Four-star 2024 running back Jason Brown, 4-star 2025 cornerback Blake Woodby standout at Oregon’s Saturday Night Live camp Four-star 2024 running back Jason Brown of Washington’s O’Dea High School and four-star 2025 cornerback Blake Woodby of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore each had strong showings among their respective position groups at Autzen Stadium. The No. 11 running back in the class of 2024 in the 247Sports Composite, Brown is ranked the No. 2 player in Washington and long been considered among the top players in the region. He again showed the explosiveness and mobility that makes him a target for Oregon, Washington, Michigan State, Louisville, Alabama and USC among others. Woodby has multiple interceptions and defended several wide receivers well, getting overly aggressive and holding at times, but was one of the best defenders in coverage during one-on-one matchups. He and St. Frances Academy teammate Kevyn Humes were among a talented group of cornerbacks that also included 2026 prossect Brandon Lockhart of Loyola High in Los Angeles and West Linn’s Josiah Molden, a 2027 prospect and Oregon legacy who already has a UO offer. Twitter Reaction: Top recruits have rave reviews for Oregon's Saturday Night Live One of the biggest recruiting days of the year took place for the Oregon Ducks over the weekend, with Dan Lanning and the Oregon coaching staff hosting several dozen high school prospects for the annual Saturday Night Live camp in Autzen Stadium. Some of the top prospects in the nation, both committed and uncommitted, flocked to Oregon for a visit to the Ducks and a skills camp that allowed coaches to evaluate their abilities. A handful of offers went out after the camp, and a couple of commitments came in for the Ducks, including one from 4-star WR Adrian Wilson, the No. 85 player in the 2025 class. Unsurprisingly, the reviews from recruits has been extremely positive, with many of them taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post photos and videos from the day. Arizona Leaving: Do YOU Believe Him?
Pennsylvania Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
FWIW, the scuttlebutt I have been seeing on various Big 12 and national threads is that Arizona will be the next school to bolt. It seems Colorado and Arizona are the two schools targeted. It is interesting reading some of these threads. I think the Colorado move was driven heavily by Coach Prime. He wants to have a presence in Texas for recruiting and he seemed to not like the streaming talk for the media deal for recruiting. -
ACC eyeing Oregon, Washington with Pac-12 reeling from Colorado’s exit The ACC has reportedly looked into the possibility of luring Oregon and Washington away from the Pac-12 in conference expansion. The SEC and Big Ten have been the leaders in conference expansion, adding some of the top college football programs. Colorado is the latest school to make a change, agreeing to bolt the Pac-12 for the Big 12. Will the ACC get involved? Nothing is imminent, but the ACC is reportedly weighing its options. Oregon on the 'Verge' of B1G Formal Conversations
Pennsylvania Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Which conference would be a better football fit for Oregon — Big Ten or Big 12? With the departure of the Colorado Buffaloes from the Pac-12 Conference, the topic of conference realignment has once again been brought to the forefront. If you’re and Oregon Ducks fan, this means that your team is in the middle of nearly every conversation that is being brought forth at the moment, for good or for bad. Should the Ducks end up leaving the Pac-12 and finding a new home, we need to start vetting their landing spot. The Big 12 may be the more likely option at the moment, but the Big Ten is certainly the more-desired outcome. But is the Big Ten that much better than the Big 12, and if so, why? Let’s take a look at that question. In college football, one of the most important things for fans to hold onto is rivalries, and shared experiences. One place may be a great spot for a team to land, but if they don’t have any past matchups with the teams in the conference, things could fall flat in the end. So when looking at the Big Ten and the Big 12, which conference has Oregon had more experience with, and where would the best rivalries come from? Let’s take a look... If the Pac-12 wants to expand, here's who they should target There are a lot of things that the Pac-12 Conference can do going forward in the wake of losing the Colorado Buffaloes to the Big 12 Conference, but what seems to be the consensus thought is that commissioner George Kliavkoff needs to do what he can to add some new members as quickly as possible. With the defect of Colorado and the departure of USC and UCLA a year ago, the Pac-12 has shrunken down to a Pac-9 over the last 13 months. In order to stabilize, they need to add one new member at the very least, and potentially three new members in order to get back to relative strength. So who might they go after? Here are a few options... Oregon needs the Big Ten, but the Big Ten might need Oregon just as badly In the history of the United States, there have been war-time presidents and peace-time presidents; leaders who are aggressive and ready to take action to protect the future of the nation, and leaders who are good at negotiating and offering comfort to all of their constituents. Rob Mullens, John Karl Scholz — which side do you more align yourselves with? For the University of Oregon, it appears that things are moving from a nice decade of peace into a period of war that will leave many teams behind and feinding for themselves while others jump ship for cushy spots in new conferences. By all means it appears that the Pac-12 is a sinking ship right now, and the remaining nine teams in the conference have to be looking for a landing spot should they choose to jump. For the Ducks, a perfect dismount would see Oregon as the newest member of the Big Ten, following a path blazed by the USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins. We know that the Ducks would desperately love to join that conference, but many think that the Big Ten might not want Oregon. Former commissioner Kevin Warren was interested in further expanding west, but new commissioner Tony Petitti has pumped the brakes. I think that they not only should want the Ducks, but they may need them just as badly as Oregon needs the Big Ten. Let me explain. Oregon needs the Big Ten, but the Big Ten needs Oregon just as badly DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A perfect outcome for Oregon is a seat at the table next to USC and UCLA. Pac-12 fans deserve better from leadership Unfortunately, the Pac-12 executive committee and two fumbling conference commissioners in a row, do not. The proud Conference of Champions remains a college jewel, or does it? And for how long? When Colorado’s administration reportedly decided on Wednesday to pursue membership in the Big 12 and bolt the Pac-12, it signaled a puddle of chaos and fracture of unity for the league. The move became official on Thursday. With USC and UCLA headed for the Big Ten after this coming season and Colorado reportedly returning to its roots in the Big 12, doors have been opened for other entities to become predators or members to shop around. With no apparent Pac-12 offer to San Diego State or SMU at the moment, and putting SDSU in a real pickle with the Mountain West, this is a league that is showing little creativity, backbone or leadership. Jon Gold: Winners and losers from Colorado's defection to the Big 12 From a public relations standpoint, Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark might as well have dropped the mic on Thursday in a statement announcing Colorado’s return to the conference it called home for 62 years. There is no greater winner in this round of deck shuffling than the new Big 12 commissioner, who has been on the job for less than a year. And, of course, anyone who follows the Pac-12 knows the biggest loser in this debacle, even if George Kliavkoff is taking too much of the blame. Those are just two of the many, many people impacted by yet another landmark move in college sports. No. 7 TE in the class of 2025, Jack VanDorselaer names Oregon among his top schools As we near the end of the 2024 summer recruiting cycle, coaches will begin to look to next year’s class of recruits. One of those 2025 prospects, Jack VanDorselaer, recently showed interest in the Oregon Ducks, when he included them among his top nine schools. VanDorselaer is listed as a wide receiver and tight end hybrid. At 6’5″ and 230 lbs, VanDorselaer would likely be fully a TE in college, but if he were to lose some weight, he could also become a high-point, possession WR for QBs to target over the middle of the field, and at his back shoulder along the sideline. The following article includes comments from ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips yesterday. I know some of you have talked about a coast to coast conference with the ACC. This article might be of interest to you. ACC continuing to look at possible expansion, commissioner says As Colorado becomes the latest domino to fall in college football realignment, ACC commissioner Jim Phillips said the league continues to actively consider adding teams but has not found enough value in any expansion option. Phillips told ESPN on Thursday that he's closely monitoring the Pac-12's issues landing a new TV deal and routinely examining how realignment can shift the ACC's position in the Power 5's financial hierarchy. "The ACC has been and remains highly engaged in looking at anything that makes us a better and stronger conference," Phillips told ESPN. "We've spent considerable time on expansion to see if there is anything that fits. We have a tremendous group of institutions but if there was something that made us better, we would absolutely be open to it." While expansion had not been a favored option, Colorado's move could alter that landscape. Matt Hayes: Colorado's exit probably won't be last domino to fall for crumbling Pac-12 All it took was 1 university president to get a good look under the hood and realize the Pac-12 is dead. Colorado made the first official move Thursday, announcing it would leave the Pac-12 for the Big 12, beginning in 2024. Now there’s only 1 question remaining. How quickly do other schools follow — and how long before the Pac-12 is no longer a Power 5 conference? “Everything is now in the Big 12’s court,” an industry source told Saturday Out West. “If they want to further expand West, that’s going to be a big problem for the Pac-12.” Because further Big12 expansion will eventually lead to Big Ten expansion. Oregon Football Saturday Night Live Visitor List The Ducks are ramping things back up on the recruiting trail with one of their biggest recruiting events of the year. A lot of top targets and commits will flock to Eugene on Saturday for the camp, which is the biggest recruiting event of the year for Oregon aside from the spring game. Oregon has a great collection of talent in the 2024 class and is still working to add to that group. They'll host multiple top uncommitted targets this weekend and even push further ahead into the 2025 and 2026 classes. Here's an early look at who's expected to visit Oregon. We will continue to work on confirming names and updating this list. To access the article, click here.

The move for Colorado won’t take place until 2024, but it will have ramifications that could impact the world of college football far sooner than that. For fans of the Oregon Ducks, this move by the Buffaloes has the potential to completely change their outlook for the future. Oregon is viewed as a national brand, and they don’t want to be left as the last standing man on the Titanic. It’s unclear what the Ducks are going to do in the future, but over the past few months — and few days — it’s becoming increasingly apparent that the Pac-12 is starting to whither away. There seems to be a strong notion that unless commissioner George Kliavkoff can deliver a media rights deal that far exceeds expectations — something that has never seemed less likely at the moment — major defectors could follow in Colorado’s footsteps. So looking ahead, what are some of the options that are available to Oregon, and what might the Pac-12 do in order to keep the ship afloat? We have a few ideas... Pac 12 Releases a Statement
Pennsylvania Duck replied to The Kamikaze Kid's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I was just on some Big 12 sites and the scuttlebutt is that they expect a second Pac-12 team to come onboard soon. . It appears for the past year, nothing much regarding a media deal has been accomplished. Colorado was expecting numbers at media day and there were none to give them. That sent Colorado back to the Big 12. I don't know for sure that the deal is going to be better the longer we wait. He seems to be wrong on so many of his ideas it is hard to believe him. I don't think teams are willing to wait for long as they need to look out for themselves. -

Very disappointed in how George K has handled this. This is not the time to stay silent, which appears to be his management style and look where it has gotten him. The conference is falling apart and you put out a mundane statement like this? I have no confidence that he will put together a good media deal or that he can keep the conference viable. -
Bill Oram: Good riddance to Colorado and its lousy football team but, uh, who is going to save the rest of the Pac-12? Hey, Colorado, ya stinkin’ bovine bums, don’t let the door hit’cha in your hairy Rocky Mountain rumps. But say, uh, maybe don’t let it close it all the way either? Leave a crack of light for Oregon to Duck out, too. And Oregon State. Won’t anyone think of the poor Beavs? If there’s one wish from this forgotten little corner of the realignment world, it’s that wherever the Ducks and the Beavers end up, they be allowed to go there together. But that probably makes me a bigger sucker than George Kliavkoff. It all feels so naïve at this point. The well-coiffed Kliavkoff declaring last week that the longer his conference waited for a TV deal the better the offers got. That the Big 12 poaching any schools from his conference was “not a concern.” Ha! Fooled ’em good, didn’t they? Oregon Extends Contract With Dan Lanning Through 2028
Pennsylvania Duck replied to a topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Rob Mullens and Dan Lanning offer comment on contract extension Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens and head football coach Dan Lanning each offered comments on the new contract extension the school and Lanning agreed to on Thursday. Mullens: "Coach Lanning and his family love being a part of this community," he said. "Obviously, they’ve put down roots, and they’ve engaged at a level we haven’t seen since probably the Brooks/Bellotti era. So, it’s something that is extremely important to our community, and Dan, Sauphia and their kids have made that kind of commitment. It shows that this is a two-way commitment, which is important to us." Lanning: "In coaching, you dream to be at a place where you can both raise your family and win at a high level," said Lanning in the statement. "Oregon has more than exceeded those expectations for my wife, Sauphia, and our three boys, and this will ensure our boys can all graduate from the same school as we continue to grow roots in the community. I am thrilled to be a part of a program that has a shared vision for how to stay on the cutting edge and achieve great success moving forward, and I am grateful to Phil and Penny Knight, Rob Mullens and President Scholz for their faith and unwavering support of our program. Our relentless pursuit of excellence for the Oregon football program will continue to include an innovative and aggressive approach to student-athlete support, world-class facilities, and all program dynamics as we push forward, and I look forward to all of the great days on the horizon for our student-athletes and Duck fans."
