seen much of that chaos, other an a devastating injury to Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis that could potentially derail the Seminoles’ undefeated season. However, there are a ton of ranked matchups between College Football Playoff contenders over the next couple of weeks, so we will undoubtedly see a lot of moving pieces. That means that there are a lot of possibilities for the Oregon Ducks. With a win over Oregon State this weekend, they will secure their spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game, getting the rematch with the Washington Huskies that everyone has been hoping for. Whichever team wins that game will almost undoubtedly have a spot in the playoff. So what are the chances of all that happening? ESPN’s Football Power Index breaks it all down for us going forward... 18. 1 QB Is Clear Heisman Trophy Favorite After Today's Performance Bo Nix's Heisman campaign just got even stronger with Saturday's massive six-TD performance against Arizona State. The Oregon QB was on another level in the 49-13 win, completing 24-of-29 passes for 404 yards and a half-dozen scores both through the air and on the ground. Nix's day was certainly enough to sway the public who couldn't stop talking about it on social media. "Bo Nix is going to win the Heisman Trophy ... The dark horse for heisman jokes came true," College Football Report cried... To access the details in the article, click here.

  20. Pac-12 Power Rankings: Ducks separate from the pack even more as UW downs OSU The stage is set for the final two weeks of the year, and every team knows what lies in front of them. For the Washington Huskies, a guaranteed spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game helps, but they have aspirations much greater than that at this point. For the Oregon Ducks, a win on Friday against the Oregon State Beavers stands between them and a rematch against the only team that’s been able to beat them this year. That’s what Saturday’s action left us with, with the Ducks again rolling to a blowout victory while Michael Penix and the Huskies were in a grind-it-out dogfight against the Beavers, ultimately coming away with a 2-point win. It’s left us with very little change at the top of the Pac-12 Power Rankings, where the Ducks have now created even more separation from the rest of the pack as they continue to look like one of the best teams in the nation.
