  13. Ranking the Contenders, Nate Frazier Shifts Into Decision Mode We're entering an important part of the recruiting calendar for Oregon. Top targets across the country have been taking visits all summer and want to wrap up their recruitments so they can focus on strong senior season. One of those players is Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei running back Nate Frazier, who will announce his decision on August 6 according to Greg Biggins of 247Sports. 14. Four-Star '25 QB Akili Smith Jr. commits to Oregon, breaks down decision San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln junior quarterback Akili Smith Jr. just announced he will play his college ball at Oregon. It always seemed like more a matter of when, not if, that Smith would commit to the Ducks. His father is former Oregon All-American QB Akili Smith Sr and the younger Smith was raised on Duck football. Although he’s only going in to his junior year, Smith decided he was ready to pull the trigger and end the recruiting process. “I’ve always wanted to go to Oregon,” Smith said.”Ever since I was young, that’s all my dad had me wearing, Oregon gear and watching Oregon football. “Saying all that, it was still a business decision for me and my dad really didn’t push me to pick Oregon. He wanted this to be my decision and I looked at a few other schools really hard. When I evaluated everyone equally, Oregon was the best option for me.” Four-Star '25 QB Akili Smith Jr. commits to Oregon, breaks down decision 247SPORTS.COM Oregon lands a commitment from one of the elite signal callers in the '25 class.

  19. I certainly don't have any proof, but I can't help but think the two recruits we lost to Nebraska that were predicted for the Ducks in the last month were due to the uncertainty of the conference/media deal. You're right, every recruiter is using that against us. Lanning and his crew are great recruiters, but this is something hard for players/parents to ignore.
  20. On3 top-40 WR Adrian Wilson flips from TCU to Oregon: 'It's a huge dream for me to play in Autzen' Adrian Wilson has made two difficult decisions in the past two months. That includes committing to the Horned Frogs at the back end of June, and then flipping that pledge to Oregon late on Saturday night after making his out to the Pacific Northwest for a visit this weekend. Now, the No. 36 overall player in the On300 for the 2025 recruiting cycle is set to be a Duck. Wilson spent multiple days on campus in Eugene working out for the coaching staff, including OC Will Stein, and meeting one-on-one in head coach Dan Lanning‘s office. Oregon was an early favorite in the four-star wide receiver’s recruitment due to his connections with Stein and Antonio Parks dating back to their time at UTSA. The in-person connection over the weekend provided Wilson with more than enough clarity about his decision. “I’d been on campus for a few days, so it was enough time to be on campus, talk to the coaches,” said Wilson, who landed his seventh scholarship offer from Stein when he was the Roadrunner’s play-caller. That included time in Autzen Stadium. “We had good connections prior to the camp and when we started to talk, everything started to set up,” he continued. “Growing up, I played a lot of NCAA 14. Playing in Autzen was always something I did, and to be in Autzen was a huge dream for me. To play there is the same.” “Oregon was a better fit for me,” Wilson asserted. 21. Instant Reaction: Saturday Night Live And just like that SNL has come to a close. This years event had a little different feel overall. I would say it was one of the smaller crowds yet in terms of fans in the stands. But it’s also never been an especially massive event in Eugene so far. Perhaps that might change one day. This years group felt different too however. It lacked some of the pure firepower we’ve seen at this event before. However I will say there were a number of times today I’d look at a kid and look him and see he was a 2025 or 2026 recruit. And think to myself, kids shouldn’t look like that at that age. Meaning, the underclassmen were probably far better than any other camp I’ve been to yet. Dan Lanning does a really good job ‘touching tables’ at this event. If you don’t know the term, it’s the equivalent of a restaurant manager going around at dinner and personally greeting all of the guests at their tables. He doesn’t just sit at the DL or LB groups, he’s very active walking around and nearly always with his chief of staff, Marshall Malchow. Watching and discussing prospects at all positions. With that in mind, here are some instant reactions from myself and Jarrid Denney on what we saw in the 90 (ish) minute camp Saturday night. We’ll have a little more tomorrow after hearing back from some of our sources. Instant Reaction: Saturday Night Live - On3 WWW.ON3.COM After another successful event in Eugene, we talk about the immediate reactions from SNL including standouts and more.
  22. There has been so much bad news, let's take a look at some good things (dream scenarios) that could happen... The worst is over. At least, that’s what George Kliavkoff and Co. are telling themselves right now. UCLA and USC, debilitating losses, but not paralyzing. Colorado? More of a blow to the ego and to the optics than an actual loss on the playing fields or in the classroom. But lose an Arizona? Or an Oregon? Or a Washington? We’re talking nightmare fuel. Hold onto all 3? Life would be a dream. Or, at least, Kliavkoff could get some rest. For a night or 2, at least. Here are the top 5 dream scenarios for the Pac-12... 23. Top 10 2024 Player, DL David Stone puts Oregon in top six schools While college coaches are already starting to take a glance at players in the class of 2025, some of the best players in the class of 2024 are still undecided — or at least unannounced — on where they will play their college football. One of the best examples of this is defensive lineman David Stone. Rated as a 5-star recruit by 247 Sports (as well as other outlets) Stone is one of the top 10 players in his class and will likely have an immediate impact wherever he goes. At 6′ 4″ and 270 lbs, Stone already has a frame that should startle opposing offensive linemen and quarterbacks. Stone has set his commitment date for August 26th, which is now less than a month away, and the anticipation is building across the college football world. From Oregon’s perspective, the addition of Stone would be perfect. Obviously, any program would vivaciously welcome a top ten player to their program, but with one of the country’s best pass rushers in Brandon Dorlus likely moving on after the 2023 season, the addition of David Stone would immediately fill a hole in the Ducks’ defense.
