  1. This article is a good follow-up to the earlier Revenue Sharing post. I don't often agree with Paul Finebaum, but I do agree with him on this. Paul Finebaum Reveals 1 "Biggest Issue" Facing College Football WWW.MSN.COM ESPN's Paul Finebaum is never one to underplay something he potentially sees as a problem. So on Monday he addressed what...
  2. This is the Mission Statement of NCAA: Our purpose is to govern competition in a fair, safe, equitable and sportsmanlike manner, and to integrate intercollegiate athletics into higher education so that the educational experience of the student-athlete is paramount. I think the governing body of the NCAA needs to adhere to its Mission Statement. Are they governing competition in a fair, safe, equitable and sportsmanlike manner? Is intercollegiate athletics integrated into higher education so that the educational experience of the student-athlete is paramount? It's very disappointing to see the NCAA has let college football get to where it is today.
  3. This writer has it right! The NCAA has only itself to blame for the slow death facing college sports WWW.MSN.COM The combination of NIL, the transfer window and the increasing domination of a few athletic conferences is a game changer. But...
  4. If revenue is shared, would this make the athletes employees of the university? They certainly don't sound like "amateurs" anymore if a "union" of sorts is being used for financial gain. This is just another potential item to add to the list that is wrong with college football, disillusioning fans. The fact that meetings are taking place is disappointing.
  5. Does Stanford want to go to Big 10? I am not sure they want to buy into the extra travel, be a lower tier team, etc. It doesn't seem to fall well with their student academic endeavors. Has anyone read about their interest in doing this?
  6. College football world reacts to stunning Big Ten plan for athlete compensation WWW.MSN.COM The NCAA‘s recent rule changes allowing players to profit from their name, image, and likeness have changed the world of...
  7. He should have turned the team over to an assistant if his Mom was so sick. Fans would have understood. I think he is too much a control person to do that though.
  8. Could you please make this page always readily available? I would find this most helpful and refer to it often.
  9. I agree. The service was very well done. It was very emotional. I wish they would've identified the players who spoke after the service in the video. I didn't know who most of them were.

  13. Apparently this video was shown on tv the first day of the World Championships. For those of you who missed it, it is worth seeing. Hayward Field truly is "magical" for many athletes.
  14. I am finding Dante Moore is easy to like. Below is a write up about Dante's feeling about NIL on his recru8ting. Be sure to click on the interview towards the end of the article. He is a well spoken young man. 'I don't want to choose my college off money;' 5-star Oregon QB Dante Moore discusses NIL WWW.MSN.COM Over the past couple of years, the recruiting landscape has changed in college football. No longer does a school just have...
  15. You mean people are staying as far away as Salem? That's too bad about the restaurants. I was thinking they would have the most to gain! I guess concessions inside the stadium must do pretty well.
  16. As one who has not been in Eugene for over 20 years, I'm curious what it has been like during the World T&F Championships in the city? The local businesses must be thrilled, but is traffic a mess? Are there enough hotel spaces or are close in communities also being used? Do you notice many out of town/foreign visitors or were most of the spectators local? On tv, the attendance has looked good. It is an honor to host such a huge event like the World Championships, but I’m sure it can bring headaches too for locals.
  17. Great article for Eugene and Oregon track fans. Eugene Is an Obvious—Yet Unlikely—First U.S. Host of World Championships WWW.MSN.COM Known as TrackTown USA, Eugene has a storied history—and a swanky updated stadium—to win over track fans. Now it aims to...
  18. Sure wish this could be streamed or taped so out of towners can pay respects too.
  19. I thought I had read somewhere a while ago that he wants another try at the next Olympics. I got the impression from that article track is his first love, but he doesn't want to have to wonder if he could succeed at football also. A few good years of football would probably pay the bills better.
